AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE & DO NOT CARE!!

Sadly can’t put 0 stars or I would!
I bought a Peugeot 3008 from Motor town on 3rd August. When I viewed the car beforehand on 30/7/26 I was told it needed a new battery so they would replace it & do a full check over the car before I confirmed purchase to make sure all was fit for purpose. I was reassured a new battery & sensor had been replaced on the car (no paperwork for the battery) I was also assured the mechanic had done a full re service & checked in & around the engine and the whole car.

I drove it home (only an hour away) & ran a few errands before it came up with an oil pressure fault: stop the vehicle engine light on 6th August (not even 72 hours after buying it) I have since then been in contact with motor town trying to return the car for a full refund under consumer rights act 2015 as the car is FAULTY & NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. 2 mechanics have told me the damage of the wet belt will have been like that way before I purchased it & seller will have known this (1 mechanic physically came to look at it & confirmed this). They don’t want to know nor help. 2 weeks now we have been back & forth in arguments, letters & emails sent as my car is sat on the drive unable to be driven as it’s been deemed dangerous & unsafe. They tried offering taking my car back & giving me a refund when the car resold - absolutely not!!

They won’t take any liability & trying to say the fault happened after I bought it - NOT TRUE AS CONFIRMED BY MECHANICS. We are now going down the route of legal action as not only am I now £10k out of pocket, I’m now also out of work as I rely heavily on a car for my job. Buying a car should be a happy & exciting time & it’s done nothing but affect me mentally from stress and worry about effected income. My dad took over on the phonecall and asked if they had any intention to help his daughter (me) with this matter and it went silent so that’s a no!!!
I’m so so angry and upset and wish I never bought from them as they do not care about their customers or what goes wrong after they have your money. Legal action will be a lengthy process however, I will do what it takes as they cannot get away with this & hope they get shut down!!!

PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS & DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THEM & DO NOT BUY FROM THESE COWBOYS AND TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSE WHERE TO A TRUSTED CAR SELLER!!!!!!!! AVOID!!!!!!!

Absolute scam of a place

Absolute scam of a place. Drove down from Glasgow (over 4 hours) and when I arrived the car was damaged from several parts including the door having a big dent which wasn’t shown in photos. Began the test drive and the car started immediately making noises which seemed like something was scraping underneath the car. Sunny made up stories about it being an uneven road and the car is fine before finally admitting something was wrong. We obviously didn’t buy the car and I asked for my deposit back since the car was not fit for purpose and clearly wasn’t advertised as damaged but I was told by Sunny that he would be keeping my deposit. Absolute scam of a place and I would avoid at all costs. 70 yards down the road there is an excellent second hand garage with honest trustworthy people.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY FAKE REVIEWS

If you’re thinking of buying a car from this dealership, do your homework first.

Don’t just look at the 5-star reviews on autotrader which have clearly been left by the dealership. Scroll down and read the lower reviews as that’s where you’ll get a much better idea of other customers’ experiences. The staff are rude and unprofessional and sell cars with multiple issues.

Save yourself the headache and take your money elsewhere.

Horrible Dealership. 0 stars.

If I could give this dealership 0 stars I would. They made me wait indefinitely for the car I bought from them, with no contact unless I called several times a day to try and get an update. They eventually delivered the car about 3 weeks after the agreed date for me to receive it.

When it arrived, one wheel was the wrong colour and the delivery driver left rubbish in the door bins from the chocolate and drinks he likely consumed on the way. The customer service was incredibly poor - person on the other end of the line raised his voice multiple times and spoke in an unprofessional and dismissive tone. It was also very difficult to speak to anyone whenever I tried to contact the dealership.

However the biggest issue is that within the first 6 months of owning the vehicle, it will now no longer go into reverse gear. After taking it to my mechanic for a diagnostic, he found 2 pages worth of faults with the vehicle. Tried contacting Motor Town through their website (no reply of course). Called them up and was told to not bother them and contact my finance company.

After contacting Zuto, I discovered this dealership is now on their ‘banned’ list due to excessive complaints. If that isn’t enough to tell you to buy your car elsewhere, I don’t know what is.

I hope anyone who reads this makes the smart decision and takes their hard earned money elsewhere!

Motor Town owe me £654

In May i part exchanged my car for one of their cars. After taking the new car and leaving mine with them, Motor Town took 7 weeks to settle finance on the car they had from me. so i had to pay 2 monthly payments of £327 to the finance company for a car i no longer had. The finance company sent a new settlement figure to reflect these payments which meant that Motor Town got the car for £654 less than agreed. So i am out of pocket for a car which is on their website for sale. (they also had it up for sale before settling the finance)i have emailed and phoned Motor Town but they are totally ignoring me.

DANGEROUS UNROADWORTHY CARS: ABS & Brakes failed. Total cowboys.

I am reposting this review with a critical update: Motortown Cars is actively supplying dangerous vehicles, using illegal excuses to dodge liability, and lazy management is now completely hiding. My experience was deceptive from the start. When buying a car (Reg: SB71XMD), they aggressively undervalued my part-exchange—only to list it on their site for £3,300. They tried to swindle an extra £100 "admin fee" on the spot. When I challenged it, the salesman faked a call, quickly shut his shutters, and hurried away. They also lied about supplying a 12-month MOT, providing only 9 months.Far worse than the deception, the car was a severe safety hazard. Within days, the ABS and the entire braking system completely failed. I was sold an illegal, dangerous vehicle. When I reported this life-threatening failure, Motortown Cars initially refused to accept liability. They tried to claim they didn't have to do anything because I "had a warranty with a company," which is legally false. They finally collected the car on 25th June 2026 with the director and 2 other people personally collecting the vehicle. Since taking it back, they now claim they have made "repairs and diagnostics," yet they flat-out refuse to provide any physical paperwork or proof of this work. Worse yet, they couldn't even be bothered to look for a Peugeot specialist to check the vehicle, and lazily requested that I find one for them! After a massive fight (including the deleted review which made them suddenly want to engage, as ling as i "removed the review") regarding my lack of transport, they provided a so-called "courtesy car." Unbelievably, this vehicle instantly displayed a dashboard warning stating there is an engine fault needing immediate repair. They replaced a dangerous car with yet another completely unroadworthy vehicle which cannot be driven. Management and the director are now completely ignoring my messages, and my rejected car has been sitting in their yard for nearly three weeks.I have officially exercised my statutory Short-Term Right to Reject under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. I have formally and legally refused all repairs. I have launched a Stage 3 escalation with the finance board, and I am handing this entire timeline—including their refusal to show diagnostics and both unroadworthy vehicles—over to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and Trading Standards. Do not trust this company.

Avoid this dealership

Avoid this dealership. I placed a £99 deposit on a Renault Arkana after agreeing a £13k price, only to experience shocking service and total misrepresentation.
• Poor Preparation: Travelled 70 miles (£64 train fare). Arrived to find the dealer already running the car (hiding a cold start). The interior valet was incredibly poor.
• Mechanical & Cosmetic Faults: Heard an annoying passenger door rattle during the test drive. Back at the yard, a mechanic literally just smashed the inside of the door panel to "fix" it. The windscreen pillar trim was misaligned, and the rear bumper trim was a washed-out, faded grey mess.
• Wasted Time: The dealer took the car to a local spray shop to fix the trim, leaving me stuck at a nearby McDonald’s. He then abandoned me there to pick up another customer. After waiting over 2.5 hours, the car was still taped up and unready. I eventually had to demand a ride back to the train station.
• Hidden History: Only after pressing for information did I discover it was an ex-lease car with a rapid turnaround of owners (one holding it for just 2 months).
• Withholding Deposit: After pulling out of the deal due to the car's condition, the dealer refused a full refund. He tried to deduct money, claiming he spent £300 on servicing and fixing the trim—work that should have been done before I arrived. He only offered a £50 refund.
This is a classic backstreet operation lacking any professionalism. I am currently escalating this through my bank and Trading Standards to recover my deposit. Buyers beware.
Further More after I posted A review on Autotrader the dealer offered to re pay my deposit in full if I removed the review
I would also check companies house
