I like most of my experience with…

I like most of my experience with Netim. I use it to purchase and manage .fi names. The UI is smart and intuitive. Pricing is good. I have had issues managing DNS for .fi names. Apparently the registry has zero tolerance for any dns discrepancy, however arcane or at what level, and this has been a source of frustration when I have gone to park domains. But, this doesn't have anything to do with Netim itself, which is professional and has decent support.

One of the best services on the market

Netim has one of the best prices on the market, especially for the not so common TLDs. Admin part is also well manageable, so it provides a seamless experience. This review is based on a personal experience with multiple providers :).

Good and friendly support but their password rules made so that we went with a different provider. Limiting passwords to 30 characters and considering most characters "invalid" in 2025 when you are a hosting company is a big red flag.

Edit: the issue isn’t necessarily that the password can’t be safe but that it makes passwords generators incompatible with their service and tracking down what characters that isn’t supported is a pain as they don’t tell you in their error messages. Turns out they can't resist destroying the reputation of their support either.

I find the part about passwords a little harsh. In fact, we accept the main special characters (!@#%^&*()-_ []{}~+=,.;:/? | as well as upper and lower signs, which are not accepted in comments on Trustpilot) and with a 30-character password that follows our recommendations (i.e. including upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers and special characters), with an expensive equipment, it would take more than 449 quadrillion years to hack it (source: https://www.hivesystems.com/blog/are-your-passwords-in-the-green)

We will allow longer passwords to be created, but technically we have to set a limit. If we set it at 40, someone will say, ‘What, only 40? That's ridiculous...’ and it will always be the same, no matter what the limit is 😉

No control over their own payment system

Having created a new account with a view to transferring my domain names here, I tried to add a payment method. The nominal payment was confirmed by 2FA by my bank but rejected by the website with "Paiement refusé". When I queried this via a support ticket, I received the response: "Lyra rejette les paiements pour suspicion de fraude. Nous n’avons malheureusement pas la main pour vous assister davantage sur ce sujet." Useless.

To clarify, the payment refusal does not come from Netim.

Our provider’s antifraud system, which we do not control and whose internal rules are not disclosed to us, may occasionally block transactions even when the customer’s bank has validated them. In those cases, we unfortunately cannot override the decision.

Sébastien is a legend :)

Initially, I experienced a delay with a .dj domain update and was frustrated by the lack of updates from the support team.

However, after escalating the issue, Sébastien personally intervened. He was transparent about the technical issues with the registry, kept me updated, and managed to finally force the update through.

While the wait was difficult, I am very impressed by the recovery and the fact that senior management took personal ownership to solve the problem for me. My domain is now working perfectly.
