As a wedding photographer
As a wedding photographer, I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at the historic Lympne Castle and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The castle has a rich history dating back to the 12th century, when it first opened its doors to visiting nobles. Its location, with the remains of Portus Lemanis beneath the foundations, adds to its significance and the fact that much of the stone used to construct the castle and the neighboring church came from this site, speaks volumes about its history.
The castle has been tastefully modernized to provide its guests with comfortable, 21st-century amenities while still retaining its medieval charm. It was an honor to be part of a wedding that took place in such a historic setting and I was pleased to see that the castle's staff takes great pride in making their guests feel welcome.
As a photographer, I also appreciate the stunning architecture and the stunning views of the surrounding area. The castle's architecture is a perfect blend of modern and ancient styles, with the stone walls and grand archways providing a beautiful backdrop for wedding photos.
Although I did not personally experience any ghost sightings, I have heard that some people claim to have seen ghosts still happily going about their business after many centuries. Whether you believe in ghosts or not, there is no denying that Lympne Castle is a truly unique and special place, steeped in history and full of character.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend Lympne Castle as a wedding venue. It is the perfect combination of historical charm and modern amenities, making it an unforgettable experience for both the bride and groom and their guests. Whether you are looking for an intimate, elegant wedding or a grand, fairy-tale event, Lympne Castle is the perfect choice.
Kindest regards
