Charged without notice on the basic plan and had to go through my bank to dispute because there is no support model for basic plans… then why was I charged? Non-sense scammers with a mediocre product.

They billed me automatically at an increased rate. Do not purchase the paid version, it is SO expensive for just one year. Scammers!

I paid for the personal subscription.

The money was taken out of my bank account and i am still on basic. There is no email for support so I feel I have been scammed. I am highly disappointed and very angry as I needed to do my assignment. This is highly unethical

Although emailed them several times asking them to delete my account; although I even invoked the right to delete data, they not only did not deactivate the account - they never even replied.

I downgraded in July because of crazy energy bills. I had a confirmation of retrogradation to their free basic plan in July, 27th. They have the audacity to send me on Christmas Day a new bill saying that they will charge me automatically for 2022-2023. It’s a big scam and I cannot delete my credit card information…GDPR is a joke to them I guess. I’ll tell my bank they are a fraud if they really charge my credit card tomorrow.

I was shocked when I found out that I got charged automatically without any prior notification or email.
The app functions well, but how they make money and how they provide support to the customer is ridiculous.
No support email could be found on the website and the invoice. All you can find when you need help is just the Help Center and Submit a Request. In case anyone needs this, I recently found their support email support(@)mindmeister.com on Trustpilot.

A big red flag.

This company has taken advantage of me as a customer using an autorenewing subscription where they did not notify me prior to the issuing of the renewal invoice which happened at exactly the same time as they took the funds by billing to my PayPal account. To be honest, I had no idea that I had actual taken out a subscription as such, I thought I was buying a 1-year pass or licence. I had no idea at all that I had in fact taken out an autorenewing subscription. The company appears to be based in Germany, so what recourse is available to me and under which applicable laws? I would not sign up to their paid-for service unless you want to get locked in an autorenewing subscription cycle.

They can't keep it working regularly. Right now the duplicate function is not working. After a short time on a map the cells stop opening to your touch. When it works its fine, but too many breakdowns. I am spending more and more time on Mindomo.

Worst suscription model!!

They are not in the business of SAAS, they are making money beacuse clients forget the day they will renewal the service, and if that happen they don´t will refund you anything! Thats how they earn.

This is not ethical, ther are like 10 other reviews saying the same, and they don´t care about it, they don´t listen the customer, only want the money.

The worst software i have ever be part of.

NOTION is so far better and the free version is BETTER thant the pay version of mindmeister.

Please don´t buy from mindmeister.

You're absolutely right - and wrong. When trying to export a mindmap as a .pdf, Mindmeister directs customers directly to the pro-tier purchase rather than the cheaper personal one (which is the first trap where i fell in). The pro tier will in fact run you 74,85€ for half a year - which is the minimum binding period. If you jump through a couple of hoops it's possible to opts for the personal tier, which is "only" €44,93 for half a year, again being the minimum binding period. So yes, you are correct that it was too expensive, what I quoted below. But only the total cost. The monthly cost was correct.
So still, it'll run you - the customer - €44,93 for a single .pdf export, which I still find to be absolutely grotesque. What bothers me, is the fact that Mindmeister deliberately hides this, until you "need" a feature from a higher tier. All the time till then, they're advertising the features at 4,99€/month. But you cannot get that - you cannot buy one month access. What you can buy is 6 months for €44,93. That's a dark pattern practice if I've ever seen one.

I find the software somewhat useful and intuitive, but unfortunately the monetization is absolutely ludicrous. I started using the free tier for a personal project, under the impression that I could pay the price of the personal plan for the advertised 4,99€/month, once I would need the features. Once you’ve already soaked hours into a project, it’s revealed that the least you can pay for is for 6 months at a time – and then at 5,99€/month. On top of this comes tax. So, if you’re looking to make one .pdf export of your project, then it’ll run you 74,85€.
I regret the hours spent on mindmeister.com. Especially with so many excellent and fair alternatives.

I asked for a full refund a few days after the 14-days policy was finished, WITHOUT using the products for the entire time and they didn't accepted. I then asked for a partial refund, as I paid for a yearly plan and canceled 3 weeks later, so I won't use it for the year. Got the same answer, no partial refund.

Bad subscription plan, no way to turn on/off auto-renewal. Just got an invoice that I did not approve, have not been using it. Do not give them credit card details.

My work got deleted after I tried to remove a single node. Pressed the backward arrow, didn't work. Had to completely start over. Tried to copy and paste a section of a mindmap onto another, realised I didn't want that section anymore and now it won't let me delete it. Ironic, the one time I actually want something to go away it wont. Useless.

The tool looks useful, but it's definitely not. Bad interface, and you can't access your account details, so there is no way to cancel your subscription. Customer service does not reply to requests to cancel the subscription. AVOID!

MindMeister follows extremely predatory pricing where even if you think the software is worth it or if you want to try it out you don't have the option of paying monthly.

Clicking the 'upgrade' button takes you to a predefined page with no way to customize or downgrade. This is a giant red flag and not indicative of a company that believes in their product.

I used this program for my team a year ago and actually forgot about it. Then with no warning I get an invoice after my credit card is charged for $317!! I contacted them to ask them to refund this and unfortunately used PayPal. They said it's not their policy to issue refunds - it would be unfair to other customers - really? and per their policy when you sign up and in small in their T&Cs. All they were willing to do is trade licenses to someone else or change to a free account in late 2022! So they are so desperate for your subscription that they will not pro-rate it, refund at renewal or downgrade your account within the year. How pathetic that the have to scam customers - stay away - there are other mind mapping products with fairer business models

I like this mindmap tool very much. But it seems not being able to reach maturity over the years. Among the various defects, the fact that you may occasionally lose data is probably the most annoying one. There is no "save" button, so you think it's saving automatically but it might not always be the case. Where offline tools are indicated, I would rely on a online one only if very very reliable.

Very unfair payment process. I hadn't logged in to MIndMeister for a year, received no email notification from them at all and then was sent an invoice out of the blue for £70+. I contacted them to ask them to refund this as it was unexpected, and they said it's not their policy to issue refunds and it's also not their policy to notify customers prior to charges being placed on their cards. They referred me to some tiny writing in their T&Cs. In my opinion, this is in breach of fair trading principles by not notifying customers when a subscription is up for renewal (I work in a subscription business myself and we send out 3 emails prior to renewal because customer service is so important to us). I would strongly suggest not giving this company your credit card details.
