Received the Guide to Venice

Received the Guide to Venice. I have decent eye sight, but the font is a good 1.5pt too small to be read comfortably. Also, using black type on a blue background is a no, no. Legibility is very poor.

All a great shame, as the contents look very good.

Customer service

I’m a passionate reader of Monocle. When I had issues with the overseas subscription service, the customer service representatives were able to resolve them with care.

Awesome Customer Service

I ordered Monocle and The Forecast online from Skopje, Macedonia and both were lost in the post.

I hadn’t chosen tracked post however Monocle at no extra cost posted new magazines tracked postage.

They were under no obligation to do so and I offered to pay for the postage and they declined.

Amazing customer and I am very grateful to Monocle for their kind support and service.

A truly unique periodical

A very unique magazine that tells stories you won’t find elsewhere. As a business owner, I love the unique focus on creative entrepreneurs around the world and quality of life.

Athens Greece at 17?

In its 2023 Quality Of Life ranking, Monocle Magazine included no North American cities, yet placed Athens at 17th place. Athens! A noisy, polluted city of 5 million, where Greeks routinely break the law, the police is non-existent, no day goes by without a hideous crime taking place, and toxicity and xenophobia are the norm. This can't be a serious Magazine, can it?

I love their radio programs and…

I love their radio programs and magazines I am addicted to them.I experience dates back to 2007.during pandemic they where willing to ship my magazines twice.I hope their App could be reborn again and clear all their bugs, I called them so share my experince.

News quality is mixed

After just one podcast (24 Jan 2023), I am not impressed with their news quality - with a notable exception. Seemed out of touch. In an interview with the editor of The Sowetan newspaper, both interviewer and editor ignored obvious questions about trade (possible sale of arms ex Simonstown naval base, effect of war on wheat imports). The exception was a breaking story on the UK government helping Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of PMC Wagner, to circumvent the UK's sanctions and sue a British journalist.

If the media company with the magazine…

If the media company with the magazine ‘monocle’ and radio. Absolutely top class. Great output (bar a bit too pro-Europe and anti-conservative occasionally) but generally a good balance. Magazine Great and magazine customer service is fantastic (after a recent spat over subscription and delivery)

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. Ordered an item Nov 11th. Inquired as to where it was Dec 12th. Advised it was shipped on Dec 16th.... 35 DAYS AFTER I PLACED MY ORDER. This was a christmas present which has not arrived as of January 18th 2021. Countless emails. They send me a tracking id which I cannot fathom. It shows the item arrived in Vancouver Canada Dec 24th then shipped to Germany? From there the trail goes cold I live in Vancouver. I have sent the copies of my order info and each time I email they ask all over again.... finally I have opened a credit card dispute.

Don't buy anything here.

I bought a very expensive Porter bag from these guys a few years ago and used it very infrequently. Not long ago, one of the zips broke and I contacted Monocle to see if they'd replace my bag - or at least offer to send it back to the manufacturer to be repaired. No such luck. Lousy, ill informed service, by people who clearly don't understand their responsibilities as a retailer. Pathetic for a brand that claims to represent the best of everything. Their final decision was that they couldn't help me and tried to push the responsibility to the manufacturer. Avoid buying anything here as they won't accept any responsibility once they've got your money.
