Pathetic customer service

I have been trying to book tickets trying to redeem my miles ( I have more than half a million miles) and I have been trying for the last 6 months initially for April and finally last week I got a booking for Chennai to SFO by Business Class in August with the help of the call centre and today when I called for a return ticket the customer service representative cut the call even while I was explaining to him that the online system was showing internal server error. I don’t know how to get a return ticket as the system always shows internal server error.

Phone booking: Don't. Confused, abused, paid twice, but is there a return ticket?

Booked a return flight ticket with one connection. This was on Dec 16th as soon we knew when my partner's mum would be buried.

It's now less than three days before his (hope!) return flight. We know not if
(a) he still has any ticket from his international destination to the US at all
(b) if his stopover connection (if it still exists) is safe time-wise or covered under one or two bookings or
(c) when or to which final destination city I am to drive to pick him up!

It's a NIGHTMARE at a very vulnerable time. On top of that and all of my time wasted trying to get a smooth solution, one MM operator was so hardly-hidden aggressive and aggravating today by using what felt like threats, that I got very close to tears. This is a hard time, I'm trying to keep this off my partner, I have feelings. They tell me:

*NEVER, ever again shall we rely on MM phone booking.*

Longer story, if you care for gory details you may recognize:

MM website threw lots of errors, sometimes login was not even possible, so we could only book return flight to same city of departure. (Very hot tip: Book there and back flights separately if you can!) We really wanted a triangle flight to another city in close proximity - arrival back is close to midnight and that's a very unsafe city to be at that hour.

We called MM hotline minutes after booking, when cancelling would have been simple, to ask about how to do this. Were told not to cancel. Instead, the MM operator booked a separate return flight and told us to call back "one short call" to have first return "fully refunded, taxes+miles", but only "AFTER" my partner had already flown the first two legs and was at the international destination.

We did exactly as instructed. Chaos erupted. I had to call Miles&More twelve times to date since Jan 14. (It's Jan 21st, return hopefully on Jan 24th.) Every time different info, ever-changing info on the app.

Promises for callback, one which I requested to receive from their supervisor, were broken. Several calls got disconnected or were dropped.
I was in wait lines and on hold for a total of many hours. What a lack of proportion.

Finally, someone friendly and able offered to cancel the flight the US MM person had booked for us for full refund, telling they could reroute the original ticket. The call dropped.

The next CS answer seemed the most alert and enabled, too. It took mere minutes until she understood the long, crazy mess. She promised to clean it up and assure the extra flight would be fully refunded.

The cancellation seemed to go through. However, the MM app now showed one flight only: To the destination we wanted, but it originated at the US stopover, no longer internationally.

I called a final time to clarify, which turned into three calls. One dropped few moments into the call; two was the first time someone was aggressive. That phased me, plus I was unclear about what he said, so I told him I would like to hang up if he could not let me speak to a colleague instead; they began threatening and heightened the confusion. He seemed a native speaker and I speak English well enough, even have an international hobby UL pilot license. He was unable (unwilling, more likely) to clarify, repeating word for word as if I did not hear, getting louder, hiding behind words with meanings I am unclear about (and told him), "ticketing", "reissuing", "the first ticket" when I requested what exactly we were talking about - all the while telling me that I did not understand. Well. I was close to tears when I finally hung up. My partner could not have done this in the present situation.

Operator three reinstated the initial booking we did online, they said. By now there's four (!) other booking codes that popped up in the apps during the process. NO idea if they are active, cancelled, will be refunded money or miles.

By now, I'm expecting the apps will show something very different again by tomorrow, or flight date.

Will my partner even have a ticket back to the US?
Will his connection work?
Where is his destination?
What time is his arrival?

The MM website throws a "technical error" when I attempt to login.

NOTHING is clear. Except, of course, we paid a lot in international taxes, leave alone miles for two tickets, none of which refunded so far. Plus, I have been forced to waste hours. Might have been smarter to go via our credit card company to have just the taxes refunded. I do suppose frustration might be part of MM's policy somehow. With hundreds of thousands of "miles" still left on the account, that may have paid off.

Hope you're thoroughly warned or feeling somewhat better about your personal MM drama after you read all this? Wish us luck. I want my partner back in sanity.

The changes to the LH miles and more…

The changes to the LH miles and more fqtv programme are horrific. Contacts are restricted to phone calls and no other way of communicating is possible. That means that you will have no written record of any complaint. Beyond that, I have not been credited for the full status amount of my loyality to this Airline Group. If you are considering joining this frequent flyer programme, please be forewarned. Customer servicce is zero. I repeat zero.

Do they know how to do their job?

We booked premium eco ZRH-VIE-BKK with LX and AU around 10 month prior to departure date. At the same time we called M&M for an upgrade to business class, paid by miles - first waitlisted. To our surprise it got accepted a few weeks later. I just wanted to know, when the miles will be reduced from our account - so I called and asked around 5 month prior to departure. They told me, that someone has to update our ticket first, then the miles will be reduced in our account, great I thought. One day before departure I called again, because we could not check-in for the longhaul flight. They said that everything is fine, we should just go to the gate?! We flew ZRH-VIE, but still were not checked in for the longhaul. At the gate in Vienna we still were not sure, what was going on. The gate agent then told us that Miles&More f****d it up, they did not do our ticket properly - remember me calling to fix that earlier?! At least we could still fly C, but a lot of trouble all around. Guess what, do you think the miles for the flight VIE-BKK were added to our account yet, even 14 days after landing, no!! We wrote M&M several times, once again added the flight in the app for recrediting, but it appears they don't care. Since November I have the FTL status, do you think my member card has already arrived, no! So far I experienced really bad customer service from M&M! Keeping in mind how much their hotline costs, a wonderful joke! SUGGEST A BIG IMPROVEMENT AS EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING BETTER!

Zero stars if it were possible

Zero stars if it were possible. How can a company like Lufthansa not even get the basics straight, you can't even log in. 8 out of 10 times, this error message pops up "A technical error has occurred. Please try again later." Let's not even begin to speak about the hassle it is to do anything with accumulated miles. It's a disgrace.

I recently had an extremely…

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Miles & More that compelled me to share my feedback. My encounter with their customer service was nothing short of frustrating. I encountered unreasonably long waiting times, and the representatives seemed ill-equipped to handle cases effectively.

One of the most concerning aspects was the apparent lack of problem-solving skills demonstrated by the customer service team. The issues I raised were not adequately addressed, leaving me dissatisfied and unresolved.

Moreover, the security of their website raised serious concerns. I found it to be unreliable and not up to industry standards. This is particularly troubling given the sensitive nature of the information shared on such platforms.

I urge Miles & More to seriously reconsider and enhance their customer service protocols and website security measures. As a loyal customer, I expect better, and these issues have seriously eroded my trust in the brand.

Have given up on Lufthansa and Miles and More...back to United

Have submitted three requests for mileage credit for first class transatlantic. Still only response if "miles already credited". Definitely the worst IT system in the airlines. We had switched from United to Lufthansa to make use of the first class service, but after so many issues with Miles and More we have just returned to Business Class on United to avoid the issues of Lufthansa IT. I see on many forums that United IT is considered far superior, and as a million mile United flyer I had never appreciated that United might be good at something. But I do now.

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. I opened several claims and they never got back to me. Their agents are spreading false information saying that the welcome promotion does not exist for the year 2023-2024 while I can clearly see it on their website.

Do not join the loyalty program

Do not join the loyalty program. To get senator/gold flying eco in europe you will need 100 flights ! 100 !!!
On flying blue on the same context you need 36. A third !
You may be loyal to LH but they do not give you the value you deserve.

The worse of all

Why cant i give no star here :-) I must select one but they deserve none.
The worse of all , what can you do , nothing :( not sure what is this good for and why airlines even working with this unprofessional non existing company.

I have been flying and using my ID for many years including business travel. Then for many flights even after using their own airline such as Swiss , i never see any miles added to my account regardless if i add it during the check-in. The worse part is recently my previous membership ID disappeared from my profile and i was now given the option to create a new. I just pressed the button and it created me a totally new ID. I thought i can contact someone asking how to get my miles back. Not to mention even after the new ID my miles for the last 6 to 7 flights are missing and i tried to reach out to support but there is none :(

Beware!!

The worst customer non service!!
Have not had miles credited for months! Was told that I opened 3 separate accounts that had to be merged. This is impossible as I regrettably joined once. Have filled out website forms 4 times.
Representatives are rude, unprofessional, and non caring. They hang up or pretend they can’t hear you on their end…. in Particular P J and Mandy. Heather , the supervisor, is useless and always unavailable.
Have called 9 times over two months. The given excuse is always a glitch in the system and it would take weeks to rectify problem. Will never fly Lufthansa in the future.
Do not join under any circumstances! Not worth the aggravation!

Absolutely horrible customer service

Absolutely horrible customer service. My flight that is deciding on the status has not been accredited for 20 days after numerous forms filled, and after spending on the support line for 30min I found out that there is nothing I can do apart from waiting, and nobody knows how long - maybe another 3 months. 0 customer service, nobody cares they don't follow their own program rules, 0 help.

Don't buy upgrade, you will loose!

I originally bought economy tickets for a long distance flight. As they were places available in business, I bought an upgrade with my money (not my miles). I was disappointed seeing that miles&more only gave me the miles equivalent to the economy ticket, not to the business upgrade I had bought. I will never fly with them anymore. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with them which costed me 30€. This is how they make money.

Awful customer service

Cannot combine my M&M account with my SWISS Travel ID. One year of trying, I call every 2-3 weeks, keep getting promises of a call back, nothing happens. All I get is a 'Technical Fault' warning. Other people here seem to have the same issue. Why doesn't it get fixed? Other airlines reward their frequent flyers. SWISS/Lufthansa clearly does not. I have written to SWISS by post - no answer. Miles & More don't answer. So, off to another airline I go when I need to fly long haul.
