Lumiere has been an amazing experience. The mentors are highly prepared and always ready to guide you whenever you need it. They make you feel supported at every step and help you grow both academically and personally. I’m very grateful for the constant encouragement and for all the opportunities this program has opened for me.

Lumiere was such a bizzare experience for me, my mentor was well prepared and in each session I learned something new!

There are a lot of advantageous insights, which was gained through this program. First of all, the support that provided by program manager and mentor. Additionally, there was few moments when I couldn't be on the track with the deadlines. These moments as program have taken this into account, I was able to complete the task by postponing the deadline. Therefore, this provided me a great chance to be able to accomplish not only Lumiere but also successfully write research paper.

I was part of the Individual Lumiere Research Program, and it’s safe to say I’ve learned so much! From working with a PhD student who is genuinely passionate about the field I’d like to pursue, to conducting my own research, writing a strong research paper, and double-checking information to ensure it doesn’t mislead the reader. On top of that, I read lots of papers related to my field of interest and my chosen topic. Overall, it was such a valuable and truly enjoyable experience.

My mentor helped me understand my research topic of focus, learn the structure of a research paper as well as other types of papers, refine my writing, and help me gain insight into the publication of a paper. All of these experiences will help me with my future research in many ways. I’m so grateful to have gotten this opportunity.

I really loved how much attention to detail my mentor had because it allowed me to figure out where I needed to improve, gain the relevant skills and learn so much more about my field.

The program manager was a delight, very supportive and kind alongside every person I worked with, during my interviewing process, I felt very confident and reassured due to the patient and pleasant nature of the interviewer. My mentor was also really great help, and I enjoyed working with him. I got to learn a lot and develop new skills, I'm also grateful for the fully funded financial aid I received. The whole experience was amazing, and I would love to do it again.

I think what differs Lumiere Education from other research opportunities for highschoolers out there is that they really value their students' experience and ensure they are having an enjoyable learning process.

Before i got accepted the Individual Research Programme with a full scholarship, i thought that it is one of the gold-digger research opportunity. Then immediately i started to question "Which scammer would give $2990 scholarship to a single student just based on their financial statement?" , so my doubts about the program changed 180°

Then another shock caught me when my journey begins, everyone including my mentor, writing center and program manager was super caring and helpfull! Lumiere exceeds my expectations about itself holistically. It was a great opportunity and i am very gratefull to give me a chance for making my own academic paper.

I had the wonderful opportunity to be accepted to the Individual Research Program on full financial aid, and I am very grateful to the Lumiere team for their support. I was able to transform my ideas into a well-done research paper, with the guidance of my mentor, whose advice and suggestions proved to be very helpful. I recommend Lumiere Education to every student out there who’s struggling with starting research, or wants to explore intellectually. This has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life!

The Lumiere Research Scholar Program has been an enriching and challenging experience that shaped how I approach learning and problem-solving. It taught me the importance of patience, persistence, and openness to feedback. Through the process, I discovered how rewarding it can be to work through uncertainty and gradually build clarity in my thinking.

I am especially grateful to my mentor, Ms. Meena Menon, whose guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback made this journey both rigorous and meaningful. She helped me refine my ideas, challenged me to think deeper, and supported me at every stage.

What I value most is that Lumiere gave me the space to grow—not only as a student, but as an independent thinker. The program helped me develop habits of discipline, curiosity, and reflection that I know will stay with me beyond this single project. More than producing a final draft, I take away a deeper sense of confidence in my ability to tackle complex challenges.

My experience with Lumiere Education has been transformational. I joined the program with a research topic on Energy sustainability with ML, but Dr. Gaetano taught me how to be an interdisciplinary and well-rounded student. I conducted research on Machine Learning for Vector Boson Polarization Discrimination in High-Energy Physics under the mentorship of Dr. Gaetano Barone. My mentor provided exceptional guidance, pushing me to think critically and develop college-level research skills that have fundamentally changed how I approach problems.

The program structure was flexible and accommodating - I could schedule meetings effectively with my mentor, ensuring consistent progress on my research. I successfully designed a predictive model using Python to detect vector boson scattering and vector boson fusion, developing both technical programming skills and deep subject matter expertise.

The outcomes speak for themselves: my research paper is currently under final review for publication in the World Journal of Nuclear Science and Technology, with additional submissions for arXiv and SSRN. I’ve been invited to the International Forum on Research Excellence in October. This experience has been instrumental in shaping my college preparation - I’m now targeting Columbia or Princeton for continued research opportunities.

The program’s impact extends beyond my personal growth. I’ve had multiple people reach out on LinkedIn asking for advice about Lumiere, and two friends successfully joined the program based on my recommendation. This speaks to the program’s reputation and the genuine value it provides to motivated students seeking authentic research experience.

My time with Lumiere was honestly such a good experience. I got to work on a research project I really cared about, and my mentor was helpful and supportive throughout the process. My program manager was also helpful in guiding the overall experience and keeping things organized. Overall, it was a rewarding and meaningful journey.

My experience with Lumiere was completely unexpected. The experience was transformative. Lumiere changed the way I perceive myself and the world around me. They provided me with an exceptional experience alongside an outstanding mentor, who was super supportive and positive. I learned a great deal, not only in my area of research but also about being a researcher, a human, and a critical thinker. They excel in being supportive, helpful, and understanding. I really enjoyed the Lumiere Research Program, because it allowed for me to answer questions I have been curious about, and research new ideas for me to explore in the future. In addition, the unwavering support for my program directors, managers, and my mentor, helped me feel supported throughout this process. As this was my first research paper, I am happy and proud of the progress that happened this summer, and I wish to participate again soon.

I had a wonderful mentor who gave very clear instructions and small tasks in each session, which made it easier for me to keep up with deadlines. She set up priority tasks and gave reasonable amounts of work.

Although the research is self-guided, Lumiere provided excellent resources to assist me with my research journey. The Lumiere staff consistently checked in with me and let me know about supporting materials. Additionally, my mentor, Kathryn Wall, was amazing. We met every week and she was always available to answer any questions. She gave me great feedback. She also helped me to focus my research topic. I am grateful to Lumiere for giving me the confidence to succeed in my research.

My experience with Lumiere was extremely educational, and exciting. Having no prior research experience, this entire process of conducting research from scratch with the help of my mentor for my own publication was very exhausting, yet all the more rewarding at the end when I submitted my paper to my target journal. I truly believe that Lumiere provides a great opportunity for students to take their first major steps into the world of academia, allowing them to make a considerable contribution to their respective field of study at a young age. Equipped with various new research skills and tools, I now look forward to further delving into more research projects in the future at university and beyond. I want to highlight the excellent, detailed writing centre feedback provided when requested as it was the key to perfecting my paper. Additionally, my mentor and program manager were very understanding of the busy schedule I was working with, making the process more flexible in accordance with my workload at different times and helping me keep to deadlines to the greatest extent they could. Personally, I didn't experience any difficulties during the entire research process owing to the solid infrastructure set in place by Lumiere to ensure that every student is as supported as they can possibly be throughout. However, it is important to note that the final responsibility of producing a high-quality final publication still lies with the student researcher at the end of the day, regardless of how much support and guidance is provided by the team here at Lumiere, making it vital for students to be committed throughout if they plan on pursuing research in the form of a paper.

I've been a research mentor for Lumiere for a couple years. Overall, it's been a great experience. They provide all the necessary resources to be successful. The program is structured, and there are program managers and other management that can help whenever needed. Very rewarding to help students develop research skills and perform research.
