If I could give zero stars, that's what this lot would be getting

I won't do business with this company again. You can't use your Magshop online account to cancel either subscriptions or the auto-renew function on subscriptions - you have to ring the company to do those things, as confirmed by one of their CSRs on today's phone call. (Spoiler 1 - they ignore emails, Spoiler 2 - they suck at phone calls too.)

And then when you think you've finally got it sorted, someone rings you for bank account or credit card details (bank account details? credit card details? over the phone? in this day and age? really???) because they had 'problems' issuing the refund cheque!!! (Of course they did - I discovered today that the sub was being charged to my old credit card, which expired last year, and I don't think cheques are a thing in NZ anymore.)

For what it's worth, I emailed to cancel my sub on 15 August (using the email address on THEIR website) before the previous sub ran out. They never replied and then on 21 October, I got the first magazine on the next sub. I rang Magshop that day and cancelled the sub again. (The CSR I spoke with confirmed that they had received my original email and he had no idea why it hadn't been actioned...) I was told there would be no more magazines and I would be refunded the balance of the latest sub.

The second magazine on the new sub turned up on Saturday and today I got the phone call asking for bank account/credit card details. I read whoever it was the riot act and hung up, as you do. I then rang the company, using the phone number on their web site, and asked what was going on. I suggested they just send the rest of the magazines on the latest sub and THEN cancel it but they said they couldn't do that (eye roll). They said they would refund me if I gave them my bank account or updated credit card details.

There's no way I'm giving them my current credit card details or bank account number just so they can rip me off some more.

Do better, Magshop!

Rip off, untrustworthy & potential scams from using them

I concur with other reviewers and wish I had seen them before bothering with Magshop. They are dishonest to the core and do not reply or respond to issues. The intentionally decided to remove me from an ongoing subscription that I’d had for 12 years. Even with price rises during that time, they have jacked the price up almost 40% since the last rise 12 months ago. I received a letter quoting a price, then when I called to query why they had changed my ongoing subscription without my agreement, the agent wanted me to pay higher still…into whose pocket does that go? Then when I asked to be transferred to a manager, they said they would have to ring back to my mobile. This is a scam as I have no way of knowing whether the person ringing is from Magshop. Do not trust them AT ALL!!!!! In 3 weeks after multiple attempts to contact, they have NOT responded. TERRIBLE!!!

Avoid - use isubscribe instead

Stay away - magshop has messed up my Women's Weekly subscription. I had subscriptions for defunct magazines Cooking and Family Circle to Women's Weekly and mag shop have paralleled these remaining issues - so I've effectively paid for 8 magazines that I haven't received. They haven't responded to multiple emails and I spent 30mins on the phone to the customer support team trying to explain the situation. When I asked to be transferred to someone else I was on hold for another 30 mins and this still isn't resolved. I've lost hope that I will receive a refund for the 8 issues they haven't supplied.

I've never had any issues with isubscribe AND their customer support team is local and responsive.
