Magic! MDB is what I have been waiting for a long time but didn’t know it. Retired several years and on a fixed income I used to suffer frustration over my inability to get to grips with my finances. On a weekly or monthly basis I could easily check my bank balance but my worry was always the expenses that came around once a year or irregularly. And I did not know if I could afford the holiday or the major purchase so I was in conflict over want, need and affordability! As self employed I had previously used an accounts application but it required manual entry and reconciliation, laborious!

Finding how MDB does the all donkey work encouraged me to analyse my spending back over a year in order to use the budget feature. I now have a tool that gives an instant snapshot of up to date spending and a couple of clicks takes me into details and comparative history.

Quite Simply, Sanity and Security with Confidence

I have used financial software for 30 years. Started off with Microsoft money and now use Bank tree. I started looking at different Apps and found Money Dashboard.
Now been using for around a year and wouldn't be without it. Synching with my bank and two credit cards is a breeze.
I even manually put all my other investment accounts etc on, and so have my total savings in one place.
Once they can get all financial institutions on their system this will be an amazing powerful tool.

Feb 27th 2019:
I've taken a week off work to get household finances together, plan the year ahead and finally use an app to see all our accounts. I've spent painstaking hours logging every transaction within a 'tag', creating budgets, and predictions. It's taken me days and days to get it all together: only to realise that MD is useless. My main current account required me to use my card reader, card, login code every time, so now had to carry that around with me every time I want to look at my transactions on the app. Then, my main account stopping syncing in real time, and was 4 days behind - therefore defeating the whole point of a realtime app meaning I wasn't up to date with budgets anyway. I kept getting locked out of refreshing my account ('try again in 30 mins'). So I tried unloading to reload one the of accounts, only for MD to delete every painstakingly inputted 'tag' and essentially go back to zero, therefore, all that work for a week is now lost. No help on the phone. A total waste of my time when I could have chosen another app instead that is actually going to work properly with my bank accounts. I am so fed up!

This is the way that financing is meant to be done. Money Dashboard continues to be improved and make the data work for you better to understand your spending. For a free service, everyone should be using it.

The best financial app there is. Can consolidate all your and spouses accounts into one, to see all info.

Money Dashboard has completely changed the way I manage money. It helps me identify fraud, budget, avoid overdrafts, and spot where the family can cut costs. If you let them (you don’t have to), they’ll even send you emails with special group discount deals for your big expenses like electricity.

Setup is super easy. Some people have given lower ratings to this app because they don’t understand the concept - I wouldn’t listen to them. Just like the password manager built into iOS, it saves our account details securely and independently. Soon, new legislation will mean you don’t even need to do that - banks have to provide access to account information on request (I can’t wait). I have accounts with some smaller banks and card issuers, and it all works very smoothly. Once, a very small bank stopped updating (it gave an error message in the app), I clicked ‘report to support team’ and within 24 hrs they had contacted me to say it was fixed. Brilliant.

Once the accounts are set-up, they up date daily. You can also press update to get intraday reports. Then the magic starts.

The app allows you to tag items, and it learns how you do it (make sure you select ‘Apply to similar transactions). Push over this little hill, it’s worth it. Once it has learnt your tagging, it’s amazing.

Now I have beautifully presented reports of all my family’s payments and receipts. I can slice it by group, export to excel, spot banking errors, spot when I’ve spent too much on takeaways, or mobile phones or whatever. Now it has learnt my behaviour, everything is automatic. The only things I now need to do manually are things I haven’t done before - twice these were fraudulent payments I probably wouldn’t have noticed for weeks (if at all).

I did worry about privacy for a moment until I read their terms properly. This isn’t Facebook or google. They don’t sell or even keep information about You. That is all completely private. What they do is collate the information to give economists early warnings on where people are spending money. By the way, that’s also what banks do, but they don’t give you this amazing service. Genius.

I love it, and can’t wait for it to gather some momentum so it can get even better.

Great App, easy to use and gives a great insight into my finances. The best thing about this App is the ability to forecast spend for the coming months and track back vs budget using the different spend tags. The auto tagging feature makes updating so easy. I used to spend money on software and a lot more time to manage our household finances so this App is brilliant for me. The updating happens over night so unless don't even need to go through and manual download.

Takes a long time to refresh all your account balances if you have a lot of accounts. One account takes about 90 seconds, and you now have to sit & wait for it to finish before updating the next. I have 10+ banks to refresh. I might as well go back to accessing each bank online individually and avoid the security risk with this. Tagging seems unreliable at best, but I'm not really interested in that anyway. I just want to check up to date balances. Yolt is pretty good for this, but app only, no website.

Really fast response from Support, and so far it's a useful tool to keep track of multiple accounts.

I am finding this app very useful. The support team have been very helpful too when I had an issue with my account. The graphs on the website are very good. At first I didn't realise just how much more is on the website compared to the app.

I am a new user to MD. I started using the app and it seemed really good, lots of details and tagging options. But then I was told it could take up to 7 days for transactions to show, it kind of defeats the entire point of it all really. I want to know what I've been spending within a day or two after I've spent it, not an entire week!

Money DB has been indispensable at helping me plan my monthly budget, check my transactions and keep an eye on my spending. It's also been invaluable for assisting my savings, I now have many more savings accounts and can tag and track my purchases and plan ahead for the month, providing me more opportunity to save quicker - all my accounts, in once place. I still keep the odd spreadsheet for tracking longer term savings and expenses, but MDB is a welcome daily process that helps keep my accounts ticking over in the black.

Recently stumbled across this software on a search for personnel finance software and am quite amazed at what you get for free, little bit apprehensive about releasing my bank detail to a third party, it certainly does everything I want it to do with a nice clean and user friendly interface long may it continue to be free though I wouldnt mind paying a small annual fee to enhance its use.
