Our flat is on the market - luckily for us our agent is not Martin & Co, however... we had a viewing request from a gentleman who wished to see our flat at 9am on a Sunday. The day before the viewing was due to take place I found a letter in our mailbox, the letter was from Martin & Co and was an attempt to get our business/allow Martin & Co to market our property. It was from the same person who had booked to view our property - the name was quite unusual so there wasn’t any doubt that it was the same person. The letter (with handwritten envelope) was sent the same day the viewing booking was made, I therefore think he only booked a viewing in order to obtain our flat number so that he could send his badly written letter (in which he proclaims he has many buyers waiting to buy a property in Sutton, even though our property is in Morden). His mobile number was on the letter so I called him and asked him to confirm he was attending the viewing the following morning, he claimed he never made the booking - blatant lie. He claimed to be a cash buyer when booking the viewing. If I hadn’t checked our mailbox the day before the viewing and found this letter we would have spent hours on the morning of the viewing cleaning and tidying on my husband’s only day off, whilst also trying to look after our two small children, only for no viewing to take place. There was an outside possibility that there was another person with the same name who would turn up to the viewing - needless to say the time of the booked viewing came and went and no one showed up.
