Mis-diagnosis.

Attended Cardiff Medicare summer 2025 as a result of long term nasal drip and excess mucus in throat. Waited 30 minutes past the appointment time to see the consultant lady who spent no more than 5 minutes with us. Paid £150 consultation fee and another £40 for private prescription after being diagnosed with rhinitis.
A few months later, with no improvement I switched to NHS who arranged a scan and found thyroid goiter which needs urgent surgery. This has caused the long term symptoms!
The Medicare diagnosis was completely inaccurate and a waste of money.
We got the impression that the organisation seems to favour Polish customers as the consultants and receptionists seem to be from Poland.
Felt very disappointed and that we didn't belong there.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I’m sharing this in the hope that it helps the clinic improve its service and also helps other patients.

My daughter was diagnosed with PCOS and insulin resistance. We initially visited a private clinic in Latvia, where we were told she needed medication for insulin resistance. Unfortunately, our GP in the UK is unable to prescribe this, so we were placed on a waiting list to see a gynecologist, with a waiting time of up to two years.

Hoping to get help sooner, I contacted this clinic, explained our situation clearly, and booked an appointment. I paid a deposit, expecting we would finally be able to move forward. However, on the day of the appointment, I was told that the doctor could not prescribe the medication and that we needed to see an endocrinologist instead.

At that point, I appreciated the honesty and was encouraged when I was told they would contact an endocrinologist and get back to me shortly. I felt relieved, thinking we were finally making progress.

Unfortunately, that’s where things stalled. What was meant to take “a minute” has now turned into nearly three weeks. I have called around four times to follow up, but each time I was told they couldn’t help because the endocrinologist only works online and hasn’t responded.

I requested a refund last Wednesday, but a week later I am still waiting for it to be processed.

While the staff I spoke to were polite, the overall experience has been frustrating and disappointing. For a private clinic, I expected better communication, clearer guidance, and more efficient handling of the situation.

I truly hope the clinic improves its coordination and responsiveness, especially when dealing with patients who are already in stressful situations. There is definitely potential here, but better organization and follow-through are needed.

Unable to provide diagnosis for insurance claim

I visited your clinic and saw one of your doctors. However, when I submitted the medical claim to my insurance company, they refused to reimburse me due to an unclear or insufficient diagnosis.

I contacted your clinic to request a revised receipt with more specific diagnoses. I shared some examples of diagnosis provided by insurance company, and emphasized that I did not ask the clinic to include any conditions that were not diagnosed. I simply requested more detailed information to support my claim. Unfortunately, the nurses informed me that no new receipts could be issued.

When I was offered the option to book another appointment for a follow-up, I told the nurse that it seemed pointless to see the doctor again as I would not be able to get reimbursed by the insurance company. The nurse’s response was that it is what it is, and there was nothing they could do to assist me further!

I find it surprising that your clinic is unwilling to provide more detailed diagnoses, especially when compared to other medical specialties.

I can’t thank this team enough! Dr Osman was kind, patient, and made me feel completely at ease during my treatment. It’s rare to find someone so caring and skilled. The receptionist greeted me with such warmth and made everything—from booking to billing—so easy. I left feeling genuinely cared for. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a dental team that truly goes above and beyond.

Recommended dental care

I recently had an appointment with Dr. Osman Menla at Medicare Clinic in Reading, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. From the moment I arrived, Dr. Menla and his team made me feel comfortable and well cared for. He is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and takes the time to explain every step of the procedure, ensuring that I felt at ease throughout.

His attention to detail and gentle approach made my dental treatment completely stress-free. He genuinely cares about his patients and provides excellent advice on maintaining oral health. The clinic itself is modern, clean, and well-equipped, further enhancing the overall experience.

I highly recommend Dr. Osman Menla to anyone looking for a skilled and compassionate dentist in Reading. A five-star experience all around! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dr Ewa Iwan-Chuchla (dermatologist) has…

Dr Ewa Iwan-Chuchla (dermatologist) has been amazing and supported me when I couldn’t get help elsewhere. Friendly, kind and knowledgable. I am so grateful for her care and advice. My GP was unable to confirm my diagnosis, Dr Ewa diagnosed me on our first appointment. It normally takes suffers 7.3 years to work through the system to get the correct diagnosis. Dr Ewa also noted a second condition I didn’t realise I had- rosacea! After two weeks of treatment my skin looks so much healthier. I am so glad I found Dr Ewa, thank you and also to the reception staff who have been welcoming and friendly.

The price list should be updated.

I have only used the dentist's services. Overall, I think they have good specialists there, especially Dr. Wrońska, whom I visited once in the past. She was professional, kind, and knowledgeable.
Recently, I wanted to use their oral surgery services because I needed to have only the roots removed (following previous root canal treatment). The price list stated a cost of £260-310, so I called the reception with a detailed description of my situation to request an estimate. A very polite receptionist told me that since it was just the roots, the cost would likely be on the lower end of the range, around £260. So I booked the appointment and paid a deposit.

When I arrived for the appointment, the doctor told me that the procedure would cost £400 because that’s the price in their price list. Imagine my surprise! When I explained that I had been told otherwise by the receptionist and that the price list showed a different amount, the doctor was surprised as well. Unfortunately, I couldn’t go ahead with the procedure due to the significantly higher price and the misleading information I received.

Of course, Medicare has the right to set their prices as they wish, but in that case, they should update their price list! The cost for this procedure is still listed the same way, which misleads customers. I am thankful that the doctor informed me of the updated price before the procedure and not after it. My deposit was refunded. But I wasted my time as well. I do not question the doctor’s competence—she is undoubtedly an excellent surgeon and very kind.

I would also like to add that at another clinic in Reading, on Caversham, I had the same procedure done privately for £195.

waste of space

I contacted the company via email to ask if the could remove a Benign Naevus Lipomatosis superficialis. The asked me to send a picture which i duly did, I havent heard from them despite sending another email
