Don't bother with the powerball

Don't bother with the powerball. The odds are so crap of winning anything due to they've increased the amount of numbers you have to select plus a £4 price tag. Needs stopping. Just encouraging bad gambling.

Hi Rob, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

Powerball is new to the UK, but has been in the US since 1992. The UK version of Powerball has been specially tailored for UK players and costs £4 per line.

Alongside playing for the shared jackpot, UK players get extra guaranteed value, including a unique £8 Match 2 prize that does not exist in the US and a fixed £1M prize for matching five numbers.

I have done the lottery from day one

I have done the lottery from day one, over 30 years. I did a calculation on the lines I have done every week and it adds up to over £20,000. My highest win was £94 for 4 numbers many years ago and a few £10 and £30 prizes. I am pretty confident to say it will not amount to more than £300. Now the time has come to call it a day, just feel like I am literally been robbed every week with the new system and please don’t give a reply of you get two chances to win £1m. More like they can give less in prizes, fill their own pockets and give same amounts to charity. Online events like dream house etc will now get my money. Powerball…what a joke 😂

Hi Chris, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

The game is designed so that jackpots are paid over a 30 year period. This allows winners to receive a higher total prize than they would receive if paid a one off lump sum, while also providing significant regular payments to support long term planning.

Hi John, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.
With the updated Lotto format, every draw now offers 2 chances to win £1M+ prizes. To enable this, some lower-tier prizes have been reduced. Since the changes took effect, we’ve created 50 new millionaires! ^Kane

I used to play every week. Now play once a month, never win anything worth talking about.
Used to win on scratch cards aswell, but this company, you hardly get any winners, and when you do, it's always £5, nothing higher.

Hi Ruth, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

We still make lots of winners across all of our games. However only a small percentage choose to take publicity. Here's a story about Jack who won £100K on the Deal or No Deal Scratchcard back in February of this year.

The updated Lotto game now gives players 2 chances to win prizes of £1 million or more in every draw. This has meant reducing some of the lower-tier prizes. Since these changes were introduced, Lotto has created more than 45 new millionaires. ^Kane

Make more players wealthy

Since this new company took over checking £1 winnings is a joke, and the huge lottery amounts going to 1/2 players is also a joke, start making more winners and perhaps your loyal players will come back, I have reduced my players and may stop playing soon.

Waste of money....no value whatsoever

The lottery is a huge waste of money and it took me over 20 years to realise this. They have slowly increased the amount of numbers whilst simultaneously reducing the chances of winning. Disgraceful way of ripping of people

Hi Mark, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.
Players can now win more often and can win more than once in a single night.

The prize for matching two main numbers in a single round is now a £1 cash prize, which gives players more flexibility and choice in how to spend their win. Players can also win this 'Match 2' prize – and any other prize for that matter – twice on one single £2 Lotto line. ^Jack

What have I missed?

What have I missed?
Tonight, Powerball is being advertised on the National-Lottery website as having an estimated jackpot of £467 million, which when converted at the current $ rate, equates to $630,870,300.00. However, the current Powerball jackpot is, at this moment in time, in the USA, being advertised as the 8th highest jackpot in the history of the Powerball, at $905,000,000.00, which equates to £669,923,754.53.
Whilst on the topic,... why is the jackpot paid over 30 years if the fortune is won by a UK resident, when, if the prize is won by an American citizen, there is an alternative of taking a lump sum as well?
I am aware that I may well be missing something within the terms of the lottery contract, so if a kind soul would care to explain I would be appreciative.
Many thanks.

Hi Mark. thank you for leaving us your feedback on Trustpilot.

The UK and US calculate advertised Jackpots differently. The UK figure includes exchange rates and UK tax rules, while the US figure is shown before tax.
Given the huge amounts the Powerball Jackpot can reach, the game is designed so that Jackpots are paid over a 30 year period. This allows winners to receive a higher total prize than they would receive if paid a one off lump sum, while also providing significant regular payments to support long term planning.
I hope that helps with your understanding of the game. ^Jack

I’m disappointed with the recent…

I’m disappointed with the recent National Lottery app update, before the update everything worked perfectly, I had all my favourite numbers saved and could easily check my tickets and results, now my saved numbers have disappeared, the app sometimes doesn’t load properly and checking previous tickets is much more difficult, I’m also disappointed with the new Powerball, a £446 million jackpot sounds impressive but paying £4 per play for a prize paid over 30 years simply doesn’t seem worth it, I’ve personally decided to boycott Powerball and I would encourage other players to do the same, I’ve also started cutting back on other games and now I mainly stick to set for life and Lotto and don’t even play EuroMillions anymore, overall the recent changes have made the National Lottery experience worse rather than better

Hi Mantas, thank you for leaving us your feedback on Trustpilot.

Sorry to hear that you are having some issues with the app. You can save your favourite numbers if you do the following:
Sign into your account,
Select the game you would like to play.
Go to 'Favourite Numbers'.
A screen will then appear showing you your favourite numbers.
If you would like to edit these, you will need to add a new line and delete your old ones.
If you don't have any favourite numbers, you can add these by clicking '+ New Favourite Number.
I hope that helps. ^Jack
