Run (or drive!) a mile, to any other garage!

Genuinely disgusting service.

Took our family car there for a replacement clutch and flywheel - not a cheap job at almost £1900. Car was returned later than quoted, leaving us in a courtesy car that wasn’t fit for purpose.

Upon receiving the car it was apparent that there was an issue with the clutch and flywheel. I called MTS and was told that a new clutch and flywheel would have defects and needed to bed in! Called again (and again, and again and emailed.) it was agreed that MTS would investigate and fix under warranty. To help with warranty costs I stupidly authorised further work at a cost of over £1200.

It took over two weeks, during which time I was lied to by multiple members of staff. I had to go to MTS and retrieve items from the car, finding it parked under a Transit van. This left oil staining on our car. There was also embedded metal from grinding fallout embedded in the paint and trim at the rear of our car. The seat was stained with oil and the steering wheel was filthy. No care was taken by MTS.

When we received the car back, it STILL wasn’t fixed! I voiced my frustration and was first told by Keith that they would again fix under warranty. I was subsequently emailed and told that they would look at it but I would have to pay for the faulty parts!

Needless to say, communications broke down. Luckily I paid with my credit card so had little choice but to peruse a chargeback to recover the funds. During this time, the flywheel failed completely.

Further costs incurred as a result of the service from MTS - a £300 detail to remove the oil staining to the exterior, seat and steering wheel and grinding fallout at the rear.

Genuinely the worst automotive experience, spread over 10 months from initial job to reimbursement of costs from Barclaycard. I realise mistakes happen and new parts fail, but the way it was handled by Keith in particular is unacceptable.

There are other French specialist businesses on the Nuffield and at Holton Heath - I’d strongly suggest speaking to them for a second opinion before visiting MTS.

Looking forward to reading the response from MTS, don’t forget that I have emails, photos and letters to prove that what I’ve written is 100% true and accurate!

In short, run (or drive) a mile to any other garage!

MTS Automotive is highly recommended

I discovered MTS Automotive by chance a while ago. It’s a local operation off Oxford Road in Reading, Berkshire.
The owner, Steve, is as helpful, friendly and trustworthy as one could wish for.
Highly recommended!
