I am extremely disappointed with the service we received during my son’s ENG1 medical and feel it is important to share our experience.
My son, who is studying Engineering, attended an ENG1 medical in August. Before the appointment, I had made it very clear when booking that the certificate was required for Engineering, not Deck. Despite this, the examining doctor incorrectly ticked the wrong box on the certificate.
We raised this immediately, only to be told that my son must book and pay for an entirely new medical in order to correct the mistake. This is completely unreasonable, as at no point did my son provide the wrong information. The error was entirely down to the medical provider, yet the responsibility, and additional cost, was pushed back onto us.
I requested written evidence of when and where they believe my son supposedly gave the wrong details, but none was provided. Instead, we were met with poor communication and no willingness to acknowledge or correct their own mistake.
For a medical provider operating in such an important and regulated area, this lack of accountability and professionalism is unacceptable. We expected a straightforward resolution to what was clearly their error, but instead received an unhelpful and dismissive response.
Unfortunately, based on our experience, I cannot recommend this medical practice.
