Brilliant Service
I was looking for a soundbar to compliment my 6-month-old TV. I happened to see one on eBay, however it was for repair or spares. I am not that skilled in electrical repairs. So commenced looking for a new or used example. I discovered as part of the process that the model I was seeking had been discontinued, so thought that my opportunity to secure an unused model was going to be a difficult.
However, an hour looking through a number of sites I found a new model at a very competitive price.
I placed my order, 90 minutes later I had a call and email from Customer Services at McMichael’s. They informed me that the soundbar, was a display model and not a new boxed item. They highlighted there was a small scratch on the subwoofer, which they thought happened during cleaning, they offered to see if they could polish it out before sending. In addition, McMichael’s would offer me and additional warranty and they offered delivery in 48 hours at no additional cost. That clinched the deal for me.
The following day, Thursday, I had a confirmation despatch email from McMichael’s, later the same day the courier company verified they had the parcel and would deliver the next day, some 270 miles away and that they would confirm an hour window for delivery when it was out for delivery.
I did not receive confirmation from the couriers by 11am the next day, checked on the courier’s website to discover the parcel was delayed (This was at the peak incidence of the Omicron variant), I emailed McMichael’s Customer Services to state the parcel had been delayed and as it was Friday, I was not hopeful of a weekend delivery.
The Saturday morning, I received a text from the couriers stating they would deliver that morning. In the afternoon received a call from Customer Services to check that I had received the Soundbar and all was satisfactory. Such great service.
On unwrapping the protective film, I found a pristine box and on opening found it all complete, looking like new. I registered the product with the Manufacturer and the same day had confirmation of the additional warranty.
Overall, it was a very positive personalised experience, despite the delay from the couriers, which was not in the control of McMichael’s. It is clear that they care about their customers.
Despite the distance, McMichael’s will now be my first port of call for TV, Audio & Home Appliances.
