Shame I can’t give no stars. Signed up for 6 months by mistake and missed the ‘cooling’ off period to cancel the subscription. Despite my mistake and apologising to Match for my error they refuse to cancel or to amend my subscription to monthly (offered to pay the difference). Stuck with them for another four months and paying for something that I believe is full of old and fake profiles. Wish I’d read the reviews. Absolute shambles

I wish I’d read reviews before signing up. A complete waste of money. Despite indicating my gender preference I was constantly presented with the opposite. When you get a match, you have to pay more to talk to them. 6 month subscription cannot be cancelled. In the end I closed my account while still paying their monthly fee, which I’ll pay for next four months. That’s how bad match.com is, I’d rather pay to NOT have it.

Not much has changed in the past few months, subscription a little too high with minimal results, too many weird people on the platform...

I am just finishing my second six month subscription at Match, the first was during March to September 2021.
I'm quite a good looking chap in his 50s, slim, physically fit and well educated and the response rate has been ok but 95% of these ladies are very plain and unattractive looking. Sure, they might be nice people but I'm looking for a partner not just a friend.
In 2021 I met only one lady in the flesh but had a few replies which always ended up 'ghosted' for no particular reason.
In 2022 I've met two ladies, so I can vouch that at least a few of the profiles are genuine.
This year I became very suspicious after reading online reviews that there are possibly fake profiles posted to lure men to renew their subscriptions.
So why do most of my matches always end up ghosting me quite soon, my replies have been polite and considerate? Do handsome, eligible, solvent bachelors always magically pop up and cause these ladies to look their way minutes before I'm due a phone call or a meet up with them?!
I have also read in many reviews that 80% of all online dating profiles are male and 75% of these have wives / girlfriends already, so it's possible that the handsomer 'players' are hoovering up the better looking ladies; plus those ladies will be getting 95% of all male responses anyway because us men are genetically inclined to be appearance orientated and 'like' these choices.
I've also noticed that many of these attractive looking ladies who withdraw their profiles re-post a few weeks later, maybe they've discovered that these 'players' are insincere?
I have noticed a pattern: there's occasionally particularly attractive ladies on Match with only one photo, very little written on their profile and who often 'like' me which is rare for women to do because it seems that the etiquette is that men do the 'liking' first. They always ghost after a few brief messages or their profile is suddenly withdrawn!
The latest 'match' wrote me long messages for a week and seemed very keen to call me but "her dog was sick" so she missed our phone date last weekend! Then we rescheduled for last night and I heard nothing from her. I noticed that her profile was withdrawn today after I messaged and asked her if everything was ok? She'd told me she was a consultant doctor at the local hospital but when I Googled the clinicians in her departments there was no sign of her!
Draw your own conclusions, but for me it's not worth the £20 / month subscription.

This site is about making money and not matchmaking

I've been on the site for about a month and the scammers make it almost impossible to have a good experience. I believe the company could do more to vet real people seeking real matches. They serve up people that are absolutely not a fit and they could easily screen them out because of keyword matching. I have seen more hunters and dead animals in the last month than I ever care to see the rest of my life. It's fairly gruesome to be looking at so many dead animals when I'm an animal lover. They serve up people that smoke when I don't smoke and people that like to party when I am not a partier... just to filll views. They serve up the same people over and over and over again. I feel I almost have PTSD from all of the fake people that seem to be a really good match but were not real people at all other than criminals.

Why take us through a survey to learn about us to then not match us with like minded people?

I'm sure they are making the stock holders happy with all of the subscriptions because you have to stay on a long time to find quality. If you can get through the challenges of people trying to connect who have no interest in dating but only in scamming then you may just have a shot at finding somebody nice. The only reason I'm not wrecked is because I did find one very nice friend. We share War Stories.

I am in the tech industry and I have patents so I know that proper matching really does and can exist if the company's number one goal is to help people find true love.

Appalling customer service access. I'm being charged twice the advertising subscription price, and unable to address this issue with this company.... warning to others...

Even if you are a primary member you're going to be wasting tons of time scrolling through old profiles that people don't login forever as there is a free option....

Just awful. At least on the free sites I know I have to weed out the unsuitable etc.
Match is at the moment, in cooperation with all sorts of other web sites. So there are significant hurdles in consistency of data, as well as men still living with their partners, men openly just wanting affairs and sex. You have to be really strong minded to persevere. There is no way of having a dialogue with Match. Hence these things need saying in public. July2022.

What you've heard is true! Old, UN-active ads, the few real ones in your area don't think you'll notice when you meet them that they used a picture from at least 10 years ago!!! I'll stay alone! Same old ads, same real people who are on there for years. Hmmm wonder why! And wonder why Match doesn't tell anyone the prices! PATHETIC SCAM!

I would like to make aware all people using Match.com dating site. I purchased a subscription for 6 months which was on offer for £4.99 a month. They charged me extra £9.99 a month without my consent. I contacted customer service and they are telling me this was an automatic change and they cannot refund my money and I have to pay this for 6 months. Looks like a direct fraud.

TRASH. Took my money and locked me out, no reason given, no customer service available. Thieves.

Absolute scam and rip off. Kept saying my login details were wrong and never sent me a reset link, despite my requesting it 6 times. Also continued to take money from my account despite cancellation-they check your bank account on various dates until they can get it. Never again.

Beware of cheap special offers with impossible-to-understand small print intentionally designed to trick you. I thought I was going to pay £9.90 for the second month and they've just taken £49.89 for one month!!!!!!! This company is not honest!!!!!

I signed up with match.com / match.dk (same company, background image basically the same), because I read it was rated number one.

since signing last weekend, I have received an email telling me to wait for instructions on how to get started.
No instructions have arrived!
The email also indicates that I have to activate the account.
No activation link provided.
All links in the email go to a login page, and every time I try to login it tells me the credentials are incorrect.
As I know that credentials I tried to use to login are correct it looks like they are trying to steal email address and password information from people.
After reading the reviews of everyone else on here I am changing my passwords on my accounts.

**AVOID DO NOT USE* Site is a complete scam. Card is charged & then you cannot access your profile.
Futhermore they use your pictures for a fake profile! As you cannot access or delete it. You cannot contact them, they never reply!
Absolute fraud.

I was banned for reporting someone masturbating on the lives and myself and someone else was banned up to 20hours, and I get threatened with a warning that my account will be removed because I did the moderation teams job. Its disgusting. I wouldnt waste your time on this site.

My account was hacked and it seems impossible to wipe it and create a new one. Match allowed my account to be hacked but as a matter of goodwill credited me a whole 7 days! A scammer sent multiple messages from my account to potentially vulnerable persons. Match should not have allowed that.

I think they have stolen my profile and are using it as a bot now. I was trying to delete and remove all data on my account but found it extremely difficult on a mobile. I clicked a link saying suspend my account, there was an option I could restore the account so I thought it was safe and could always go back if didn't work. After the website completely blocked me from accessing my account and now I have no way of deleting my profile as I had intended.

Borderline fraud when it comes to payment and service. If you cancel after a month they still try and take 6 months payment despite not being able to log in as account was closed. When approach customer services their attitude is tough s##t. Avoid this service like the plague, used to be a good service, is now just another rip off

Website is buggy when logging in. Had to reset password multiple times just to log in. It is absolutely impossible to delete your account on either the app or the website. Map locations are way out of whack. Definitely not recommended. Its so bad I didn't even get to look at any other actual profiles. Glad I didn't give them any money. Use anything else other than this waste of time
