I purchased two items from Max Max LLC…

I purchased two items from Max Max LLC after their website stated that orders would be shipped the next business day once payment cleared. My payment was completed and confirmed, yet I waited more than 9 days without receiving any shipping update or tracking information.

During this time, I made multiple attempts to contact the company by phone and email. Unfortunately, no one answered, and I received no responses or notifications of any kind. The lack of communication and failure to honor their own shipping policy is extremely concerning and unprofessional.

Due to this experience, I was forced to open a chargeback dispute with my payment provider. I will also be reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) so others are aware of these issues.

I would strongly advise potential customers to be cautious before doing business with this company.

Avoid At All Costs

I sent a camera for monochrome conversion in April, then heard nothing. He stopped answering email, and the phone just went to a voicemail box that was full. In November I started the process of taking him to court to get my camera back, and he suddenly became responsive and shipped it back to me. But it had been disassembled and the sensor is broken. There was even a post-it stuck to the camera, "needs new sensor assy voice coil broken." If you search the web and other review and forum sites, you can find many experiences similar to mine. This has been a very long, stressful, costly mistake. I wish I had seen the reviews before I sent a camera to him.

Fuji X100 S monochrome conversion

I sent my Fuji X100 S for monochrome conversion in September '21 and got it back in November, only to see finger prints on the rear screen, on the other sde of the glass where it could not be cleaned and some HUGE particles on the sensor. After a trip, I sent it back to Dan for cleaning. I got it back a few weeks back only to find that the shutter that closes the optical viewfinder does not close fully. I have emailed him multiple times and have not received a reply. Prior to this I had to email him on numerous occasions to get the camera back after the initial conversion. I had to beg him to send it back as I was getting ready to go on a trip. I would never risk sending a camera to him. I have a piece of junk on my hands.

Spent a lot of time bashing the other…But the others had to fix Maxmax conversion

Spent a lot of time bashing the other camera converts, two of which I have used in the past to convert to IR or FS with out issues.

Decided to give them a try, which was a mistake.

Kept camera for over a month, considerably less than the 1-2 weeks I was told.

Camera (mirrorless) would not AF below 30mm after Maxmax converted to FS. Tried to blame the lens, all of which worked before and on an identical converted camera.

Had to send to the other guys to correct the work of Maxmax. Save yourself the hassle Kolari and Lifepixel are better options.

Lesson learned!

Unprofessional services

After ordering a camera there were hardly any communication with the company about delivery dates. When i asked, they're answered with: Sure we'll make it.

Two days before i needed the camera, for an event, it finally arrived. Only when i opened the box i discovered the wrong delivery. They mistakenly switched the DHL labels - mistakes happens, but when i called them to give them a chance to get the right camera to me on time, they promised to call me back within an hour. They never called me back, instead i got a mail the day after saying they couldn't make it on promised delivery date. 'You don't say'

Also they told me to ship the wrong cameras back to them, yet forgot to apologize or give any kind of compensation, not that it would have mattered, because the entire event was ruined because of them.

At least i got to pay customs twice, one time for the wrong cameras and one time for the right one.
