Martin and Co Shawlands have managed 2 flats on my behalf for a number of years now.

Regular property inspections are carried out supported by reports with photos which I find really useful.

The team in the office are also very helpful particularly Javaid, Bella, and Lynda and have resolved the occasional issue at the properties without fuss.

I could not recommend Martin and Co Shawlands more highly.

We never had a single issue with this agency for three whole years. Regular property inspections were carried out every six months, we kept the house in good condition, paid rent on time without fail, and thoroughly cleaned the property the day before returning the keys.

The problems only started once we moved out. Since mid-November, they have been attempting to unfairly deduct from our deposit, claiming damages that simply do not exist. The property was left in the same condition as when we moved in. We repeatedly asked for proof of these alleged damages, and the only evidence provided was a few very questionable photos of areas that had clearly been cleaned.

On top of this, the rent was increased every year by £40 — from £780 in 2023 to £840 in 2025 — and the same flat is now being advertised for £920 across all platforms.

Overall, this has been a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this agency. New tenants should be aware.

Got locked out my flat, Javaid Haq drove through to give me the spare keys from the office. Second time he's done this for me. Much appreciated.

Through all the different agencies I tried, Martin & Co. were by far the fastest and they were very responsive to emails and phone calls. I highly recommend them.

Looking to expand my property portfolio, I received a call from Cliff with some properties they were marketing for sale. A viewing was organised the following day, my offer verbally accepted the next day and six weeks later I took possession of the keys. I have never had such a smooth transaction in my life...and only because Cliff with his experience and professionalism made the purchase seamless, helping me with any queries from my lawyers and guiding me through the process.

Have used Martin & Co. Shawlands for many years and have had no issues until my last tenant left me with a substantial repair bill after they left. Javaid the proprietor was inspirational in negotiating with the tenant to pay the full amount of the repair bill otherwise I would be out of pocket for a huge amount.

Having been a tenant with Martin & Co Shawlands for over two and a half years now, I have had thoroughly positive experiences with responsive agents who always did what was in their power to resolve the issue at hand.

Especially in today's market, you would struggle to find an agency that works to the satisfaction of both the tenant and the landlord as much as they do, so I can only recommend using their services.

I have been a landlord for a number of years and staff have been great to deal with. A particular help has been Linda Fisher who has sorted out a number of problems.

Hanif was incredibly helpful and responsive. I never had to wait any time at all for an email response to any queries I had, and the whole move in process was smoother than I've had with any other letting agents.

My tenant has just left and Linda Fisher, in particular has been really helpful in organising remedial work for me in a timely manner before the flat is handed back to me. i also have another property with martin and co Shawlands
