To sign in I've treble-checked every character - letters & numbers - so many times & each time they don't recognise my User ID and my password, sending me endless emails to 'reset' which never provide the opportunity to proceed.
This has happened previously too! I hope (!!!) to get through on the telephone tomorrow & transfer all my savings; I wish I'd read Trust Pilot before I'd applied to join!

Phoned Gateshead branch to reinvest my ISA, the lady I spoke to couldn't get me off the phone quick enough in fact just about hung up on me.
She was no help at all.

What a great website! I have saved with lots of different building societies over the years.
The Newcastle has by far and away the most navigable and most informative website. It's as if the designer asked themselves what information a customer might be seeking, and then set out to provide it as accessibly as possible. The interest rate was very acceptable too. It's all too easy to write critical reviews, but laudatory ones are important too.

Good interest rates

ISA matured a week ago but yet to be transferred to new institution. I was lied to when they said it had been transferred on the day of maturity because the online account showed it sitting there. My online account is now shut down and I can't access it. Do they deliver my money by hand? I can't think of any other explanation. They cannot compete with the big boys, so it is best to avoid them.

Asked for help. Got help. But the geezer was a bit rancid and unappealing. (proper pedo vibes). Really ruined the experience. I couldn't take it anymore and had to walk out.

I love the fact this is local. The NBS are committed to keeping branches open which is good news in my eyes.

Please do not waste your time with Newcastle Building society. They are in the dark ages when it comes to technology and their customer service is terrible.

Newcastle Building Society took a large deposit of money for a cash ISA. The money was transferred in May. I received a letter today stating the money would be returned and the application wasn't successful due to them not receiving documents? I've had no correspondence via email or post. They had my money for four months and returned with no interest earned on the amount. Four months of no interest. I am disgusted with this appalling service.
