Information provided by various external sources

New Art Exchange (NAE) is the largest contemporary visual arts space in the UK representing Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic perspectives. NAE formed in 2003 as a limited company and charity and launched as a venue in September 2008. The organisation was born from two pioneering grass roots organisations EMACA and Apna Arts. Located in Nottingham’s inner-city Hyson Green neighbourhood, NAE operates in the heart of a vibrant, creative community, rich in culture and heritage representative of many parts of the world - the international square mile of Nottingham. We are leading the way with diversity in the arts from the centre of our organisation, with 75% of our board members and 55% of our workforce coming from BAME backgrounds. Our mission is ‘stimulating new perspectives about the value of diversity in art and society’, and our vision is to act as a vehicle for expression and engagement with ‘art from diverse cultures for all’. We strive for artistic excellence, profiling and developing local, national and international culturally diverse artists.
