been a customer with MJR for over 10 years... they have consistently proven to be reliable and cheaper than other hobby retailers... Mike and his Team at MJR are a thoroughly lovely bunch of hard working and dedicated people who put customer service 1st... orders are handled promptly and with care... dispatched with next day courier for a quick shipping time... one thing i like about Mike is he can get most kits including some very rare and hard to find ones... he is a good guy and i would definitely order again with MJR!

Have used MJR Models and hobbies in Hindley Green for both mail order and in person for many purchases.

I have had exceptional service every time. Staff are friendly and helpful, and comms around purchases has always been very good.

I have found them to be consistently competitive on pricing and very reliable when it comes to standing by their pricing.

They have a great selection in shop and are always extremely helpful.

A truly first class family run business that caters to the hobby with passion and enthusiasm.

I’ve used MJR Models for a while now with most purchases not being an issue.
But lately they’ve been really poor. On one purchase they overcharged on the price of the kit/parts and delivery. They did apologise and I thought it was a one off?
Recently, I spoke with a person in the shop about sourcing a kit and parts. I was told they had a supplier (Hannants) with the order in stock and they would get it straight away. They took the money from my card the next day.
3 weeks later I was phoning them to ask where my order was. They told me ‘they were waiting until they had enough orders from other customers before they approached their supplier’.
A couple of days later they messaged me to say ‘they now had my order and were sending to me’…. 3 more days later, it arrived.
When I checked it I found, the kit had been opened and a significant part of the kit is missing.
I also bought parts from the USA and Korea which arrived before MJR’s stuff.

Don’t trust them. Before you buy anything from them make sure they have it in the shop. If your buying online, use a reputable online store like Hannants (this is who MJR use) or Hiroboy etc. You’ll get the same kits/parts.
Check your bank to make sure they don’t take the money and leave you standing for weeks, before they order your kits/parts.

The best place to get in contact with Mike or his good lady Lesley is through facebook they run a group called Model Kits For Less

They provide most things for model making aswell as slot cars and accessories and war gaming items
Prices are amongst the best i've found online , and whatever they do not stock they can source
Usually cheaper than quoted by suppliers websites if you are a member of the facebook group

And these prices always include shipping (usually by courier)
