After waiting almost 5 years for a full left knee replacement on the Welsh NHS, the pain got so bad that I started to search for alternatives.

My research brought me to Nordorthopaedics in Lithuania, and I can honestly say it was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life.

From first making contact on email, the team there made everything a breeze for me.

Had my surgery 2 weeks ago today and am now home recovering after spending 11 days post op receiving intense physiotherapy at the clinic.

All staff including admin, surgery and physio teams and logistics get an 11 out of 10 for everything they have done to help me get back to a pain free way of living.

I cannot speak highly enough of everything I’ve experienced here, from start to finish, it’s been simply amazing.

If anyone is in constant pain and are awaiting knee or hip surgery, then maybe this may just be the place for you to come and get your life back 🙌🏼.

From the start the excellent communication with the agents. All the staff at the clinic are lovely & reassuring. I had to go early & have cardiology tests at a cost of €200 compared to £700 plus in the UK. Pick up from the airport very smooth, pre op tests carried out at the clinic just cannot fault any of it. I travelled alone & stayed at The Kaunas hotel, downside was there wasn't any grab rails in the bathroom. Operation day picked up by logistics taken to clinic, shown into my room, bit of time to get comfortable. Met anaesthetist discussed everything thoroughly and met the Professor my surgery was due at 2pm eventually went to theatre at 3pm, next thing I was back in my room still numb from spinal block, one on one nurse, dinner served up on my feet 5 hours later. Pain meds administered at regular intervals. Next morning physio and general recovery. I was discharged Wednesday and taken to the UPA Spa rehabilitation centre. That experience was a completely different matter, which i am in ongoing negotiations with. My advice is avoid at all costs. I am now day 10 post op very happy to be at home & on the road to recovery. Thank you Nordorthopeadics.

I’m now one month on from the second hip replacement that I’ve had at Nord, and can only repeat the substance of my review from February 2024, i.e. the process was smooth from start to finish and all the staff I came into contact with were friendly and caring (and spoke good English). If you can’t wait for the NHS, a new hip or knee at Nord (including travel, accommodation & post-op physio) will be approximately half the cost of the same private operation in the UK, and outcomes seem to be overwhelmingly good. From my own experience, I have no hesitation in recommending Nordorthopaedics.

We have just returned from Lithuania where my husband had a total right hip replacement. I can only say from start to finish the service was amazing . Kotryna our customer service rep was so supportive from her first email , sending information, explaining the process and keeping us updated . The clinic staff were professional , friendly and the Surgeon was just so approachable and down to earth , checking in on my husband and talking him through his surgery and aftercare . We stayed at the Kaunas hotel which was so comfortable and staff were helpful and accommodating . This was again organised through Kotryna who booked for us . Lastly the logistics team were brilliant , always on time , kept us informed of pick ups and took my husband each day for his physio at the clinic . What struck we most was how many people from Northern Ireland were in the hotel/ clinic at the same time, as well as patients from Wales & Canada . The community of support was great as everyone talked about their recovery . Would he go back ? Yes , we are planning to have his knee replacement done next year .

Just read a handful of the reviews about Nord Orthopedics and your mind should be made up. Hip replacement for me, what a fantastic experience from the first email to returning home. Totally professional from start to finish, it ran like clockwork, from administrators to nurses, my surgeon and his team, to aftercare and physio program, I can't recommend enough.
Choice of a 4 to 6 year wait on our NHS, £18k for private surgery and 1 overnight stay in UK, to less than £10k for flights (2 people), 14 night stay in hotel (excellent), surgery and implant, 10 days physio at the clinic with top professor, all transportation from airport, to and from physio, then back to airport. Level of care and professionalism, clinic set up, second to none.

It has been 18 months since my Rotator Cuff Surgery at Nordorthopaedics- I attended the clinic with quite a useless arm with a lot of pain - my correspondence was straight forward along with the treatment plan and costs. Arrived for my operation - all very straight forward - consultation, paid, operation, one week recovery - that hurt a lot - i just wasn’t prepared for the first few weeks of pain - my fault i thought i was superman - 18 months later - fully recovered- i don’t quite have the strength of pre operation and when it’s cold I have a minor ache - The nurses and the surgeon were great - thank you for helping me - I would still be waiting in Spain !

I initially learned of Nordorthopaedics Clinic in 2018 when I was researching facilities for treatment of left hip osteoarthritis.  I found the care offered at Nord to line up in every way to what I was seeking.  My successful left total hip arthroplasty was performed in Sep 2018 by Nord, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations resulting in amazing medical care.

It was an easy choice to once again choose Nord when it became obvious my right hip had deteriorated and would require surgery.  I initially made contact with Nord customer service to inquire and found the initial contact to be professional and informative. I was assigned an agent to assist me with the entire process. Neringa was great in communicating and coordinating all requirements of the clinic to assess whether I was a solid candidate for the surgery. After providing the necessary laboratory tests, x-rays and medical screening forms, I was offered several options of available surgery dates. All customer service interactions were great; all surgery costs were communicated clearly, and guidelines regarding pre and post surgery expectations were provided. 

The clinic occupies an excellent, modern, state of the art facility in Kaunas. Once the surgery date is set and travel itineraries provided to customer service, the Nord Logistics team spring into action. They were extremely easy to communicate with via What's App, allowing professional coordination of all patient pickups and drop-offs. The Nord fleet of vehicles was super comfortable, and the team of drivers was very personable, friendly, patient, and helpful. My 24 Nov 2025 surgery was as smooth as the 2018 surgery. For Monday morning surgeries, the pre-op medical screenings are performed at the Nord's Esthetics Clinic that occupies a favorable position in central Kaunas.  Again, the reception and staff at the clinic were second to none. All of my pre-op checks were done quickly, and I was able to pay the outstanding costs for my care right there at reception. My surgery the next day was wonderful, if you can describe any surgery as such. The professional anesthesiologist and talented surgeon, Dr. Sarunas Tarasevicius stopped by prior to surgery to check on me and again a few hours after the surgery. Their calming nature instilled confidence that was very reassuring. Everything went perfectly and I was up and taking a few steps that evening by dinner time.  After a two-night clinic stay, I was released and initially completed two days of physical therapy with Nord before transferring to UPA Medical Spa for further rehab. The Nord physical therapy offering is new from 2018 surgery, and the facility and therapists were excellent. In a small group format, therapist Laimonas Siupsinskas is able to monitor all patients and run them thru the most effective exercises that are critical for the early stages of post-operative rehab. The physio homework assigned are safe and simple exercises, but ensure patients are able to build on the great therapy that began in the Nord physio facility.

All and all, it would be hard to find a more all-around quality orthopedic clinic experience such as what is offered at Nord. The communication, the facilities, the staff, the professionalism, and everything in between all create a superior experience when joint surgery becomes a necessity. Heartfelt thanks to the amazing staff at Nord for once again improving my quality of life.

As a retired NHS physio, I approached my hip replacement with some curiosity and apprehension, how would it be on the "other side". The whole experience was extremely positive. The whole process was like a well oiled machine, no question unanswered I felt that I knew exactly how it would be at each stage.
I felt like I was on holiday, met interesting people and came back with the best Christmas present, a new pain free hip!

I just arrived back home after 9 day in Kaunas under the incredible care or Nordorthopaedics. Total Left Hip Replacement. The care and attention to detail is truly 10/10 . You will not be disappointed with this clinic . Every detail from the transfers to and from airport and hotel, to the front desk team, nurses,anaesthetist,surgeon, physio all were amazing

The Nordothopaedics Clinic is amazing to deal with from start to finish, The staff are very professional and friendly to deal with, I dealt with both Neringa and Leva and they could not be anymore helpful, they planned my trip very well giving a clear understanding of the procedure, The logistics manager was very helpful and friendly, they pick up times were on time all the time and kept me updated of collections for the next day so I could plan out of schedule which was very helpful, I would go back tomorrow if I needed another procedure I wouldn’t hesitate, The surgeon was very kind and professional to deal with, They are simply the best,

It was efficient, friendly, helpful and professional from start to finish. My whole experience at Nordorthopaedics was seamlessly professional from start to finish, in an impeccably clean clinic. Everybody, from the surgeon and medical team, the physio team, the administration team and the drivers were just lovely, helpful and supportive throughout. I chose to have extended physio over nine days, which I feel has definitely enhanced my recovery. It was also fun and positive to share those sessions with so many other patients recovering from hip/knee replacements.

After meeting someone at a family party who was overwhelmingly positive about her hip replacement and rehabilitation at Nord Orthopaedics, I began my own research. Consulting Trustpilot, Nord's Facebook group, and website consistently revealed reassuring feedback, which gave me the confidence to book my surgery for November 2025.

As a first-time surgery patient, I was deeply impressed by the flawless efficiency and care at every stage. My customer service representative answered all my questions promptly. Upon arriving in Lithuania, I was seamlessly looked after from airport arrival to departure.

The clinic itself is immaculate. The nurses were both attentive and kind, and my surgeon instilled complete confidence. The quality of the post-operative rehabilitation program, which was a major reason I chose Nord, lived up to every expectation.

I cannot recommend Nord Orthopaedics highly enough. For anyone considering orthopaedic surgery abroad, this is the benchmark for quality and patient care.

From start to finish the clinic was so professional and well run , the place is lovely and clean .the pick up and collection service is on time every time , the hotels they recommended are really good and modern .Kaunas is a beautiful place to stay and I would not hesitate to go back there in future if the need arises. I went to Nordorthopeadics Clinic for ACL and Meniscus surgery. The price was far cheaper than the same treatment here in Ireland. I was apprehensive at first but the reviews of the place were very promising. From being picked up at the airport, picked up by taxi to my hotel and to and from the clinic, to the surgery and rehab itself, the whole process was effortless and Nord really took the stress out of the whole process. Currently 5 weeks post surgery and recovering well, I could not recommend Nord enough.

Just returned a week ago from the clinic following 2nd THR. The experience although different was amazing!!! What a truly kind , caring and professional team. I am a retired nurse of 30+ years of experience and I am amazed at the efficiency of the whole organisation. This is so reassuring when we are used to the sadly at times haphazard systems of the NHS. I had an unexpected problem following the anaesthetic and the nurses dealt with it promptly and with kindness. Ruta my customer services coordinator as before was fabulous and the last but not least mention has to Laimonas and his fabulous team who remind you that you are not ill but have had surgery and encourage you to return quickly to full mobility. I walked in physio on day 3 post op with no crutches !!! I didn’t need any crutches to travel home a week after surgery. If you can afford the very reasonable fees BOOK YOUR FLIGHT you won’t regret it

My visit to Nord has gone really well. Everyone was so friendly and professional, with the whole process running like clockwork. The ward was clean and comfortable and even the food was good.
I will be returning in 2026 for the 2nd toe.

Service from booking to the surgery and the aftercare was flawless. Would definitely book again hopefully don't have to.
