Recently rented a property from the Truro Office for 18 months, never had a property inspection or visit, huge amount of maintenance issues but the out of hours contact system is dysfunctional and not fit for purpose. Telephones rarely answered and gets diverted to other branches often told they are on the phone when actually the person you may need to speak to is not working on the day.
Property owner makes false allegations of damages and staff dealing with the matter were unhelpful, rude and abrupt - clearly having the Landlords side who is their customer. Worse agent I have ever used.

A special kind of incompetent

We used millers in St Austell when my late mothers house had to be let out due to her ill health and to cover some of the costs of her care .
She has sadly since passed away .
We had always assumed they were complete inept imbeciles ,simple things like emails , replying to phone calls , getting things done were simply beyond them .
So you can imagine our anger and disbelief when I called them today to ask about the current tennant, only to find they have not had contact or received any payment since September.
We hadn't received any correspondence notifying us of this .
We don't know if our property is empty, or if the tenant is still there, or even if we still have a property.
To top it off we paid for the"extra level of management"
Right now I don't know wether to laugh or cry at the sheer incompetence of it all .
My advice would be, do not trust them to let or sell a Wendy house let alone your property, your inheritance and life's savings as they just don't care .
This will not be the last time you hear from me Millers .

UNPROFESSIONAL AND MISLEADING

My dad is 81 and has cancer and sold his house through Miller. The information regarding how the invoice was calculated was misleading as he believed it was a % of the price sold and not a fixed price as it is usually the case. Nothing was mentioned at the meeting to suggest a fixed price. Also found out that one of the employees had an interest in the solicitor suggested.
The main concern was the cavalier attitude they demonstrated to somebody who was vulnerable and living alone, hundreds of miles from family. On one occasion the house was left unlocked and the garage wide open after a visit and on a more serious note the agent allowed a purchaser to take photos of valuable items in the property and only on alerting them did they visit them to remove them from the purchaser's laptop. We have a made a complaint on these and other issues but have been underwhelmed by their response. They are investigated themselves and therefore, it is not independent.

Living up to the *** in Miller***rywide!

Previously rented through MCW and thank God we no longer have to deal with them.

I know renters don't really get a say in which letting company to go with but if at all possible, I'd steer well clear. The list of sleazy practices and unwillingness to deal with basic repairs is honestly too long to list. Let's just say that the term property "management" is a bit of a stretch...

If you're considering letting out your property through them, just be aware that they were happy to leave us to sort out a kerosene flooded property for several months until we were finally able to end our contract (and breathe in some none-polluted air, without the windows open 24/7).

To be fair to them, they did send out a wooden flooring expert after months of calls and emails... who was able to confirm that the floors were constructed of concrete.

If this is the kind of competence you're looking for when it comes to managing your investment, good luck to you :D

Ketan at Falmouth

Ketan was amazing for me throughout my experience. Always helpful and a genuine person. Felt like he was always invested in me getting my house. As I’m a first time buyer I had very little knowledge on how this works but Ketan was knowledgeable and supportive.

Scum

Scum! In a nutshell, they'll say what they need to until they have your money and then you don't exist.
Estates agents remind me of politicians, lying, sleezy and generally not nice people. They all take money for doing nothing and the world would be a better place if they all just disappeared, a bit like they do after taking your money.

PLEASE DO NOT USE MILLERS

PLEASE DO NOT USE MILLERS. We are just completing a house sale with Millers. I’ll be glad when we no longer have to deal with them. The house we are buying was sold by Millers and this will thankfully be the only time we have to deal with them ever! The initial contact to view the house went well and service was fine. The problems started when we needed any information from them. Calls and emails weren’t answered and we ended up having to sit in their Epping office waiting for nearly half an hour before anyone spoke to us. They have different people who deal with various aspects of the sale. Nobody seems to know what’s going on and they get easily flustered. At one point the sales team advised us to get a buyers survey (that we strictly didn’t need to get) and then the vendors wouldn’t agree to the findings of the survey. This caused issues and at a no point did Millers seem to let the vendors know it was them who suggested the survey in the first place. I could go on but I don’t want to think about Millers anymore. The only reason I’m doing this review is that even at the end of the sale they managed to be rude and unhelpful. We called to arrange collection of the keys and were told that they were “running around like headless chickens” and were too busy to give us the keys. It’s a good job that moving two houses is so relaxing that we had time to trek up to Epping to get the keys.

Emma the Excellent at Countrywide

My partner and I have spent the last year searching for our first house, over which time we have done countless viewings with various estate agents.
Emma McLuckie at MillerCW was an absolute stand out. She not only managed to squeeze us into viewings for all the property we wanted to see, she also recommended some others. She was fun, honest, knowledgeable and friendly; Emma helped us find our dream home and negotiated on our behalf to get our offer accepted! We are using Gary Spratt and their in-house mortgage service at MillerCW, which has so far been excellent. Emma is in the process of guiding us through the buying process, she is easy to get on the phone and is going above and beyond in every regard. 5* Service.

Miller Countrywide Plymouth sold our cottage against working with another agent in record time (2weeks). They are extremely pro-active and keep you informed of any feedback within a timely manner. We have dealt with Liz Smith and Emma Ford and they are truly amazing agents and are a credit to Miller Countrywide. The transition Is smooth and they don’t try to sell their products. We could not recommend Miller Countrywide enough. Don’t waste your time with other agents when you can go direct to the best. Miller Countrywide lead they do t follow.

Lauren was amazing

We dealt with Lauren when selling our house & she was just amazing. Knowledgeable, dedicated to delivering first class customer service, kept every promise she made, helpful, just a lovely person who made a very stressful time a touch bearable. I would highly recommend Miller's based on Lauren's service.

If I could have given a zero stars I would have as that how much they care about service. No show for an appointment, no phone call nothing. Can't speak to a person as the phone is never answered in the Plymouth branch.

No customer service.

Placed my property for sale with MillerCountrywide Penzance back in April 2023 with an ‘Offers Over’ notice on the price, and a guarantee from the staff that any potentials will have been checked to ensure they had funds. First visitors said they did not have the budget, so do not know why they visited. Second made an offer below price, which I turned down as was told the price was based on offers over. Since then there has been 1 visit, over a week ago, I am still waiting after calling the agents 3 times for an update on how the visit went.
I am not so concerned that the property has not sold, however the customer service and feedback from this branch is appalling.
I believe they feel that they can just sit back and sell as they did during Covid, however time has moved on and a more proactive approach is now required.
Property is removed from this branch and company. Still waiting to hear from them, but will not be holding my breath.

Little edit. I had to phone them again as they could not be bothered to contact me. Worst customer service ever.

Incredibly rude

Incredibly rude. Off the graph. What the renting side of the business needs to remember is that RENTERS AND BUYERS MAY WELL BE THE SAME PEOPLE, especially in today's property market. Don't waste your time, Chase Buchanan are across the road and much better, as are DC Lane on Mutley Plain.

Conditional Selling

Would not allow us to view a property without providing proof of funds to purchase - just to view, not when making an offer. Funny how this only came up when they were plugging their mortgage services and were desperate to book an appointment. Company interests above those of the seller and buyer. If you are thinking of selling with this company, just think of all the buyers they won’t allow to view your home. Can’t be in your best interest can it?

Would not recommend to anyone.

Terrible experience trying to cancel my joint tenancy having split with my now ex partner.

No communication. Failed to handle things in a professional or timely manner and have caused endless ongoing issues. 9 months on and I am still paying for a property I am not living in. Seeking legal advice as a result.

I would recommend everyone to avoid this letting agency.
