Amazing first experience

Dew Point mistaken for damp: Their survey was based on a…
Their survey was based on a misconception regarding a damp issue as they confused condensation on a interior wall due to no heating and ventilation allowing dew point to take place this is quite common on a solid wall in these circumstances.
They didn’t seem to understand this.

Dear My Doyle, I would first like to point out that you are neither my client nor the homeowner. I did reach out after the survey to the homeowner and explained the damp at length and how it occurs. As the damp works have been done, I suggested that a claim should be made on the warranty. I did so out of courtesy even though this is beyond the scope of my obligation.
I then received an unsolicited phone call from you attempting to mansplain why I was wrong. You described yourself as having done some building work in the past and "knew a thing or two about buildings". You then proceeded to tell me what I saw at the property but also admitted that you had not actually been to the property for some time. You were not prepared to listen to my explanation and my 25 years in Building Surveying did not seem to want to sway your opinion as you made it clear that you were not going to have some woman explain something to you. I specialise in old buildings and have lived in many myself. I did my Masters Degree at the Bartlett School of Architecture in historic buildings and how to treat them. I do not appreciate someone who has neither the qualifications nor the experience to mansplain things to me.
I would hope that you would do the decent thing and remove your review as you are neither a customer nor a related party in ownership. Your attempt to then discredit the company because you do not like to be told you are wrong by a woman has no place in todays society.

We commissioned a RICS 3 survey for a 1930s detached bay-fronted house and were very happy with the communication and conduct of the survey, which resulted in a very helpful comprehensive report. We followed up with some verbal questions with Jenny the surveyor and she couldn't have been more helpful

RICs level 2 survey
The information obtained in the survey was more than expected. The surveyor took the time to find out the history of the house and created a real story of the property. The information highlights all the important risks and is very informative. Couldn't thank Lotus Surveyors for the reasonable but very informative report. Worth every penny!
Had a survey done recently for a home myself and my partner were quite keen on. Eager to move forward, we still took the precaution of a survey with Lotus, and it's a good job we did! With many issues being flagged up, it could've been a very costly first home for us if we went ahead with the sale.
The survey report was greatly detailed and covered so many areas we didn't consider. We could not recommend them enough!

Jennifer carried out a survey for us. We got the report 3 working days after the survey was done which was quicker than I thought but it was very in depth.. she gave us really good genuine advice and really knows her stuff.
Would recommend these surveyors to anyone, competetive price but not too expensive too.

Thorough and Detailed
We approached Lotus Surveyors to conduct a level 3 survey on an older property that we were looking to purchase. As first time buyers, we did not know what to expect, but, we were pleasantly surprised with the amount of detail contained within the report. Jennifer was happy to discuss several matters over the phone on more than one occasion and help us understand points in layman’s terms. We are grateful for the experience and insight brought to the report, which made us reevaluate our position.
We will certainly be using them again when we find our next house.
