I managed to pass with Sarah
I managed to pass with Sarah, she was an excellent instructor, she was patient and informative, would highly recommend
Sally was absolutely lovely
Sally was absolutely lovely. She was so patient and really adapted to trying to learn the “why” about parts I struggled with, which helped the bigger picture and my confidence, rather than just patching the smaller issue.
Sally is a great instructor passed…
Sally is a great instructor passed first time, thanks for the patience and getting me to this point!

passed first try with paul amazing teacher
Paul B - thank you and can't recommend enough.
Was recommended Paul B via a colleague at work a few months ago, and it turned out to be great advice. It's taken me 30yrs (in my defence, that's only 3 tests in that time...), so I've had a few instructors over the decades, and I can categorically state that Paul is the best I've had.
Was always focused on building up my confidence (I am a little bit of an anxious driver - hence my reluctance to commit over the years), he kept insisting I was ready for the test (and he was right), and was always very aware of the situation around us whilst driving and highlighting areas of improvement in a calm, patient and informative way. Plus, he's a lovely chap!
So glad of the recommendation, and can't recommend him enough to others.
I’m delighted to have passed my driving…
I’m delighted to have passed my driving test after my 4th attempt, and I honestly couldn’t have done it without Sara Johnson at Nayland Driving School.
Sara never gave up on me. She stayed patient, encouraging, and supportive throughout my journey, helping me learn from every mistake and build my confidence. Her calm teaching style and clear guidance made a huge difference, and she always believed in me even when I doubted myself.
Thank you, Sara, for your dedication, patience, and encouragement. I highly recommend Nayland Driving School to anyone looking for a professional and caring driving instructor.
Paul was an excellent instructor
Paul was an excellent instructor. He was reassuring, patient and supportive and worked with my complicated schedule. He didn’t try to pressure me into additional lessons and he finally got me through my test with 0 faults. Highly recommend 😊
I just passed my test today
I just passed my test today, I’ve had the pleasure of being taught by Paul, amazing guy, great teacher and most of all a great person in general. I thoroughly enjoyed the lessons I spent with him and he taught me extremely well and couldn’t recommend him and this driving school enough to others. Hopefully everyone will have the same experience as I did because it was a real joy learning to drive with him.
Passed first try with Paul
Passed first try with Paul! Great experience
Very good!
I was able to pass first try thanks to Sally! She has helped me a lot on my learning journey and was very accomodating to my style of learning. Would highly recommend!
Thank you!
Priscilla Adetomiw
I passed my driving test on the first attempt with guidance from Priscilla. Each lesson was tailored to my needs, which really helped me improve quickly. I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and professional instructor.
Great!
I had Paul as my driving instructor and he was very helpful and great. Passed first time!
I would highly recommend Andy Orlowski…
I would highly recommend Andy Orlowski for all your driving instructor needs.
He enabled my daughter Rebecca to pass first time with ease. He started with the basics and built from there.
He builds confidence and is straight talking. He has a great rapport and also helps educate parents on how to build on his teachings for when you take your kids out in between lessons (if you are able to do so).
Highly recommended 👍🏻
AVOID DARREN AT ALL COSTS!!!!
I waited to pass my practical test before I come drop a review. I definitely did not continue with Nayland and I would not recommend!!
I saw all the good reviews online and like you, I was deceived. Apparently if you read through, you’d see the good reviews are for certain instructors. I was randomly allocated to Darren and it was the most terrible experience. I see I’m not the only reviewer that had an issue with Darren.
When he’s not spending time during lessons telling you how good he is at his job, he spends the rest of the time taking personal calls or talking to you about personal matters, very unrelated to driving or learning
He was almost always never on time for lessons. I’d call at the time and only then would he tell me he’d have to reschedule.
Next was scheduling classes. Why take on new students if you barely have any slots available? I literally had to beg for time and was lucky to get 1 class per month. When I talked about this, he said he was trying to “prioritize students who had closer test dates” which I understood.
When my test date was getting closer and I reached out to him, after barely having any classes, thinking it’s my turn to be “prioritized”, he said and I quote (I’m just gonna paste his text message)
“I am incredibly busy because I am very good at what I do and currently have no availability for you as am full with other students until September. I have been trying my hardest to find some availability for you as I was hoping some more of my current students would have found tests by now to get passed and free up space for you but this has sadly not been the case. The other students were all there before you and I’ve spent many hours helping them. You are clearly not happy waiting anymore so I suggest you look for another instructor”
Before I started, I told him my exam was in September and he said he’d be able to fit me in… And in 4 months, I only got 2 classes
By the way, before I started lessons, I’d been driving already with an international license which was yet to expire. Before he saw me drive to assess me, he told me I’d need 20 classes to get ready for my test! 20!!! And I’ve been driving already for years? I wonder how many he recommends for new drivers. Obviously cares only about himself and the money
My current driving instructor “DEFINITELY NOT NAYLAND!!!!” did it in less than 10 classes.
100% do not recommend! At least, not Darren
10/10 instructor Andy Orlowski.
Andy Orlowski was recommended by a friend and I honestly can’t recommend him highly enough. After going through four previous instructors, I had picked up some bad habits and developed some road anxiety.
He was patient, calm, and incredibly skilled at identifying exactly what I needed to improve. He helped me unlearn bad habits, rebuild my confidence, and feel genuinely comfortable behind the wheel. Lessons were well-structured but never stressful, and he explained things in a way that finally made everything click.
Thanks to this approach, driving actually became enjoyable. I passed my driving test first time with him and now feel confident and capable driving independently. I’m really grateful for his support and would recommend him to anyone especially those who may have struggled with confidence in the past.
Andy Orlowski - Colchester
I had Andy Orlowski as my driving instructor for my test in Colchester, and I passed first time! I was taught everything in depth and I was given really useful advice throughout, I’m a massive perfectionist and Andy tailored my lessons in a way that meant I wasn’t anxious or overthinking and I was super relaxed going into my test! Everything went at my pace and I didn’t do anything that was too out of my comfort zone until I was ready, he believed in me and my capability throughout and his patience turned me from a slightly nervous and cautious driver into a confident one super quickly.
I’m so happy with my test result, and feel super happy and confident now driving by myself :))))
Highly recommend Paul
Paul was extremely helpful and patient with me, he was extremely approachable, friendly and supportive. Been a pleasure driving with him!
Would recommend
I had Andy Orlowski as my driving instructor in Colchester and he helped me pass first time! He really helped me improve my confidence on the road and to feel test ready. He gave me so many good tips and advice especially for after passing the test. I really appreciate his help and I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive and helpful instructor!
Really recommend!
I had Andy Orlowski as my driving instructor in Colchester. He helped me with improving my confidence and not only feeling test ready but feeling ready for driving by yourself after passing your test. I highly recommend Nayland driving school, there is nothing to fault about it.
Andy Orlowski - Brilliant Instructor
Andy was a recommendation to us from a number of other parents and we now know why!
He is the warmest of people and the most competent of instructors, providing a perfect environment for learning to drive and passing your test successfully!
He is patient and knowledgable, and has a great knack of building confidence in a safe and measured way.
My son passed successfully with him, but most importantly I know he has the skill set to be sensible and safe on the road the way Andy has taught him.
My son was always relaxed with him during lessons and really enjoyed the learning experience ( and the chats …!)
When my youngest’s time comes to learn I will not hesitate to use Andy again.
Highly recommend…! Thanks Andy !
