Good staff

Good staff. Friendly and helpful.

Ridiculous that items lost by the airlines are then used by a third party for profit however. airline lost our bag and we had to pay retrieval fee.

Not the fault of staff. Another way for private companies to engineer profit. Shame on the airline/airport for not taking responsibility.

Helpful

I only wanted to buy a luggage tag and the assistant was so helpful, from lending me a pen to actually putting it on my suitcase for me.

Excellent service

Excellent service. I left my watch at security and reported it as soon as I realised they took my details. By the time I’d reached the gate they ‘d found it but didn’t have time to get it to me before my plane took off. They sent it to left luggage with my details for me to collect on my return. Although lost property want open on my return- it was very early morning , I returned the next day to collect my watch.

High recovery charges

I inadvertently left a small plastic case of masonry drills (which cost £5) in my hand luggage, which was confiscated at Edinburgh airport. It was handed on to Luggage Point. When I contacted them for its recovery, they offered to post it to my home for £20.20, or to keep it for collection at the airport for £12. Certainly not worth paying such excessive charges.

Reply from Luggage Point

Thank you for your feedback, Gordon.

We understand your frustration over the charges, particularly for a lower-value item. However, our fees reflect the real costs involved in operating a secure, insured, and fully staffed lost property and confiscated items recovery service within a major UK airport.

When an item is transferred to us by airport security, it must be logged, securely stored, and held for up to 30 days. This process involves staff time to man the store and respond to enquiries, airport rental overheads, insurance, and system maintenance, regardless of an item’s size or value.

Posting items also involves packaging, handling, and in many cases, completion of customs paperwork or safety declarations as the items are prohibited from airlines and often postal services. For lower-value items, we completely understand that the cost may outweigh replacemen, but we believe in giving passengers the option to recover what was lost, rather than having it destroyed.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your view.

Efficient and courteous at Glasgow airport

My sister and I travelled from Gatwick to Glasgow recently. We had used special assistance through the airports for the first time and commend both. Once through arrivals we realised my sister had left her coat and her mobile phone on board. The staff at Glasgow luggage point were so helpful and assured us the items would be found. We went on our way home and the following morning I had a telephone call from Luggage point informing me they had them both. We were so relieved. Thank you.

Lost Kindle

Lyn ? Sorry if I have got the wrong name, but Luggage Point at Glasgow airport went above and beyond to get my Kindle returned to me.
It was my fault I left it on the plane, however both during my phone call and meeting them in person at Glasgow airport, they could not have been more helpful in hunting down my missing Kindle and handing it me me in person.
Great service.
Many thanks.

Highly recommended if you ever need help with lost property!

Simple and quick …

Simple process to get back some items that weren’t allowed through security. Collection not far from arrivals so I could pick them up on my return journey. Fair price too.

Lost phone at airport

So much mum left her phone behind at Birmingham airport ans was very anxious on return. She had a fair idea where she had misplaced it.
I emailed the missing luggage team and straight away I getting responses...reassuring emails from Daira and other team members. It so happens that within a few days of my email and the guys attempting to source the correct phone it has been shipped and is safely on its way back to mum at a slight cost.
The guys have been amazing so helpful and prompt. Thanku to all.

When I telephoned I spoke to a lady…

When I telephoned I spoke to a lady called Julie at the luggage point.
Julie was my first point of contact and she was amazing. My son and his partner took our 1 yr old granddaughter to Portugal, this was her first holiday. They accidentally left the babies case in the Peaky Blinder themed bar. The case wasn’t labelled so the staff couldn’t identify the owner. After explaining the situation to Julie, she was amazing. Offering a calm approach, was Julie was very reassuring.
Julie then went on to say that they may have identified the missing case, and I was to give details of the contents, once I had given the details to Julie, she stated she needed to speak to her colleague, and she would be
in contact via phone before she went home when her shift ended.
Julie telephoned within 5 minutes, to inform me that the case had been found and that I had described the contents exactly . I couldn’t thank Julie enough . She was just amazing, from start to finish.
All I can say is that Julie is an absolute credit to the team. The aftercare was also brilliant from Julie, taking the time to explained what happens next, and how my son and his partner could collect the case. This was all confirmed in an email, which I could forward to my son & partner.
