FUME ART~ incense

The magic and artistry of incense making is quite different from perfumery and I would suggest more dangerous. You don't have the immediacy of a testing strip. You can't add a drop later after an incense has dried, the mistakes are more expensive when a batch goes wrong... The mastery is that decision that must be made predicting how the incense will evolve from batter birth to maturity. Because it never comes out exactly like the wet batter. First the incense must dry and some materials fair better with age soaking up the gloriousness around them. Other incense materials are just better fresh. Then the variable of warming, heating, burning? A charcoal? That choice changes the entire ceremony and disposition. Nothing hippie-dippy about it. I made the transition myself from burning to a heater years ago when I recognized that my lungs couldn't tolerate the smoke. Even more poignant the incense was even better and more subtle when it wasn't burned. See this warmer I bought from the Mermaid great price great product. You can get liners too on Amazon.

Not only is the mermaid a talented blender but you can buy excellent incense materials for making your own. Her AGARWOOD is gorgeous. Her LEATHER incense blend is a remarkable work. On the planet there are just a handful of seriously talented masters of incense, the Mermaid is a living legend. I feel so happy to share her with you.
