Not what they used to be
I mean what is there to say really. Native Instruments used to be the trailblazers and make such cool stuff. Now they put more effort into their ads that I see multiple times EVERY day instead. I mean the pricing is ridiculous to begin with. Their update model where there's basically nothing new going on with Kontakt 8 but I don't even want to know how much an upgrade is from 7. And no I'm not gonna count the weird aprpeggiators or chords because I have no use for that. Massive X is.. I mean, Massive, the OG that is a legend.. Massive X is just a synth with a horrible user interface. Guitar Rig is way behind it feels like compared to something like Amp Room from Softube. What do they even make? They just pump out weird "blend between layers"-libraries for Kontakt and they can be somewhat useful but they all basically sound the same. Their symphonic series is honestly BAD compared to any other premium orchestral library out there. It just ..doesn't sound good. At all. It feels like the guiding light over at NI these days is "greed and lazy products". Truly. I should however give them credit for their hardware, I own a Komplete Keyboard mk II and .. well, it doesn't communicate with Kontakt.. so it's totally worthless in THAT regard BUT.. it's honestly a great midi keyboard in every other regard. There's obviously great talented people working at NI, I wish them the best and that someone who's calling the shots give them something a little more innovative to work on going forward. But I think they've grown too big and almost all their competitors far ahead when it comes to interesting products these days. I'm a little concerned what will happen to Ozone that feels somewhat stagnated too at this point but they do make really useful stuff if you skip the assistant function. (or I guess that's a useful function too if you want a starting point, but for me the result is always too much of a smiley eq and waaaay too bright.) Get BACK ON TRACK NI!

Very poor support
Ive used native instruments products for some time now (mainly plugins). Its seems though they dont want to support any customers anymore. Having bought a few newer products from them recently, ive been unable to get them working. Their customer support is a joke and they really just dont care. I also had a voucher which they gave me which doesnt work too. Why cant we just have downloads for each of our purchased plugins rather than having to run the stupid app to manage them all. Their online web support is also terrible (typical computer AI with no actual people to respond)

My experience with Native Instruments was excellent. I had an issue with the lending institution regarding NI product and the creditor. NI held in there for me through a lengthy back-and-forth for four months! Their cooperation, and friendly, supportive manner should set an example for other businesses.
They come across like self conscious teenagers frightened of adult contact!!!
I deliberated long and hard over buying Flowstate (Sonnicuture) from NI as they DON'T do trial versions. In the end I went for it and I cannot see how Flowstate works. You are supposed to be able to drop in a sample adn it sonically changes it in an interesting way especially if in need of inspiration.. well all I am getting is various random, sometimes atonal pad sounds. I have tried to contact NI about a refund and there is a small chat icon I found eventually and a robot idiot. They are hiding all forms of contact. Anyway I told the robot I wanted a human and they said wait one minute.. I waited 30 and still no human. Over the years I have spent a few thousand pounds with this company and never realised how absolutely nasty and grabbing they seem. Well I will never buy anything more from them after this experience and I was contemplating a £500 update to Komplete 15! Not now! Terrible experience
SINCE writing this I have had a message they will refund me. The lack of customer service still stands but at least they have acknowledged me now! Waiting to see if the money gets into PayPal though!

I have used NI for some time now, mostly after their takeover of Izotope with whom I had spent a great deal of money. Unfortunately it seems that NI couldn't care less about their loyal customer base and offer virtually nothing in terms of loyalty offers. Purchasers of their software, who have never purchased a thing from NI, can purchase NI software from other companies cheaper than the so called "loyalty offers" to long term customers. That is just shameful business practice. Sadly the great offers that I used to receive from Izotope have also gone down the drain since the takeover by NI. Also, the Native Access downloader software is sadly problematic. It is buggy, and the program updates don't seem to want to install half the time. My recent experiences with NI will sadly mean that I will no longer be purchasing from either them or Izotope until they start to show some customer loyalty. Loyalty either works both ways, or it doesn't work at all. Hugely disappointed. :(

I bought Komplete 9 years ago then I upgraded to Komplete 10, I use Cubase and honestly I have never had problems like all these reviews say, in fact I also have Arturia Na the sounds of NI are much much better you can really do everything, it is logical that you have to apply yourself to learn to use them, but this is something that applies to any software, however the instructions are there, just read, you can't expect everything to be easy at the first step. A piece of advice that no one tells you, if you want to use these programs, either make an investment with a powerful CPU otherwise you will always have problems. I invested in the PC and everything works like a charm, as for VST I have tried other brands, but honestly NI has a quality product at a very good price, for my experience with VST I recommend it.

The worst customer service ever!
The worst customer service ever!! They use stupid robots. You have to chat over and over in order to get a customer service ticket. Once you get a ticket, and they close the case without giving you a chance to respond, they never respond back to the email. I had an issue, needed an invoice, they only sent me one when I needed two. I had to go through the robot nightmare again to create a new ticket. No response! I needed the invoice for tax purposes and now I just have to use my credit card statement as proof. Horrible customer service.
