Wouldn't exchange a faulty laptop

Wouldn't exchange a faulty laptop which they legally have to do. It was an official refurbished item. Had to get a refund. Under UK consumer rights law they have to repair, replace or give refund. I wanted a replacement but they wouldn't action it. I explained what their legal obligations are . After 7 hours (not an exaggeration) dealing with their support over 2 weeks I finally gave up and got a refund.

Terrible product, even worse service.

Support process is agonizing.

I was double charged for TouchMail. The support contact on their site was damn near impossible to find. It runs you in circles first. I finally got to chat. I laid out the problem in detail the first time I responded. Their canned responses indicated that they didn't read my input. After 30 minutes of chatting, I finally got a refund. Many people, they correctly assume, will not go through such a drawn-out process.

Ordered an Xbox series X on 14 May 23

UPDATE: Can't rate zero stars or I would. Ad of 25 May, I can't find a way to contact a person no matter how many hours I have spent on the phone. The best I could do was click "return" for an order that has yet to ship. I did. They sent me a return label to print and I have 30 days to return an item I have not received. ORIGINAL POST: Ordered an Xbox series X on 15 May 23. They were in stock and said 2-3 days for delivery. Microsoft sent an email saying it would deliver on 17 May. Status online said label created and waiting to ship. The Fedex status said they had been notified and they were awaiting delivery of the package to ship. On 22 May, status is the same. The real frustration is trying to contact customer service. A circular process that results in no way to email or talk to a person. The auto system doesn't recognize when you ask for help with customer service for a delivery. It refers you back to the link at the website and disconnects. The chat option that is supposed to exist could not be found. I searched diligently for a link. No help. No option to cancel, just return the order that has not been shipped. I would venture a guess that if I select "return" the order, they will keep a restocking fee. Why can't I get a person in a customer service role? I should have just gone shopping downtown and paid the extra to get it.

Rubbish after sale warranty & service

Rubbish Service from the after sales warranty team

The battery on my surface book2 broke after a couple of years. ( just outside my warranty). i then purchased a new computer via the warranty program but this came with only a 3 month warranty. in month four the same battery problem arose and microsoft only offer to buy a new computer with no desire to fix it.

so in a nutsell: terrible battery life on Surface book2 and even worse client service

I bought a Xbox Elite Controller Series…

I bought a Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 at the end of January with warranty, it has been used a few times and already broken. I rung Microsoft who said they will try and fix it however it they can't I can have a refurbished replacement. I said I want a new controller not refurbished and they said that is not their policy, so I have paid over £150 for a new controller and they are replacing it with a cheaper used controller with no part refund to me. Disgusting

Microsoft Store robbed me…

I bought an app from Microsoft Store, they took my money but the app wasn’t delivered. I tried looking for it but gave up and tried to contact Microsoft Store. Another hour wasted going round in circles. I eventually got someone to try to help me but he couldn’t sort it either and offered me a refund. I was passed on to the accounts department who made me answer all sorts of ID questions…I just gave up…2 hours wasted and I wasn’t going to waste any more. Microsoft Store robbed me…

Nothing works in the store

Nothing works in the store, constantly doesn't download or install. Forget all the things they tell you to do, it's consistently bad. I don't understand why they force you to install certain things through it when it doesn't even work half the time.

Couldn’t sell me a Microsoft laptop charger!!!

Left my charger for my Microsoft laptop behind on trip to London so took a detour to Microsoft store to get one.

Incredibly the assistant there said they didn’t have one - or couldn’t sell me anything to charge my laptop. Have I entered a parallel universe or have they lost the plot (or was he a plant from the Apple Store next door). Anyway - very poor service from Microsoft in their flagship store. Joke (and a waste of time!)

Total lack of support

Total lack of support. I downloaded a data recovery app that claimed to have a free version, but after 42 hours of scanning the disc, it then tells me it is actually "crippleware" and will only recover a fraction of the data for free and if I wanted to recover my data, I would have to buy the full version, thinking that I would be more likely to pay up than waste the 42 hours. So I want to report the app and the developer to Microsoft. Well, there is absolutely no support process in the store, and web searching does not offer any alternatives. This is the last time I use it, but I am guessing I can't uninstall the wretched thing...

Misleading extended warranty. Exists only to lure the customer.

Sells laptop with cheap extended warranty but doesn't honor the warranty. Tells the customer the warranty is not valid.

I am now sitting with an HP laptop that fails often (thankfully only driver issues till now) and after 1 yr I realized I don't really have an extended warranty even though it was purchased along with the laptop.

MS charges only for the laptop even if you pay for both at the time of purchase and sits quietly without telling the customer about it.

Awful customer support, never again

Impossible to get in touch with them other than by calling their hotline, no matter how much I explain that I need to use a more practical channel as I cannot spend hours on end over the phone during business hours.

Their agents on Twitter are only good to instruct you (repeatedly) to call them, livechat agents do the same.

Meanwhile, I purchased a keyboard from them that was mishandled by the transporter, I opted to have it sent back for refund but even MS does not include a valid return address for their transporter to know where to send it back - it's just an end-to-end farce.

MS does not align with the transporter to make this easier, it's on me to fetch bits of information from MS to relay them to the transporter so the parcel makes it way back, which will likely either never happen or happen once we're out of the 30 day refund window.

Dealing with MS has been nothing short of a total disaster, never again will I buy something direct from them.
