My experience with MJC Motors

My experience with MJC Motors was very good. The staff was professional and helpful, and everything was explained clearly. The car’s condition was exactly as described. The whole process was smooth, with no hidden charges. I would definitely recommend them.

Avoid those cowboys at all cost

Avoid those cowboys at all cost.
Cars they are selling are not only in bed condition but they are profoundly dangerous to drive.
The car I bought started suffering from major defects in the first week since I purchased it. This includes: faulty EGR, traction control, collision control, Faulty DPF, oil pressure. Rear wheels had couple of nuts missing and one of remaining nuts was loose. There was not a single week without any problems. The car mechanic they use : Rasell from K.R. autos needed three attempts and three weeks to clean the EGR valve and another month to replace it.
MJC not only disrespect you as a customer but they disregard any legal requirements. I tried to exercise my consumer rights (consumer rights act 2015) and I tried to return the car twice. On both occasion they not only laughed into my face but also became unpleasantly aggressive.
It is worth mentioning that they failed to register the car with DVLA for 2 months. When I spoken to DVLA I found out that they never received any application from MJC. It's only when I used V11 form the car got registered.
I have spent some time (unfortunately after buying the car) to analyse some positive reviews they have on FB. It looks like most of them are from fake FB accounts with no activity.
Warrantywise they sell is worthless. And it is used by MJC as a gimmick to sell you some junk. At one point, during one of the disputes, they suggested to use WarrantyWise with hope that I would get a full refund from WarrantyWise if its decided that my car is not repairable.
Those people are not unprofessional, those people are dangerous.

Please don’t lie, The Mazda sold to you way back in February with a new MOT and we spent over £3700 replacing the engine. All the invoices for this were given to you.
It’s possible someone tried to steal your wheel, as in our phots of the car , all the nuts were present, and had they been missing , it would have failed the MOT and the pre sales.
The garage that did the Engine, rechecked it after you purchased it and couldn’t find anything wrong.
Yes, you did have a blocked EGR , however that was down to you only doing very short journeys in the car and not allowing it to burn off any carbon deposits.
We arranged for a new EGR to be fitted, at no cost to yourself, and provided you with invoices.
You were very unreasonable and argumentative throughout the process, despite my staff trying very hard to keep you happy.
The warranty wise warranty, is in addition to what we paid out ourselves to get your car sorted out. You are very unreasonable and disrespectful, our staff tried very hard to keep you happy. I can see you have now owned and used the vehicle for over 7 months, if there’s a new issue now, please contact us , and we will try to accommodate you, as best we can, instead of being so dishonest and slagging us off, despite all we did for you.
Please call us if we can be of any assistance.

Avoid avoid avoid!!!!!

I brought a car on finance from mjc motors and within 6 weeks of buying the car I had problems, took it to a garage ( that mjc motors recommended) and within 10 minutes of picking it up and driving off an ( oil pressure fault stop the car) light came on. Took it back to the garage and they couldn't fix the problem ( also said there was 60 odd electrical fault codes coming up on the code reader) mjc motors then said they would take it to another garage, mjc motors then called me to say the car needed a new engine and that mjc motors would pay 900 if I paid 900, I agreed. After weeks of me not having a car and being lead to believe the car was having a new engine fitted I was called to say the car actually didn't need a new engine and just needed a new cambelt and some other smaller things fixed. I was then called to say that the new cambelt etc had been fitted and the car was fixed so I could pick it up. Upon arrival to collect the car Karl said he was unable to access the receipts for the work so wrote them out on a piece of paper( which after saying to him on the phone I really wanted the receipts and him saying they would be there, I thought was dodgy) After paying 350 for the 'new cambelt etc' karl turned my car on... as soon as he did I knew it hadn't been fixed at all, the Rev meter was bouncing all over the place while the car was idil and the engine was spluttering and kept cutting out also had an awful smell of petrol. Karl was adamant that all peugot 208s do that and it's normal and just kept telling me to take the car. At this point I refused to take the car and had a refund for the 350 I had paid, Karl said he would take it to another garage. Karl then called me to say the problem was something else and asked if I would like them to proceed with fixing it I said I would call them back when id thought about it as my finance company had told me not to go ahead with any more repairs. I was then contacted weeks later by my finance company to say that mjc motors had said the car was repaired and ready to collect. ( I had not agreed to this) Again I turned up to collect the car and the car was in the exact same condition ( Rev meter bouncing when idle and engine spluttering cutting out) again I said this was not right or fixed. At this point the guy I was dealing with ( not sure if his name) raised his voice saying they'd spent 900 pound on this car and that it was fine there was nothing wrong with it, he then took the ' reciepts ' he had given me back off me and when I said I need the receipts he said he had paid for it so they were his, he then eventually agreed he would photo copy the receipts for me and when he brought them back i knew they wernt legit as they were crumpled, dirty, screen shots of how much a cambelt costs to replace in a peugot 208 and had numbers written on the back, when i pulled him up on this he got angry, snatched the receipts out of my hand and personally insulted me. Long story short, on the advice of my finance company I got an independent engineer to come and write a report on the car. They found the cambelt had definitely not been replaced ( so mjc motors lied and tried to make me pay for work that had never been done) the finance company then got their own engineer to come and assess the vehicle and again they said the exact same thing so finally I have been able to reject the vehicle and get my finance closed. This company is not to be trusted, they saw a young female who ' didn't have a clue about cars' and thought they could take advantage. After reading the good reviews on trust pilot about this company ' Karl Johnson' comes up as a positive review which is interesting as Karl Johnson' is the person I dealt with for most of my ordeal with mjc motors, it could be a coincidence but after dealing with this unreliable company I would not be shocked if they were writing their own reviews. Please for your own sake stay away!

Ignorant and dishonest

First off, let’s get the facts straight – I didn’t buy a Land Rover Discovery, so it’s a bit baffling why you’re mentioning that. Secondly, a timing chain is far from a ‘minor issue.’ It’s a critical part of the engine that can cause catastrophic damage if it fails. Trying to downplay something that serious doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.

As for the finance comment, trying to shame someone with irrelevant personal information says a lot more about your professionalism than it does about their credit history.

If you'd put half as much effort into customer service as you do into rewriting history, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

I’ll refrain from mentioning the actual vehicle I purchased, though, since you seem to enjoy shaming people and putting out personal information in your responses. Perhaps focus on facts next time rather than fabrications. Do better and be more truthful and honest with your responses.

Look elsewhere for a trustworthy and reliable car dealership.

I regret to say that my experience with MJC Motors has been deeply unsatisfactory and distressing. I was immediately faced with a litany of mechanical issues, including a serious petrol leak and unresolved oil leak, which not only compromised the vehicle's reliability but also posed significant safety risks.

Despite the car's faults becoming apparent immediately after purchase, MJC Motors has continuously failed to rectify these issues effectively, leaving me with a car that is undriveable and dangerous. It is important to note that the dealership has also refused to recognise my short-term right to reject the vehicle within 30 days, as is my entitlement under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

The lack of responsibility, customer care, and due diligence from MJC Motors is alarming. The car was presented to me as thoroughly inspected and fit for sale; however, the reality could not have been further from the truth. The vehicle's condition upon sale was not as described, not fit for purpose, and certainly not of satisfactory quality.

Their response to the situation has been dismissive and evasive, ignoring my consumer rights and leaving me out of pocket for a vehicle that I cannot use. I have attempted to resolve the matter fairly, offering them the opportunity for repair and even suggesting a partial refund as a compromise. Unfortunately, MJC Motors has been uncooperative and unresponsive to reasonable requests.

To anyone considering purchasing from MJC Motors, I would urge caution and suggest thorough due diligence before proceeding. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend their services and would advise potential buyers to look elsewhere for a trustworthy and reliable car dealership.
