Spent ages filling out application 75…
Spent ages filling out application 75 questions just to be instantly denied. It denied me before even looking at my answers.
Waste of time
Visited their website to register.
After spending a lot of my time filling in all the relevant boxes and answering all the questions in depth (each question requires a minimum of 75 words), I filled in the registration form perfectly and upon submitting was told my application was unsuccessful.
When I contacted the company they could not explain why but told me to try again in six months.
I tried to register several years back and had the same experience.
Waste of my 30 minutes of my life!
Pathetic company and website!
A strange experience with these
A strange experience with these, first report had the comment 'well written' but after completing two further visits I failed the trial period. The only reason given was 'Unfortunately, your written reports have not met the standard that our clients require'.
However, I had found that rather than 'mystery dining' many of the pubs offered as assignments did not even sell food, were not in great areas. Among other assignments were fast food take aways at motorway services and take away doughnuts. Not my idea of dining!
I don't think I could have done a great deal of work for this company, so not disappointed.

A well run company with lots of clients.
However, the reimbursements have failed to keep up with the clients requested orders and I have been left out of pocket many times and that’s excluding transport and parking costs.
The reports can also be very lengthy so you have to allocate quite a-lot of your time.
The generous clients make the work worth while, but many companies are putting up their prices in the restaurant but not their reimbursement,
Excellent Company
I have completed a number of assignments for this company and find them excellent to work with. They allow me to book restaurants at a time and date to suit my lifestyle and whilst they want a very detailed report with lots of questions and answers I think they are an excellent company to be part of and clearly provide their clients with a very detailed report.
you need to pay for the food AND write a report for free
Unfortunately they only reimburse you 50-80% and pay nothing. So you have to fill out very long reports and take lots of photos, all for free. And only get compensated for some of the food. And if you forget one tiny detail they don't reimburse you anything.
They also only have a very small number of restaurants, mostly cheap fast food places or bars.
So they just want free labour and yet they charge their clients a lot of money. I don't understand why they can't pay and compensate their shoppers properly?
Other mystery companies pay you for the work and reimburse you 100%.
The positive reviews from shoppers must be fake, can't imagine any of their shoppers being satisfied, that's laughable ...
The good thing is they have the app.
Great company
I have been with this company for 6 years and had some of the best experiences. The team are delightful and so helpful all of the time. It is a real joy to work with them.
7+ Years Dining with HGem
I have been a Diner with the Mystery Dining company HGem for over 7 years. This company has always been superb in their interactions with me. HGem promptly reply to any queries raised, both before and after assignments have been completed. I have also had a 100% reimbursement rate for the assignments which I have completed. The web based platform for booking assignments is very easy to use and there are a wide variety of experiences to choose from. Working with HGem has afforded me opportunities and experiences at high end establishments that I may otherwise not visit. I would recommend this company to others looking for similar experiences.
Join the team!
Would highly recommend this company, if you don't mind writing feedback. They are a great team who are always on your side.
Happy diner

Free Food and Fun!
It's been great being able to visit a variety of restaurants for the last 18 months- some of which I would never have considered! The options are vast from a fast food outlets to fine dining. There are opportunities for entertainment visits as well eg cinemas, darts etc. The feedback required is concise and not as arduous as you would expect. I'd 100% recommend signing up!
Prompt payers and some lovely visits
Love doing dines for this organisation. The support team is really helpful if I get stuck and need to contact them. Best of all, they are prompt payers. Reimbursement comes around three weeks after you have submitted the feedback questionnaire.

I was lucky enough to get a visit to the Ivy with HGEM mystery dining. A great process from start to finish
A great process from start to finish. It's really easy to sign up and complete visits, being able to try out different brands and hotels with the experience being covered is just amazing. Thoroughly recommend!!!
I've done a nice range of visits from…
I've done a nice range of visits from chain restaurants to hotel and spa visits, and the report writing is a little clunky and lengthy, but for what you can get, it's well worth the time spent.
