Very disappointed with the Knightsbridge Remote Controlled Switch Box (Model OP665GBK) - which I purchased in Oct 2023 and installed the following April. Worked well until this week and now will not connect to the Remote Control. Tried power switching on and off as there is no reset button. Pairing / Match function will not work.
Spoke with my supplier who in turn contacted ML Accessories to be told they will not replace as out of warranty and the model has now been updated and of course much dearer to buy. Have decided to revert back to a normal on/off switch. So much for technology!
Very Very disappointed.

Catastrophe failure of outdoor lights led to RCD tripping and full replacement being needed. Manufacturer/distributor couldn’t even offer to replace them for me at a wholesale price!

A few days ago the RCD in my garage tripped taking out the professionally installed lights in my garden and drive.

Fault finding narrowed the problem down to three Knightsbridge GU10SPIKEL lights that are distributed by ML Accessories.

I sent photos of the lights and a detailed explanation. The reply that came back was basically “out of warranty - not interested in discussing further”. These lights are over £20 each so between the garden and drive I must have £500 of lights from ML Accessories.

Could I buy three replacements from them - no.

All they offered were some o-rings (part of the IP66 rated design) which aren’t much use when the lamps have had significant water ingress.

Customer service has been very poor - for such an expensive product I would have expected better.

I certainly won’t be buying any of their ‘Knightsbridge’ lamps again and wouldn’t recommend them to others

I had a re wire about 5 years ago. So far six single light switches have had to be replaced. Due to the buttons gradually falling out. The last one was this morning.
This never ever happened in my lifetime previous to the re wire. These switches need to be banned. They are dangerous.

Dire customer service. According to their website - 'customer service is not a department, it’s an attitude! We continue to strive towards exceeding all expectations ... '. Having bought 4 BH22PH bulkhead lamps, I proceeded to use a punch as per the instructions, to remove a knockout only for it to break and split the case. I initially contacted M&L via their chat facility and stated that I believed the case to be too brittle. The response I received was to be given a list of suppliers from which to purchase a replacement. I duly bought a new lamp (in the meantime having drilled out the knockouts in the others) to discover the revised instructions with it stated the knockouts should be drilled! The lamp was no different to the others i.e the case was brittle. Having emailed M&L to advise that the original instructions were not fit for purpose and that I therefore felt vindicated in regard to the brittleness of the case, their response did not exceed my expectations as I did not get one! As for the quality and longevity of the lamps, time will tell.

STAY AWAY! Very poor quality products, and very unhelpful (somewhat rude) "so called" customer service.

Products develop fault every few months. And you cannot return them or get proper help.

I am a professional electrician and have 20+ years of specialist knowledge and experience of installing and maintaining outdoor products. I have installed a few of mlaccessories.co.uk range of Knightsbridge "weatherproof" wireless products. I have found them to very unreliable with most failing in less than a year. Whilst mlaccessories will honour their 12month warrantee, these regular failures have cost me money in returning to site, and resulted in bad experiences for my customers. They have also recently changed the frequency of their wireless range, but have not made this clear to buyers or installers on any of their product documentation or sales literature. This means that when you do purchase a replacement part, it is highly likely that it will not be compatible. I strongly recommend you consider alternative, more reliable products such as Wisebox, which , and avoid the bad experiences that my business has had.

Had the ST range of power sockets and light switches fitted to my new build 4 years ago. About 1/3 of the power sockets had intermittent faults in that the switches pressed but didn't turn the power off. I had an ST2000 light switch and after 4 years the switch fell off leaving the exposed electrics underneath. They are also the thickest fittings I have ever seen and really ugly. I understand they are not discontinued but I hope the newer ones aren't such bad quality.

I had the misfortune to fit their Pure range of switches and sockets to my house. If anyone ever doubted the phrase 'Not Fit For Purpose' then look no further than this unreliable range. Of course, this lousy range has been withdrawn and so as each switch or socket fails, I have a growing mismatch throughout the house.

EDIT: July 2023. Yet another double-socket has failed with a flash and a bang. It is fortunate for ML Accessories that if you look up Knightsbridge on Trustpilot then you get a blank. If Knightsbridge was listed, I am sure that there would be hundreds more 1-star reviews.

I should have stuck to a reliable manufacturer like MK. You live and learn.

Utter rubbish. Avoid.

Purchased LED Half Lantern with inbuilt PIR, within 2months PIR failed, contacted ML Accessories as product came with 3 year warranty so i contacted company and on seeing proof of purchase they sent out a complete new Lantern within 3 days of contacting them.
Excellent and prompt service would not hesitate to use them again

In the context of our house renovations we've chosen Knightsbridge Screwless Matt White switches and sockets, for hundreds of pounds worth. After installation we've discovered that the ~1.5mm transparent gasket at the back of them becomes grey-ish and frankly ruins a bit the whole looks of them. None of the photos on their website shows this rather unflattering "feature".
Unhappy with the result, we engaged M L accessories but they have rejected our request for a refund because they had been installed, this despite us having explained that we had no opportunity to know about the gasket becoming grey - highly visible. We would have taken the replacement labour costs but they have declined saying there was no product fault.
On our side, we concluded that this is a product design problem and that they fail informing their clients properly by showing comprehensive photos of their product.
Finally, we felt they did not trust us as they gave us the excuse "this is the first time we're being told this".
Don't expect a good customer service with M L Accessories.

ML are just the coolest guys tio speak to on the phone, and very helpful sorting out issues.

This company gave me excellent service with recent problem. Just like companies used to be. I don’t give a 5 rating often, only when I think it’s truly deserved.
They listened and solved problem immediately with quickest possible despatch.

Avoid this company at all costs. It doesn’t even deserve one star.I bought 11 garden lights which were fitted by an experienced electrician, they lasted less than 6 weeks and the company will not take responsibility or ownership and I’m £240 out of credit. AVOID AVOID AVOID. They have come back with utter nonsense.
AVOID buying their brick light GL BLED5SW in the TLC magazine, I have replaced all lights from a different supplier and no problems whatsoever, same fantastic electrician. SHOCKING COMPANY. I’m taking this further to trading standards

i bought a remote controlled socket off ebay 4 months ago i started to use it 1 month ago but now it will not stay closed its from a seller on ebay which i now no have ceased trading on ebay so i got in touch with the manufacturers and told them the story about the socket and how it wont close the answer i got was i don't now what you are going to do about it now thats what i call help so i am just warning you if you by one of these Knightsbridge REMOTE SOCKET which cost over £40 be careful you by it from from a company that do replacements or you could fine your self out of pocket
