Reliable, Friendly and Comfortable

I have flown with Loganair a few times now between Southampton - Newcastle, as I work down South and have family up North. Always a nice experience with the crew, and always on-time for me. Never had any issues. One star down as can be a little pricey, but overall a good airline.

Enjoyed the flights but my luggage??

Well I thoroughly enjoyed the flights, aircraft were comfortable and I for one liked the flight - felt like proper flying. Crew were friendly and helpful and on a short flight got tea and biscuits-which is more than BA do! However......I had been forewarned that my luggage might not travel with me and sure enough, it spent time alone in Aberdeen. Thing is, everyone I recounted this to had similar, and much worse, stories. Luggage missing seems to be a regular occurrence. How can Loganair think this looks good for them? Ah yes. They have no real competition so think it doesn't matter to distress their customers. Shame, because all else was good.

Robert, the flight attendant - our hero.

I see a few bad 1 star reviews and can’t disagree more.
16 April 2025 I flew from Southampton to Newcastle with Loganair, alone with my 4 year old son. My son hasn’t flown before and we are going on holiday next month so I thought to our normal visit to see our grandparents in Newcastle, I’d fly with him for a taster flight as it’s short.
He enjoyed the flight to begin with but unfortunately due to weather issues, we couldn’t land straight away and had to keep circling the airport, dropping down to try & land and then come back up again due to no visibility.
My son was getting quite stressed due to this, especially with the pressure in his ears at the last 30 minutes.
He eventually vomited everywhere due to the stress.
I got quite anxious due to being alone and normally not able to deal with vomit, without vomiting myself!
We had an amazing flight attendant, named Robert. He was our hero from start to finish.
He helped me by giving me loads of wipes, tissues, sick bags & plastic bags. He said he couldn’t help more due to the plane trying to land and him having to take his seat for obvious safety reasons, but he kept coming back to check everything was ok from landing failures.
I honestly don’t know if I’d been able to deal as calmly as I had if he hadn’t helped the way he did.
Once we eventually landed & everyone had exited the plane Robert came over and helped, reassuring us not to rush & we had plenty of time (even though we know we didn’t!) just to try and help with how anxious I was. He stood infront of me with his back to us so no one could see when I got my son changed.

Robert, thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for making our first flight that was stressful with worry on why we couldn’t land, to the vomiting.

Avoid at all costs

My experience of Logan Air is they are a shambles and simply not fit to run an airline. Long story short - flight cancelled, no communication for hours, finally given bags back several hours later, no advice or help about rebooking, and not even one email about the flight having been cancelled. And when we rebooked independently, our bags got removed from the flight due to weight issues (i.e not baggage handling). Maybe they are OK when everything works, but when they need a plan B they were worse than useless. Avoid at all costs

Shocking. Never using them again.

They had to cancel our flight due to weather so they put us up in a hotel. They told us we'd get a family room as there were 3 of us. We get to the hotel and they tell us they dont have any family rooms. Unless it was their first day, how do ground staff not know that?
Anyway, they booked us onto a new flight in 2 days time but told us they would try to get us onto the next days flight. They took our number and told us they would call to update us. The next day we went over to ask as we hadn't heard anything. We were told our flight left an hour ago. We weren't told we were even on the flight. The worst thing though was three separate members of staff telling us that it must be our fault as we would have been told, even after assuring them that we hadn't. I bumped into another couple in the hotel, and they had the same experience, put them onto a new flight but didnt tell them. Finally got home on Christmas eve.

I am sorry to hear about the disruption to your journey and would like to offer our apologies for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

Our ground staff, acting as Loganair’s representatives, arrange evening accommodation during disruption. They are not hotel employees and can only book available rooms. In this instance, they were informed that a family room had been secured.

Customers were advised that should there be an additional flight added, we would try and contact them via email or telephone and move them if possible. A list of names was taken of those who were interested in moving should a flight be added.

There was also mass disruption across the network, and as a result, it was late evening when this additional flight was set up, and the handling agents were able to advise customers.

Our handling agents then moved all customers on the list and called as many as possible, some did not answer or have a message service to leave a voice message. They have confirmed a number of customers came back to the terminal to confirm the new flight details and advised they had received emails.

Our records show an email was sent to the email address that you had provided at the time of booking, confirming that you had been re-booked on a flight the following day.

I appreciate that you may not have seen this email in advance, however our ground staff have made every attempt to advise all customers of their new booking. ^JH

Definitely recommend this airline

I fly with Loganair regularly and the staff are always friendly. Everything that's within Loganair's control is well run, and there really isn't anything they can do about delays etc.  I've flown with them a lot and haven't had a huge number of delays anyway.

I enjoy flying with Loganair because their routes give you a good alternative to travelling by train. You get a free snack and drink on board too.

It seems like most of the negative reviews on here apply equally to any other airline. As a frequent flyer with this airline I would definitely recommend Loganair.

Horrendous booking/app/everything IT related

They must have zero employees in their IT department. Carrier pigeon is more tech savvy than the app. Everything about their tech - boarding passes, inputting card details, retrieving bookings, it’s almost like they designed them to be counter intuitive. But that’s paying them a compliment in that it works someway, the app just don’t work. Flew regularly with them for convenience despite the much higher price point. Never again

Damage to property and poor customer service

We travelled with a pram which was checked at the gate. When I went to retrieve the pram upon landing, I watched the baggage handler drop the pram from a height directly on the concrete, this has caused significant damage to the pram which was in pristine condition. The baggage handler just left it at my feet while I was holding my baby, didn’t apologise and walked away. We contacted a LoganAir about the incident, they took weeks to respond and refused to provide any compensation for the damage caused due to their lack of care and attention. I would avoid travelling with this airline, particularly with safety equipment such as car seats or prams as they clearly do not take reasonable care.

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your recent experience. We want to offer our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused during your travels.

We reviewed the provided pictures and noted that the pram sustained light scratches rather than significant damage. Additionally, considering the aircraft style, which is lower to the ground, it is unclear from what great height the pram could have been dropped. Significantly, these light scratches do not impact the safe usage of the pram.

We understand your frustration and the importance of your pram being in pristine condition, especially when travelling with a baby. We regret that our baggage handler did not offer an apology at the time of the incident. I have passed details of your experience onto our Senior Management To ensure any underlying training issues are addressed.

We acknowledge that our customer relations team took 21 days to respond to your complaint, which is within the 28-day timeframe we advised.

While we cannot provide compensation in this instance, we hope to have the opportunity to serve you better in the future. ^JH

I run a couple of companies in Aberdeen…

I run a couple of companies in Aberdeen in Dyce and the City Centre. I like to mix up travel between rail and air. I can deal with the delayed flights but rude air hostesses is just unacceptable. After a long hard week passengers do not need the type of attitude you will find from those looking after your comfort (but primarily your safety!). Does air travel have to descend to this.

Having enjoyed BMI and BA (Logan still use those old planes - for how much longer without having serious maintenance issues?), the Man-ABZ route started to go downhill with Flybe as they tried to stay afloat by milking passengers. I can only say we seem to be reaching the end of that long downward spiral on this route. Come back EasyJet (never thought I’d say that!)

Loganair are expensive

Loganair are expensive. A flight from Isle of Man to Manchester is same as Manchester to Alicante!! Customer service unhelpful, I changed my email address and they would not tell me what the frequent flyer number was (clan member)

Hi Warwick.

I am sorry to hear you feel this way about our fares.

I can confirm that return fares from the Isle of Man to Manchester start from £115.74, including hand and hold baggage, which would come at an additional cost when travelling on most carriers from Manchester to Alicante.

The price a customer pays is determined by their choice of flight, day of travel, the lead time afforded when making the booking, and the forecasted demand for the flights selected.

Loganair manages the availability in accordance with these demand patterns and ultimately has to get the balance correct in terms of the overall economics of the -Isle of Man / Manchester commercial route.

Regarding your comments that the Customer Service was unhelpful and did not provide your Clan Number.

Having looked over the correspondence between our Clan Team and yourself, I can see they have helped in providing your Clan Number while updating the email address within one day of receiving your request.

I am unsure of what our team could have done more. However, please feel free to contact us through our Customer Help Centre using the link below, and we would be happy to discuss where you think we have not met your expectations. ^JH

Dire customer service

Submitted a formal complaint on 1st January and have been very patient in waiting for a response within their stated 28 day response period. My complaint reference is 313921 - can you please do me the courtesy of responding and dealing with my complaint and compensation claim by email. Logainair has already cost me over £200 in getting to my destination after a cancelled flight along with a 10 hour delay in arrival and several hours submitting a complaint and following up.

DO NOT BOOK

DO NOT BOOK with them through their website.
We booked a flight via Loganair website, not realising it was through eDreams. We had confirmation of both our outgoing and incoming flights then all of a sudden the outgoing flight said "Failed" but with no explanation or reason. It left us very confused as it said "your booking is partially confirmed". Tried contacting them via email for an explanation and to find out if our flight was booked or not. We only had confirmation from another airline (very confusing) the return flight was booked but not the outgoing flight. Utterly ridiculous. Then we were confused about the prime membership, we didn't want a membership, just our 2 flights which we paid for IN FULL. Then they said they'll send us a refund, but didn't know what the refund was for. After trying to sort this online for over 4 hours we rang them, which was awful as we couldn't understand what they (2 different people) were saying because their English was not good. Then the price on Loganair website suddenly shot up, which made us think they made an error and they cancelled our outgoing flight. We were worried our outgoing flight wasn't booked so had to book it again via the other airline direct. It wasn't our fault. What a mess and complete waste of our time. NEVER AGAIN .. STAY WELL CLEAR.

Hi Maria,

I am sorry to hear about your experience when booking, however I can confirm that your booking was not made on the Loganair website but with an Online Travel Agent eDreams and all correspondence thereafter you have had is with your Online Travel Agent eDreams.

Again, I am sorry to hear of your experience with the Online Travel Agent eDreams you have chosen to book with. We would always advise booking directly with the airline via our website www.Loganair.co.uk or via a reputable travel agent. ^JH

Super customer service

My friend left Hamburg on a code share flight vis Schiphol and Glasgow to Benbecula, unfortunately due to delays with KLM he arrived in Glasgow 16/17 hrs late and his luggage had remained in Schiphol.
KLM had not advised Logan air of his delay but they got him here the following day but luggage did not arrive until after he departed,
Eventually his bag arrived after he had left and as far as KLM where concerned that was end of matter.
Thank god for fantastic service by Logan air staff in particular Jackie who arranged for bag to be retrieved and put on next flight to Benbecula.
The bag had medication for my friends diabetes so it was critical he got,it. Logan air proved again they care.

Dear Mr Yorke,

We are sorry for the disruption to your travel on this occasion. We can see that you have been in touch with Loganair via our online complaints form and you have received the applicable compensation due for the disruption to your Loganair flight in line with EC261/2004 regulation.

Whilst we do appreciate as a result of the cancellation of your flight you missed your onward travel connection, as your travel was booked on separate tickets and for different carriers, neither airline has any obligation for the performance of the other.

Loganair staff are unable to access bookings made independently with any other carrier and therefore cannot make any changes to onward travel tickets. In accordance with our Conditions of Carriage we are not responsible for, and have no liability for, your travel other than as ticketed with Loganair.

For the costs incurred at London Heathrow we would advise you to contact your private travel insurer to recoup any additional costs incurred as I believe you have done on this occasion.

We reiterate our sincere apologies for the initial flight cancellation and do hope any future travel will be entirely satisfactory. NQ

Avoid at all costs

Avoid this airline at all costs ("costs" pun very much intended). Problem is, if you live or are from the islands of Scotland, you have no option other than to use them if you need to travel there. A situation they very much use to their advantage.

Last week, my two brothers and I had to fly from Glasgow to Stornoway at very short notice. My uncle had passed away, meaning we had to book a next day flight. Now, you might expect to pay a premium given the short notice. What we didn’t expect was that the premium would amount to £561.00. Each. Almost £1,700. Think how far you could travel for that kind of money. And then consider our flights took 40 minutes to get there, and 50 minutes on the way back.

Now, Loganair have a compassionate consideration scheme for passengers in situations like this one, where there has been a family bereavement. Unfortunately, an uncle is not a close enough relation to qualify, and we were told when we called them that, if they were to book a flight for us over the phone, it would be even more expensive than their online prices. Nice.

We had to be in Lewis for 10:00 on the Saturday so we booked the 06:55 flight and paid their exorbitant prices.

The next day, we arrived at the airport over an hour before our flight time and upon checking the departure screens, our gate was going to be displayed at 07:25; 30 minutes after we were supposed to be flying. We checked our phones. No communication in terms of an email or a text message to tell us what was happening. We made our way down to the gate that the Stornoway flight normally leaves from. No staff. The place in darkness. Eventually when somebody did arrive at the gate, we were told that the aircraft scheduled to fly to Stornoway that morning had had to turn back the previous night due to engine issues and was therefore sitting in a hangar somewhere at the airport. A plane was being sent down from Aberdeen, they told us. So, they knew the night before that there was an issue and neither took any action to ensure an aircraft was there for us in the morning or, failing that, tell us what was happening. Just a disgraceful way to treat paying customers. Eventually, after a delay just minutes short of two hours, we took off from Glasgow landing in Stornoway with around 30 minutes to get across the island to a funeral at 10:00. Given the circumstances, we asked the stewardess on the flight if we could be given priority leaving the aircraft so that we could get disembarked and into a car quickly to get to the funeral. That was declined which we thought was such poor form – what would it have cost her to announce to the other passengers that we needed to get off first?

Now, to the return flight. No complaints about the departure time. It was pretty much on time, give or take a few minutes. Remember the £561.00 we paid for the tickets? Well, the only availability we had on the return flight was Loganair’s Fly Flex + option. Their economy prices are eye wateringly expensive enough but the Fly Flex + option is their most expensive offering. When we called to ask about this, we were reliably informed that due to limited availability, this was all they had left. The aircraft leaving Stornoway could accommodate 76 passengers. We counted around 22 occupied seats, so it was less than a third full. At best, a pretty liberal interpretation of limited availability; in reality, it was a blatant lie.

My experience of this airline is that they are unreliable and are morally and ethically repugnant. They have a monopoly in the islands, knowing full well that they have passengers over a barrel, and they play on that; using it to their advantage by profiteering from their customers’ misfortune. If you have an option, avoid them. If you don’t, then they’ve got you where they want you. An abomination of a company who should be held accountable for the derisory service that they provide to the islands.

I booked a return flight for my sister to come home on Monday 9th payment was pending to find out that it had been confirmed and changed to the sun 8th. As it was comfired as this and I didnt realise until I when to rebook in for my Thursday flight to Edinburgh I have to pay extra to transfer on to the Monday flight I originally was trying to book for. Disgusting been told I had 24 hrs once I my confirmation email came through to query any issues I didn't look at the email till days later as I screenshot my flights times and didn't think anything would change. Not able to refund and has wrecked her trip now and she downy want to go a sshe has social anxiety and mental health disabilities and is afraid of something else going wrong so won't go so I have just lost 255 pound and my sister doesn't get to see her family. I don't have the 75 transfer fee until after she comes back and don't think I should have to pay when I booked for the Monday yes payment was pending but payment when through for the Sunday 8th. I did not agree for the payment to be for the 8th. DO NOT FLY WITH THEM THEY HAVE A SCAM TO GET OUT OF EVERYTHING

Dear Customer,

We are sorry to note your experience when booking your sisters flight. Without the details of the booking we would be unable to investigate the payment issue. However, when the payment is pending, the system would not normally be able to change the date you chose and a confirmation would be sent to the email address used at the time of booking to check the details.

I understand that you were advised that the flights could have been changed within 24 hours of booking which is the normal process.
