Quick enough to send letters but when you try and call you are stuck in a queue for hours so you can never actually get through, no doubt they will charge more if you don't contact them.

Cancelled O2 and paid. Due to a mix up on their end, I ended up with MDRL. Sent in proof of payment, no response.
They seem to have sold the debt to someone else without mentioning my dispute AND are still sending me letters!!
Seems internal processes need to be looked into.
UPDATE: they tried to call twice even though I always requested emails.
Sent through final letter from O2 showing an amount, and statement showing that amount. BUT I apparently still owed like £12. I dont! but I paid it to get them off my back. And reset my credit record as im about to make an application that may be declined due to this.
Not sure how everyone else talks about caring customer service ect - I didnt experience that at all. This account was also sold to Lowell and I have paid £12 there to get them off my back as well.

I would not recommend dealing with this company. I received a letter from them claiming they wanted to discuss a private matter, but it provided no details. When I called, they immediately started asking for personal information without explaining why they needed it or what the issue was about.
If there were a genuine reason for contacting me, they could have included at least some explanation in the letter. Instead, they expect you to provide your information while refusing to tell you why they are requesting it. This lack of transparency is concerning and left me feeling uncomfortable. SCAMMERS

On XX/5/26 I received an solicited telephone call on my ex-directory landline telephone, the number was unknown to me & I traced it to MOORLAND DEBT RECOVERY with whom I have never had any contact with either telephone call, letter or email. On XX/6/26 I dialled the relevant telephone number & heard a recorded message.
Not satisfied with this outcome as I wanted to talk to human being. I managed to find their complaint telephone number, which is different from the number left on my telephone.
I asked the agent who answered why I had been contacted & gave my landline number & she told me she could not trace my telephone number on their system so if that is the case why & how was I contacted ? This was greeted by silence & so I asked to escalate my complaint & I was passed over to a complaint manager, who asked for my name, address & email which I declined to give but I did give the relevant telephone number again in question & explained it all again. She replied that my number could not traced, again I asked then why & how was I contacted. No Answer. The manager then told me that she would put my "untraceable" telephone on an exclusion list
If you ever have the misfortune to be contacted by this company by telephone & they ask for your name, address & email DO NOT SUPPLY THIS INFORMATION as if the have not got it then they do not need it, because you never know what this company will do with your details.
If the issue persists report this matter to ICO website with all the relevant details

Illegal 3‑day deadline, no breakdown – here's what to do if it happens to you
Moorcroft sent me a letter demanding £110.90 with only **3 days to reply** (letter dated 14 May, deadline 21 May). That's a direct breach of FCA CONC rules – consumers must be given a **minimum of 30 days** to respond before any enforcement or credit reporting can take place.
They also refused to provide any breakdown of the debt. No bill. No dates. No services. Just a balance.
When I challenged the debt (which relates to a contract I had already lawfully terminated – I have proof), Moorcroft did not investigate. They simply closed the account on their system and returned it to their client. That's also a breach of CONC rules (failure to suspend collection activity while a dispute is investigated).
**What I did (and what you should do if this happens to you):**
1. **Do not pay** – paying a disputed debt can be seen as admitting liability.
2. **Dispute it in writing** – email them and keep a copy.
3. **Check the deadline** – if it's less than 30 days, that's unlawful.
4. **Request a full breakdown** – under FCA rules they must provide it.
5. **If they don't respond or refuse, report them** – to the FCA, the Financial Ombudsman Service, and the ICO (if your data is being processed unlawfully).
I have also sent Moorcroft a **Subject Access Request (SAR)** under UK GDPR to obtain all data they hold on me – including who instructed them and why the debt was raised. If they process your data without a lawful basis, you have the right to do the same.
**Bottom line:** Moorcroft's 3‑day demand was illegal. They have not provided a breakdown. They have not investigated my dispute. I am now taking this to the regulators.
If you're in a similar situation, know your rights – and don't be bullied by illegal deadlines.

Very recently I was the victim of a fraud and had no idea until I was contacted by letter by Moorcroft. I was met with kindness and understanding and they undertook communication with Tesco Mobile. Now resolved I have to thank among others Lee and Alex for their help. Without this company I would have been lost. Tesco Mobile have from first to last never made contact with me. Disgraceful. Many thanks and a well deserved five stars to Moorcroft.

Really good advice and assistance and a financial tool, all on-line where you can analyse affordability. Advisors were clear and offered any additional help should it be needed. I had no problems setting up an affordable payment with Moorcroft.

I’ve been dealing with Moorcroft for nearly seven years, and my experience has been very positive throughout.
From the beginning, they have been professional, understanding, and respectful in all communications. They took the time to listen to my situation and were always willing to work with me to find manageable solutions. I never felt pressured unfairly, and their approach helped reduce a lot of stress during a difficult time.
What stood out most was their consistency and clear communication. Whenever I had questions or needed support, their team responded promptly and explained things in a straightforward way.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with how Moorcroft handled my case. They’ve been supportive and fair, and I truly appreciate the way they’ve worked with me over the years.
