Purchase Maui Jim prescription sunglasses 2 1/2 years ago. Within a year the coating on one lens started to break down and afterwards the other lens did the same. They claim it is normal wear and tear and have refused to find a solution to the issue. Very disappointed with their customer service and would warn others that the price does not reflect the quality so I would avoid this brand

Dont buy anything from Maui Jim

I bought a pair of sunglasses for $600, thinking that this was a high quality brand. After 2 years one of the lenses crached (dropped them, so my fault) and I wanted to have the lenses replaced. Maui informed me, that the model was discontinued and lenses were no longer available .. after 2 years!!! My glasses are worthless and I’ve wasted $600. For that price I was calculating on keeping them for at least 5 years .. so .. don’t buy Mauis or take a huge risk

I have had numerous Maui Jim sunglass, had them repaired. Every time they are so kind and professional. Willing to do whatever it takes to make me happy . I will always wear Maui jim

Beware of this company, I purchased HEiHEI 636 15 3/31/2024. I wore them a couple times and noticed something not quite right, because of weather and hardly any sun never wore them any length of time until 5/8/2024. Found out lenses are defective. MJ wants another 75.00 to replace the defective lenses they sent me. I'm switching to revo they have way better lense quality.

It's great they offer "free" repair but this is the fourth time they have broken. Way to fragile. For the cost, you'd think they woyld be more durable. Definitely not a "you get what you pay for" in this case. My $20 Ironmans last much, much longer. Never, ever buy Maui Jims!!!

Design and glasses efficiency at the top. But for this high price point, they are way too fragile. Twice broken in the front pocket of a hoodie with barely any pressure on them, one glass brocket on a mild shock.
The viewing experience was good but I wil now turn to brands as much as good for a fraction of the price, and a better meterials choice policy.

Recently made a new Company website order. came fast, look great, crystal clear vision, and nice to see made in Japan, not china.
Customer service is top shelf as well. Responded within the hour by email. Sent an older pair in for a broken temple (dropped and stepped on), and they sent them back with both temples redone, and shined up like new. Only cost shipping fees. Very impressed to see a company show up big in a time where most do as little as possible.

Ordered my first pair, it was a total disaster. Paid $800 in advance and received lenses that could see most of the solar system. Sent them back and they would do nothing about repairing the mistake with the prescription that they made, they would not even try and it was a very mild prescription. I received a refund from a local supplier that was also upset about their response. I would advise never to entertain purchasing any of their products. Bad, bad business!

I couldn't find the glasses I wanted on the Maui Jim UK website but after a quick email enquiry I placed an order with a local supplier. Having now received my new glasses I am very pleased with them. They look great on but sadly the spring weather in the UK has not, as yet, provided me the opportunity to wear them in anger. I have one major issue though & that is with the shockingly flimsy tri fold case. Given these glasses are in excess of £200. It seems Maui Jim have provided the cheapest case they can get away with. It's so flimsy I do not feel confident it will protect the glasses from being crushed or bent out of shape in a packed holdall.
Must do better Maui Jim.

Sent my sun glasses in for a repair and they refubished them like new! 😎 Beyond greatfull

Buyer beware. Last year (2023) my optometric office in CA had a Maui Jim Trunk show. A copy of the invite included the following: Maui Jim will bring their entire ophthalmic and sunglass collection. Free gift and _____________ Café goodies with each purchase. I attended because Maui Jim had started selling ophthalmic frames. They had an Acetate Collection and with the help of the Maui Jim Representative, I chose a frame, purchased it, and had Maui Jim lenses installed. Fast forward 7 months later and Maui Jim discontinued the ophthalmic frames. They provided a 2-year scratch resistant warranty. 7 months later the Doctor noticed a scratch on a lens. I asked the optician if Maui Jim could look at them and my optician researched this with Maui Jim. The answer was no, as they no longer had a lab for clear lenses. I asked if as an alternative they would install new lenses into the same frames with my new Rx, and I would pay the cost. Maui Jim said no. Since I like the fit of the frame, I then decided to have generic lenses installed in the Maui Jim frame. The sunglasses are great, having purchased over a dozen different frames over the past years. This review is for my experience with the ophthalmic frame. Maui Jim should have told customers that they were going to sell the ophthalmic frames on a trial basis with a limited warranty. This whole experience seems like a marketing trick to temporarily boost sales. Buyer beware.

Ordered a pair of sunglasses. No receipt of purchase sent, no confirmation but, of course, Maui Jim was extremely efficient in immediately taking payment and then forgetting about it. I had to contact them and get it resolved. They started with the usual trick of ‘sorry you feel this way’ deflection of blaming customers’ feelings and not Maui Jim accepting they are incompetent. The glasses arrived, damaged. And yes, this is the stupid part, I ordered another pair for my partner who fell in love with a certain pair of glasses. Guess what? Same again. Except this time, not only does Maui Jim treat customers with contempt by not acknowledging a purchase, this time, after many emails, I was told the order cannot be cancelled as the courier has already collected it. That was over a week ago. So yes, I guess they have promoted themselves from incompetence to outright theft. Do not buy even a hairpin from these crooks.

I have a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses, purchased in 2004, I recently broke one of the arms. The company replaced both arms free of charge and also gave me a new case as my olds one was battered. What great customer service, I will soon be purchasing a new pair of prescription sunglasses and I will stick with the brand.

Recently purchased my first pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. I even went $100 over my budget because they really felt and looked that good. Unfortunately not even a month later they were damaged. I called Maui Jim’s repair center and was immediately sent a repair form. They even waived the $15 processing fee. I paid for the shipping USPS Priority both ways and within two weeks I received my glasses again as new. This was some of the best, and quickest customer service I’ve experienced. No doubt I will continue to purchase their products.

Broken MJ sunglasses (I sat on them) were repaired and returned to me by their UK office within one week. Love these sunglasses so was happy to have them back. Brilliant service.

I have a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses that I had an issue with but they were out of warranty. The customer support was still excellent. I got to speak with a human being that was actually dealing with my sunglasses to discuss the issue and to find a solution. No chat bots or endless emails that are not answered. They sorted the problem within a week in a fair and professional manner. I wish many other companies could be the same with their a customer service and response time. Maui Jim sunglasses are not cheap but they are amongst the best sunglasses in the world and your eyes are worth looking after. As they say “you get what you pay for!” This couldn’t be more true especially when a company cares about the customer after you have parted with your cash!

So rare to find a company that takes repairs seriously and makes the process simple and efficient

I stopped by Maui Jim in Mississauga, ON today for a quick sunglass repair. Joanna & Mariangela are absolutely delightful to interact with; they both truly embody the spirit of Aloha. Such a treat dealing with these ladies! Outstanding customer service and true Maui Jim brand ambassadors! Keep up the great work! Mahalo!

Your team is always so friendly and helpful. Every interaction reaffirms my belief that Maui Jim is truly the best of the best. I was pleasantly surprised by a call from a representative from Maui Jim today. There was a sincere acknowledgement of the problem and a desire to get things worked out (which they did). I will say out of all of my years this has truly been the best customer service / care for customer / backing of a product that I have experienced and certainly earned back my business going forward. Hats off to you Maui Jim and specifically Mary (from Ontario) for reaching out and working though this!

I purchased a pair of rx glasses from Maui Jim 3 years ago (Haleakala). Since then the arm hinge has broken twice, additionally, the design of the glasses is such that the inside of the lens is scratched by the arm… after contacting Maui Jim multiple times, they closed the case and did nothing to address the poor quality and design issues.

Don’t be fooled by positive reviews and stay away from there products. There are many other glasses manufacturers with life time warranties and customer service which stand behind their products.
