I find it difficult to assimilate the…

I find it difficult to assimilate the cost of a subscription via direct debit and the cost to pay normal prices. I have been unable to find any information on why this should be and must surmise that there is probably more to the transaction by direct debit.
In todays world of scammers I can only conclude that there is something sinister here instead of being just straightforward.

Hi Linda,

Thank you for your feedback.

Please be assured that direct debit is a safe, commonly used and convenient way to manage regular payments such as magazine subscriptions or other monthly bills. Direct debit is an instruction authorised by the customer and arranged directly between your bank and the service provider for funds to transfer on a specific date. It is a secure and effective method for recurring transactions. Should the customer wish to, a direct debit can be cancelled with their bank ahead of future payments to prevent renewals.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes,

I picked up a Kids National Geographic…

I picked up a Kids National Geographic with the offer of nearly 50% for a yearly subscription. Offer ending 15th July 2025. This was 25th June when I applied only to find the offer was only for 29% on a one year subscription, no where could I sign up for for an auto renew for nearly 50%. So in reality this offer does not exist!!!! Offer code LK244 or NGK244 neither worked.

Careful using their subscriptions, better to go direct.

They messed up all the addresses on the subscriptions I made, completely random addresses were added

They have no means of contacting them on their website

Good content

Good content, beautiful photos and protected with a plastic wrap.

They listen to what gardeners want and don't roll out the same repetitive articles each year.

The experience was going very well

The experience was going very well, especially the statement that the current magazine would be sent straight away as this is a gift BUT right at the end it has changed to the next magazine AFTER the whole thing has been processed, which is Not the same at all??!!

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your feedback.

It sounds like you are referring to a renewable payment, which would suggest you ordered a subscription payable by Direct Debit. As the publishers manage their Direct Debits and renewal payments themselves - it sounds like the email you received was sent by the publisher of Fortune magazine directly.

We'd recommend contacting them through one of the methods listed on their website, as they will be best placed to look into your subscription: https://fortune.com/customerservice/

Alternatively - if you want to send over all of the relevant order information via email to: enquiries@magazine.co.uk - we can forward this onto the publisher for you.

Best wishes,

Excellent value and price

I was delighted with the speed and ease of setting up a subscription to Kitchen Garden. I bought the current magazine today and was extremely impressed with the free seeds and great content of the magazine. Looking forward to my magazine arriving soon.

Mixed

I ordered on 23/2 and received a confirmation email. I immediately emailed this company asking a) that I was getting paper copies and b) that I did not want the subscription to roll over ie I just wanted the 26 editions and that was an end to it, and until I got these answers I wanted my order put on hold. I did not think these questions were answered when ordering and this lack of clarity should have been a red flag. Over 3 weeks later and they cannot find my order. They've sent a few emails asking for different pieces of information (stalling tactics) and then taking a week to respond with another request for more information, however they had no such difficulty in taking my £65! I have now instructed my bank to put the amount taken into dispute and to refund me which will be at a cost to this company. Today I have received an email giving me a subscription number and telling me that money will be take out after every 26 issues have been sent ie rolling contract unless I cancel with them (a question I wanted answering 3 weeks ago before they processed my order!). I went through the process of filling in a brief form cancelling the rolling contract by giving my subscription number and surname. After it was sent, nowhere does it say 'your subscription has been cancelled', the only thing it says is that you can re-subscribe at any time so I have no proof for future that I have requested the subscription will not roll over and I certainly do not trust this company. Considering the 3 weeks that this company has spent stalling for time and supposedly being unable to find my order, whilst sitting on my money, I want nothing to do with them. I will also ensure that my bank block any future payments to this company as Magazine.co.uk and also Immediate Media London Co Ltd which they advise is where future payments will go if I do not cancel the rolling contract. I took out this subscription as I seldom leave my house but from start to finish this has been a nightmare and has added to my anxiety. Avoid at all costs.
EDIT: This has been sorted out very quickly and efficiently. My order has been found and after a couple of emails I have the reassurance I needed to proceed with my order - all thanks to Alison who apologised, took ownership of the problem, quickly investigated and sorted everything out. Thank you

Relatively easy site to navigate

Relatively easy site to navigate. What it doesn’t make clear is that you can buy a subscription for a gift. It needs to be clear about this at the start. Otherwise quite easy.

No delivery of Magazine

No delivery of Magazine.
Unfortunately I am unable to give a zero rate for this company as 1 star is all you can give.
I ordered a magazine for my grandson, paying for a six month subscription, it did not arrive, none of them have arrived. You cannot contact by phone as they only deal via email, replies have been unsatisfactory, on their website they have a automatic chat feature also completely useless only directing you to the email address. This company asks you to contact the publisher but since I purchased it from Magazine.co.uk my purchasing contract is with them.

Dear Jan,

I am very sorry to hear that your grandson has not yet received his magazine. I can see that the order was successfully sent to the publisher on the 16th of January.

Since this is a monthly publication, the publishers will start the subscription with the next available issue. It looks like your order could have just missed the print order for the February issue. The March issue has just been released this week, in which case I would expect this to be delivered to you within 2-3 working days.

I can see that you have emailed our Customer Services team, I will contact the publisher directly to ask for confirmation of the first issue and I will reply to you within the same email thread to advise.

Please accept my apologies again for the disappointment this has caused.

The only adventure about Adventure Box is when it will arrive

I ordered a magazine - Adventure Box - for my granddaughter in the middle of December last year. It’s now the first of March and there is still no sign of anything. I’m told the Jan/feb edition is on its way together with the March edition. The Jan/feb edition is clearly already out of date and there is also no sign of the free gift she was supposed to get. As a contrast I ordered “what in the world” magazine through another company for her sister and she has received her free gift and 3 monthly magazines so far. It’s very disappointing for a six year old girl when a Christmas gift falls through.

Edit: Thank you magazine.co.uk for your response but I have had enough and want to cancel my subscription, as I advised you in an email on Saturday 1 March. I have received no response from that.

Dear Linda

I'm very sorry to hear of the disappointment this delivery delay has caused. As this purchase was a Christmas Gift it is standard for the subscription not to start until after Christmas however this particular publisher also dispatches from Canada, so it could be that there has been an unfortunate shipping problem in this instance.

Please be assured that I have contacted the publisher this morning to ask them to advise with regards to the delivery of both issues and the Free gift.

Please accept my apologies again. As soon as I have heard back from the publisher, I will contact you via email with an update.

Best wishes,
The magazine.co.uk team

Edit: 03/03/25

I am very sorry to hear that you wish to cancel your subscription. I have checked our customer services queries and I am unable to locate the email that you sent on the 1st of March, could it be that it was sent to the publisher directly? Please can you forward the email to us at enquiries@magazine.co.uk and we will respond to you within the same email thread to establish a solution as quickly as possible.

I ordered mountain biking uk year subscription to Vancouver before Christmas as a present to my son in law. Having emailed as no magazine arrived I did get email assuring me February issue was dispatched. 8 weeks later no magazines January or February. I am quite horrified!! So far 91 pounds for nothing. I’m actually wanting a refund if my magazines don’t appear within next week.
Very disappointed. Rachel :(
