Magowan Tyres Reviews 

Having used Magowan Tyres now on multiple occasions, I cannot praise them highly enough. They are helpful, reasonably priced and explain everything thoroughly. You do have to wait sometimes as they are always busy but well worth the wait.

Got a puncture fixed in the Carrickfergus branch yesterday morning. Aaron and Kevin were both very helpful and I was on the road very quickly again.
Would recommend these guys to anyone.

I find them very good, however, what I don't find very good is booking an appointment and having to sit and wait two hours to get your car back. Booked in for 10am and at 12pm I get the keys to the car back. Why have appointment slots if you can't commit to them.

Absolute disgrace.

A big thanks to the Mallusk depot for helping me get my car back on the road again. The gents in reception were very helpful and courteous. Highly recommended!

Avoid this crowd at all costs!! They can’t be trusted, pushing to replace a tyre that doesn’t need replaced. Thankfully we saved £200 going to a reputable outlet who confirmed the tyre was fine.
I thought I was a loyal customer but it just shows you this crowd can’t be trusted.

My wife had a slow puncture because of a screw, thankfully this was fixed with no issues. Getting back to the house my wife noticed two cuts in the tread on the tyre that was repaired. I rang Kevin who suggested bringing the car down for inspection which my wife did. Tyre inspected and told we needed a new tyre. Both Kevin and Aaron were surprised when my wife said that’s okay but the car is leased so we need to take it to Kwikfit. Luckily we were told it was safe to drive and took the car to Kwikfit. After Kwikfit inspected the tyre they couldn’t see the issue and couldn’t find a fault. TYRE DID NOT NEED REPLACED!
Magowan Tyres cannot be trusted and would have replaced a tyre a perfectly good tyre. Stay away from these rogues!!

Have visited their Mallusk branch twice– for Tyres and brakes and then more recently for a service. Very professional and pleasant staff and spacious/modern/clean waiting area. Price for minor service was average and tyres seem on the cheaper side. I've been to other places that have you awkwardly drive your car into the garage and then have people randomly tell you to go to different locations. At Magowan's you just hand them the keys and relax in the waiting area– as it should be. Will be using here from now on as a result of the professional service. Booking done online so you know what you're paying in advance. No messing around or up-selling.

Have used this place for years on a recommendation. I travel from Holywood to Mallusk to get my tyres and yearly MOT check. Staff always pleasant and they are reasonably priced

I was searching a tyre for a masseatti grand turismo, mcgowens gave me the option of a " continental " no mention of a P ZERO which is the only recommended tyre for this car.
Seems they want to sell inferior tyres over the recommended tyre. Check before you buy to see if the cheap brand they are punting is suitable for your car

Called in this morning and went to a bald headed guy at reception i can only describe him as smug, rude and very unprofessional! WONT BE BACK AND WILL NO LONGER RECOMMEND TO OTHERS WHEN ASKED WERE TO GO FOR TYRE SERVICE!

Many thanks to Kevin and Aaron for the fantastic customer service ,I purchased tyres from this company and after some months defects in all four tyres appeared which was a manufacturers issue and the company kindly covered this and replaced all four tyres ,great company ,great customer service,I can highly recommend Magowans Tyres

Hubby thought the exhaust was loose and wanted it checking.. it was looked at and he was told it wasn't going to fall off and all ok..gave hubby some sound advice and he was soon on his way.. great customer service and no charge..

Needed my front wheels aligned as one tyre was getting badly scrubbed on one side. These guys set about the work, but after an hour I was summoned to the desk to say they couldn’t get it loosened so needed more time and money. (Can’t believe I allowed it to continue). Anyway, gave them the money for the alignment and £500 for new tyres. Three months later I lost air from the previously misaligned tyre, and on inspection the alignment hadn’t been fixed! On visiting Magowans they said it was fine when it left the depot and I must have hit a ramp or something- complete bull. Useless workmanship, zero customer service, zero integrity, can’t look you in the eye.

Very disappointing

Avoid this company. I bought my car in for an mot check. They said i needed three tyres i needed front brake discs and therfore brake pads to. They told me i needed all the rubber brake hoses renewed as it would fail the mot which was nxt day. I said to renew the hoses as i was skeptical about the rest. barry said they would keep the car overnight and do the brake hoses in the morning as i would fail mot otherwise. He phoned me next morning to tell me my car would fail the mot because they couldnt get the old brake hoses off. I was shocked. He said to come and collect it and that they would need done another time. He was trying to charge me 200 to do these brake hoses. I picked my car up and paid 48 quid for mot check and light check. Again barry said the car will fail the mot because the brake hoses need renewed. In barrys words " they see what we see".I bought it to the mot and it passed no problem. This Newtownabbey branch of magowans is a disgrace these people are gangsters and impolite rip off agents. I will be spreading the word.Avoid at all costs please. What they wanted to put on my car for a so called mot pass would av come to £1000 pounds. Im so glad i smelt a rat!!
