They don't tell you about monthly subscription and external transfer fees. Additionally, they dont make it easy to close the account. You need to call them but they dont pick up. So you are stuck

Opened a pre paid credit card account and linked my bank account to it. I was able to transfer money from my bank account to the pre paid card, but every time I tried using card it was rejected. I contacted support and after 30 minutes they told me my account wasn't fully activated and they took care of it, but it may take an hour or two before the card works. I waited 7 hours and when I tried to use the card again it was still getting rejected. After another hour with support they told me my account was fine and they would escalate the issue, it it may take days before it is fix if ever. I decided netspend wasn't worth it so I logged into my account and tried to to transfer my money back to my linked banked account, but kept getting error telling me to try again later. So for third time I contacted support and after 60 minutes of them blaming me, the websites I tried to use the card, and my bank for not letting me transfer the money back, the finally agreed to close my account and send me a check for a refund. Of course I have to wait up to two weeks to get the money back that only took them seconds to transfer from my bank account

I really regret purchasing a card from Netspend. I buy the card at Family Dollar, use it once to buy something off the app store, all of a sudden it starts declining. Also why must I verify myself for a temporary card?? I only needed to see the balance(I thought that was why it was declining but nope) I want my 41 bucks back. Let me get my money back netspend.

After 20 + years of having NetSpend they are now limiting how much I can transfer to my spouse. It's not their money and they shouldn't have a say on me getting it. I will be looking for a different place to do business, maybe one with people who speak good English

Bounced a $200 transfer after the first transfer went through ok. Charged me $5 for the card, then another $5 after I called to ask for statements. Thiefs. Customer service replies fast but will demand your personal and financial info such as your regular bank statements. Someone needs to shut them down. I want my $10 back.

got over $1000 stolen from me from a purchase i made online, waited over a month for my dispute just to have it reopen and immediately denied. got told there’s absolutely no one i can call and nothing i can do. i am extremely upset and i want my money back.

I had the the NetSpend card my Disability Social security for 967.00 there is fraud they did nothing to stop it.It was all gone on December 26th 2025 they did nothing to help all I got was runaround lies I gave them all the information they are . I will do anything to stop them from stealing from people how do they get away stealing a Government ✔️

I don’t know how this company got my data, but I’ve been getting targeted email and mailers. The fact that they send me a card that could be activated perhaps by anyone and they don’t give you any information about how this could work is bullshit in my opinion. This feels illegal And highly unethical.

Customer service needs more training when talking with customers. All the over talking, the uhhs not cool. Especially when you are trying to explain the problem and the agent keeps overtalking you. Now for the biggest issue..had to report card stolen since i had 2 fraud charges on my card..plus 2 $20 overdraft fees. I got the regular money back and now Im being told I cant have my overdraft fees. Something that was out of my control. And now im being told i cant have my money back..yep time to move my money somewhere else..this aint the first time neither

I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH HOW IT IS ALLOWED FOR A CUSTOMER TO GET A CARD, PUT A PIN CODE, AND NOT BE ABLE TO USE THE CARD. WHY IS IT ALLOWED FOR A CUSTOMER WITHOUT ID TO GET A CARD AND MAKE A PIN CODE AND STILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE IT? NOW, DUE TO THE LACK OF INFORMATION GIVEN BY THE CARD ISSUER, THIS CUSTOMER MUST NOW WAIT 20 DAYS TO RECEIVE A CHECK IN WHICH SHE MAY BE ABLE TO CASH DUE TO LACK OF VALID IDENTIFICATION. SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PUT ANY MONEY ON THIS CARD DUE TO HER NOT BEING ASKED FOR VALID IDENTIFICATION AT PURCHASE. THE BUSINESSES THAT SELL THIS CARD NEED TO BE MORE INFORMED ON NETSPEND'S POLICIES AND PROCEDURES TO ENSURE THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE. IF THIS WERE TO CONTINUE, THEN THEY SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SELL YOUR PRODUCT.

The pros are getting my direct deposit 3 days before a paper check. And being able to overdraft for a $20 fee.
After over TEN years with the company the BIG Cons: I am unable to add my 2 other bank debit cards in order to do transfers. I was able to add a bank account. But every time I try to transfer funds from Netspend which has $849 availabe, an INSFFICIENT FUNDS pop up blocks my efforts!! I called customer service and was assured that this would be remedied within 15 minutes. Lies!
