Media City in Salford is fantastic

Media City in Salford is a fantastic place to go. From great restaurants and cafes to lovely walks and things to do and see. Of course it is close to the Lowry Theatre, the Lowry Shopping Centre and the Imperial War Museum North, but of course the biggest draw is the studio complex for the BBC and ITV.
As a MASSIVE fan of TV & Radio, I was excited to go on the BBC Studio Tour at Media City
What a terrific morning.
The tour group I was in consisted of about 22 people, which was a manageable amount for the tour guides we had, and we were met by some very nice staff members and taken through the various studios and buildings used by BBC TV and Radio shows.
The tour guides were extremely knowledgeable, informative and entertaining, which made the tour even more enjoyable.
There was genuine surprise from a number of our group as to how small the studios were, but I do know that at the end of the tour not one of the group was disappointed at all.
The value for money is exceptional. For roughly £12, you get a detailed and intensive tour round the BBC buildings and given detailed information of the workings and 'tricks of the trade' that goes into making the extremely popular programmes that the BBC deliver.
If you are a budding presenter, you also get the opportunity to sit on a presenters couch and read some news items, or if you'd prefer, you can instead have a go at delivering the weather forecast.
If I had any 'negatives' about the tour, at times it was a bit difficult to hear the tour guides, but that was down to things going on in the background to be fair, so it's more of a 'niggle' than a complaint.
All in all, it was genuinely interesting, entertaining and definitely worth it.
I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
