Down the drain!!!!!!!
I'm glad it's not just me. I was starting to get a complex.
I couldn't work out why our DVDs hadn't turned up.
Went online only to be told I wasn't a member of lovefilm?
I've been with them from the start, Years?
No info, no nothing. All I could get was that I could login using my Amazon account. That was the start. Round and round in circles.
Only ever to end up back at the same page telling me how simple the transition is. Is it B*****KS.
Finally went into Amazon main login page.
Thats where it started getting really infuriating. After about 15mins of ready this policy and that policy, trying to decipher what package I was now on. Lovefilm instant? Who ever ask me if I wanted that? Where was the link to Lovefilm by post??????
Ended up having to cancel Amazon Prime @£79.00 a year which was full of crap I didn't want, BUT according to Amazon I was getting an amazing deal??????
I've now had to sign up on a 30 day free trial, lost all of my previous history because according to Amazon i've never been a member of lovefilm.
3 days later i'm still waiting for my first DVD to be dispatched. Is this the future of Lovefilm??? If it is they can stick it in their ear!!!!!!!!
OH and don't bother looking for a contact us or a telephone number or anyway to speak to a human because it ain't there.
Amazon Why? -----( You have ruined the amazing lovefilm service)
Greed! Greed! Greed! Amazon have destroyed what was an amazing easy to use service. Lovefilm ticked all the boxes, good content, one off monthly price and easy to navigate. Keep it good, keep it simple and keep it reasonable. 3 key things for most consumers but amazon think they know better! There changes in lovefilm have been ridiculous. My wife was watching Greys Anatomy one night as part of the monthly fee and the next night when lovefilm changed to amazon instant video they wanted £1.89 per episode or £21 for a season x 9 seasons, we previously had this as part of one monthly fee. It is greed of the highest order as a dvd box-set of Greys Anatomy is only £9 and amazon want £21 to watch it online as well as your monthly £5.99 subscription. I even thought at first stick with amazon and see if it changes as they settle into the instant streaming world. Then the same thing happened with shamless. Halfway through season one (all seasons for monthly subscription) then bang the next night they want £1.89 an episode. I have now cancelled my subscription and signed on with netflix, which is a good service and I pay £5.99 a month and all the content on it is covered for this price. Farewell lovefilm, you were once great, but are now over priced and full of corporate greed!!
Amazon have runied Lovefilm
Well Lovefilm has just been switched to teh new amazon interface and its a mess , nothings easy to find any more and there has been several working days where no discs have been sent out to me despite all of my discs showing as having been returned and my rental list being full . Thank you Amazon for messing up lovefilm !!!
Change to Amazon site has RUINED the user experience
When I used the LOVEFiLM site it give a clear, enthusiastic user experience. You felt the company and staff loved films and the site was dedicated to you as a film fan. This has been stripped all away moving to the Amazon site. It feel extremely confusing and soulless. The department filter can conveniently swap from LOVEFiLM by POST to the normal DVD & Blu-ray dept.
It gives an impression that they want you to give up on the service and just start buying films from Amazon instead. A terrible change and has left me thinking of cancelling.
Amazon takes over the world !!
Well they've ruined love film such a shame, suddenly everything has a price tag next to it, it's not easy to locate your rental list find new films, and now I've just been sent 2 blu rays that I've already seen !!, oh and did I mention there is a price tag on everything now, poor selection with very little new "cost 0£" things to chose from, too easy for children to run up big bills without parents knowing.
Why change a good system? going to give Netflix a try.
How not to run a streaming service
If you have ever used Netflix, you will be used to their slick interface, either through apps or their website. The new Amazon Instant Video is terrible. Amazon constantly try to push you buy DVD's, Movies that you believe are part of your streaming service aren't, requiring an additional payment. They don't even show you what you were previously watching so you can carry it on.
A truly wasted experience that makes Netflix look like a bargain.
Ruined by move to Amazon...
Rather than showing the rentals I may have, I now get an Amazon shopping page asking if I'd like to buy the film / episode!
Netflix here I come!
Rubbish
Been a customer with love film for 4 years but cancelled today following the amazon changes to the platform for choosing. They mix up hire streaming films with the ones I can watch for "free". It's not user friendly on searching and a complete disaster ....they couldn't have made it more user unfriendly if they had tried. Maybe it was compiled by someone with shares in net flex!
1 star is an overstatement - deserves none!
Been a customer of LoveFilm for many years. Paid £9.99 pm and really enjoyed using the service, the easy to use website, incl excellent blu-ray disks to view at home and watching instant box sets eg West Wing streamed to our smart TV. Excellent service all round.
Now, it is destroyed and that is not too strong a word. My rental list seems to have a mind of it's or Amazon's own. My latest envelope failed to include the latest disk from the box set I have been watching but instead included a disk from a lower priority. Other box sets I had expected to view next are now chargeable at £1.89 per episode! The money grabbing accountants have taken over?
I don't know the name of the Amazon executive who has destroyed a simply wonderful LoveFilm product and service but can only assume he is a 5th columnist from Netflix! He has done more for Netflix than all their marketing budget could have ever dreamed of achieving. Genius... A sad goodbye to LoveFilm and a hesitant hello to Netflix, they cannot be worse than this shower.
am amazed how bad!
Been with love film for a while, and always loved it for the blurays, fantastic service, never had problem and always received my new disc within one working day.
Wow am amazed at how a fantastic company can be totally destroyed, or even allowed to be destroyed by amazon!!
I first noticed the nightmare when I attempted to update my rental list on the app, which turned out to be the worst update ever, which resulted in a heated telephone call to amazon, and then me uninstalling it, with the view to just use the website.
What can I say, wish I'd kept the crap app.
The website is totally impossible to understand, every time I select blu ray, high priority for a film it would stick it in my medium priority list as a DVD, no matter how many times I had changed me rental settings!!
Why does amazon need my card details when I have direct debit already set up for love film?
I can't even explain how bad this is!
Am gutted, me and the wife loved watching blu rays when me son went to bed, now am going to have to cancel love film, all down to amazon destroying it.
I've got a feeling this is the end of love film, with everyone leaving. Please sort this now, you seven days otherwise am gone!
Horrendous since change over
I've no idea how to use lovefilm now.
I always found the old website easy to navigate. This is a complete mess. I can't change the priority on a disk as it then causes an error and moves all the disks to different lists. I can't delete lists.
I can't work out what films I can stream. I don't know how to add new films. No customer service.
Absolute tripe. Goodbye Lovefilm, hello Netflix.
Amazon - just got better?..
Initial comment:
As with others, I've been with Lovefilm for years..not the heaviest user but had over 60 discs. ALWAYS received the next immediately. Now 3 working days - no disc. There are only 3 help options on the new site (like 'need more envelopes'? etc) and when you try to get 'help', you just get sent 'round and 'round. You cannot see what you have left of your quota, there is not even a place where you can upgrade your package.
In fairness, they did call me back when requested saying ' a 'small' amount of customers are experiencing problems...we are working to fix the issues with the transition'...but couldn't say when.
This has obv. been coming for a while as when you went to sign in on LF you were encouraged to switch to Amazon. Now that you have no choice they should have made sure they got it right. I don't use Amazon for anything else and this is not a good advertisement for their service. If it wasn't for the fact I want (need! lol) to see the rest of Game of Thrones I'd be gone for sure..
Lovefilm was great..
**Update 06/03/14:
To be fair..following my 'phone call yesterday, they have just sent me THREE of my discs...I'm only on one at a time..and they sent an email confirming the dispatch. Had to give them another couple of stars for that! Maybe they're listening and sorting? See how it goes.. : )
K so I moan when I feel the need to - but also therefore, if it occurs, have to give credit where it's due.
Since the above, I've received every disc within 24 hrs. This last time, the disc was cracked and I returned it as such. Just got emailed to say they are again sending the next 3 discs on my list. As mentioned above, I'm on 2 discs p.m., one at a time. Others may have continued to have bad experiences - but it must be hard to fault that?
Move to amazon is a mistake
I have been with lovefilm for a number of years. I enjoyed looking at my previous rentals and how I rated them, I also liked looking at films to rent and quickly watching the trailers. All this has now gone since moving to amazon! I can only see the last 12 months of my rentals and I'm really upset. I am leaving.
New Website = DISASTER
Right, after being a long term Lovefilm member, the old website was adequate. Not the best, but it was user friendly and easy to navigate around.
Well....since Amazon has taken over, the layout is an utter DISASTER. I now get errors trying to update my rental list, and the navigation is a mess.
I totally agree with the other reviews, and unless something is drastically done to fix this mess of a site, I will unfortunately be ending my subscription with Lovefilm.
Amazon Has Taken Over... Whoops!
Now that Amazon has taken the final step of ruining the LoveFilm service for which I have been using for over 10 years it is no longer usable. No Support over the web. No support over the phone without extensive queuing.
The website has now been amalgamated with Amazon's site and as per usual you are not allowed to find any help.
Well done Amazon for being the worst company in the world. taking a perfectly good British created service and ruining it with your American ideas of invisible customer service!
FAIL!
Edit: Now it look like they brought the company with the single intention of shutting it down to increase their streaming and Disc purchase sales. Sever breach of the Companies Act if you ask me.
ITS A RIP OFF
I think its ridiculous that you have to pay £5.99 a month then another £1.89 to watch one episode or £19.99 to get the boxset or £5.99 to watch a movie its ridiculous, this new prime thing is just terrible I don't see the point on keeping it running when you can go to Netflix and watch unlimited movies and tv programmes for only £5.99 a month. ITS A RIP OFF!!!
Awful, confusing service which seems to be designed to up-sell and not friendly for end user..
Having read lots of other dissatisfied reviews, I would like to confirm the disappointment I also have with the Love Film changeover.
The site is not well designed for the user. It seems created solely for up-selling and reaping in more money for Amazon. For instance - browsing the prime movies and tv shows button takes you to a landing page which gives you recommended shows. Hover over these films and they are free to stream. If you actually click on this section ALL THE FILMS ARE PAY-TO-VIEW!! This seems almost intentionally misleading. It's also very difficult to search for an item in prime as it is not obvious which is streaming (if any) without wading through all the options.
I, like others have now had to stop my 8 year old from enjoying access to this site. It is too easy to rack up huge bills without intending to.
I float usually between love film and Netflix, and unless Amazon sort this mess out very soon, I will stick with Netflix for good.
On a technical note - the issues have not been sorted out with streaming. i.e. the streaming is not smooth in most browsers except Chrome. Netflix is fine, as is NowTV and Wuaki, so why can't this big company get it right?
And lastly. Like many, many others, I am most annoyed that only one episode of Vikings is available at a time. If we wanted a TV service, we wouldn't stream!!!
I would have liked to have left a review on Amazon, but it won't let me! Is this a ploy to cut down on the number of customers leaving disparaging remarks on the site?
Rubbish change over to Amazon
We've had the £9.99 package for a couple of years & it's worked well for us...we use a combination of discs by post, and instant streaming... we've never had a problem with discs being delayed and the only real complaint is the delay for new tv series to be released (True Blood, Game of Thrones etc) - but since the change to Amazon this week I returned a disc as normal but another one hasn't been dispatched...I checked my account & it says "due to the way you have allocated discs between your rental lists, there are 0 titles available for dispatch". . i only have 1 rental list & there are 13 discs on it !
to navigate your way round their web site is nigh on impossible and very frustrating..like the other reviewers on here say, you are passed from pillar to post..i don't like the way you try & chose a disc but it seems throw up options to purchase as well, with your payment card details stored on the amazon web site it would be easy for someone to buy a disc without even realising it..
I am going to give it a week or so and see if things improve - so far it's an utter fail and I can see Amazon losing a lot of Lovefilm customers.
Lovefilm, why did you sell out to Amazon?
I've had Lovefilm membership for about 8 years now and in that time had very little problem with the service. Considering the amount of films I've rented over the years, I may have had 2-3 occasions when the dvd didn't play, but Lovefilm were quick to replace it.
No sooner than they passed it to Amazon and already I'm having problems. My first film of the month is about 4 days late and when I logged into my account it doesn't even show as being dispatched nor have I received my usual email telling me it's on the way.
I also noticed that my subscription has changed from 2 films a month to 1 film. I don't recall Amazon telling me of this change, and no doubt they will try to charge me the same fee.
Lastly, on Lovefilm I was able to view my entire viewing history which helped me recommend a film to a friend, or check my list to see if I had rented something previously before renting again. Now I noticed the list only goes back 3 years. I wish they had let me know about trimming my list before doing so, then I would have copied it onto my PC.
When I try to report my problems each link takes me around the houses. Each link just loops around to another link and eventually back to where I started.
I'm truly disappointed in the way Lovefilm has gone since moving over to Amazon.
I will give them a chance to reply to my queries, but feel that it might be time to close my account. Shame though, as I always enjoyed watching a huge genre of films over the years.
Regards,
Terri
Already thinking of leaving since Amazon !
What happened there ?!
I chose lovefilm to watch Viking.
Season 2 was released, but there's only 1 episode.
It is completely rebranded, I feel like like I'm on amazon supposed to shop some shit where I only want to be in the good old love film planet.
But it's gone now...
