An awful experience
An awful experience. My flight was cancelled mere hours before it was supposed to leave, and I was booked without any consulting for another flight on a day that did not suit me at all. Still waiting for a refund after 9 weeks and multiple requests for updates.
An appalling airline
An appalling airline. Cancelled my flight to Copenhagen at 446am before 10am take-off, giving no reason. Offered a ridiculous alternative flight via Latvia. Refused flight compensation. Customer service incredibly slow. Advise never to use this airline!!
Not when they used to be
I have used Norwegian a lot over the years. My work requires me to travel to Norway a lot. They are not the airline they used to be some years ago the air craft are dated and very tired. On my recent trip the flight was delayed and eventually cancelled from Stavanger no reason was given. There was no staff about. To top it I received a text message saying they couldn’t arrange a hotel via text absolutely no apology. They didn’t include a contact number or instructions on how to claim reimbursement.

Me and my families flight home from Rome got cancelled this summer, with under 10 hours notice and we received no help to find another flight home. So we had to buy new tickets with another airline, flying from another airport, and Norwegian is now refusing to reimburse us for the transport to the other airport, the cancelled flight and the obvious price difference between the cancelled flight tickets and the new tickets.
Not only that, they even refuse to give an explanation on which grounds they refuse to reimburse us the roughly 2200 €.

Really helpful personnel on the plane when I forgot my bag in the waiting area on the airport, they fetched it for me.
Disappointed — Service Was Advertised but Not Honored
My flight was delayed, and this company’s service was advertised as an option we could use in that situation. However, the service was never handled or provided at all. I didn’t get the money back. It’s very disappointing, and I feel it’s misleading to continue advertising something that isn’t actually being delivered. I hope they take this seriously and improve the accuracy of their communication.

Received +5 mails (spam) re one way flight, neither of them having option to check-in. Homepage like a maze trying to find check-in. Eventually found out Norwegian online checkin was not available at departing airport. Below even Ryanair standards in terms of useability - plain dumb

Norwegian = great service
For many years, I have been flying with Norwegian to my full satisfaction. Booking flights is easy, prices are very competitive, and the service from both airport and cabin staff is always friendly and excellent.
Recently, I was scheduled to fly with Norwegian again. Unfortunately, the flight had to be canceled by the pilot due to a technical issue. Of course, that’s disappointing, but safety must always come first. Norwegian offered me an alternative flight, but unfortunately, it didn’t fit my travel plans.
Once again, Norwegian proved its high level of service: after I submitted a refund request through their website, the full amount was reimbursed within half an hour(!).
Kudos to Norwegian for such a prompt and customer-friendly response!

Not a chance to check in by drop off/ selfservice - check in was first opened 2 hours before take off. I will not recommend flights out of BCN with Norwegian or any other low fare company - we had bought lounge airside for € 99 because of the many hours we had to spend in the airport - and we didn’t get to use it. I really thought that self service or at least drop off was mainstream in big airports - but Norwegian and BCN still lives in the dark ages. Flight delayed 50 minutes on top of it all.

The flight was delayed by one hour. The attempt to order food failed: out of four hot meals offered, only one was available. I ordered it — it was awful, just a hot mush of dough and tomato paste. The cabin crew was terrible — more like guards than flight attendants. To Norwegian Air Shuttle: we are customers, not prisoners. Please treat us with respect. Overall rating: the lowest possible.

Norwegian has become the expensive version of dreadful Ryanair.
This one time good airline company has become the Norwegian expensive version of Ryanair. Old and out of date Boeing 737's with worn out seats. Some of the cabin personnel are good, but some of them are quite ignorant.
If you are traveling from an airport without check-in automates avoid Norwegian, unless you want to spend 2 hours in a line worrying about reaching your flight. Their check-in personnel are completely incompetent.
You might consider Ryanair before choosing Norwegian. Ryanair are cheap with shabby service. Norwegian are expensive with not so much better service. Or choose Easyjet. They outclass Norwegian in all areas.

I fly low-cost all the time with Wizz/Easyjet/Ryanair, other than a maximum delay of an hour or so I’ve never had any issues; this is until I decided to book a flight from London to Bergen with Norwegian, I booked all my trips etc and have had to take a massive hit on because Nortweigen have delayed my flight by over 13 hours out of nowhere!
They have no regard for customers and other than a chatbot, no customer services, please just avoid as it will take it out of you emotionally.

The most humiliating experience I've ever had on a flight – DY1551 (Budapest to Oslo, 14 Sep)
I have never felt so humiliated and disrespected by an airline in my entire life.
On 14 September 2025, I flew on Norwegian flight DY1551 from Budapest to Oslo. After a few days of hard work, I treated myself to a short holiday with my friends, expecting to return home with good memories.
Everything was fine until I boarded the plane.
When I found my seat, a crew member kindly helped me find space for my cabin bag, which ended up being about 10 rows away from my seat. I appreciated this effort and had no problem with the distance.
However, when I pushed my 10kg suitcase to that area, I realized how heavy it felt for me. I am a small woman under 150 cm tall, and lifting the bag over my head was extremely difficult.
A flight attendant was standing literally one step away from me. I politely asked her for a little help, hoping she could at least assist or guide me.
Her response shocked me to the core. She looked directly at me and said loudly, in a very cold and dismissive tone, for everyone around to hear:
“No! It’s your luggage, you must do it yourself. Nobody has time to help you.”
I was stunned and deeply humiliated. Dozens of passengers were watching as I struggled, my face burning with embarrassment.
Even if she was not allowed to physically assist me (due to safety rules, which I understand), there was absolutely no excuse for such rude and degrading words. She could have explained politely or shown basic empathy — but instead, she chose to treat me with complete disrespect.
Later, I also witnessed her speaking to another passenger in the same harsh, unprofessional way, answering a question with just a single, rude word: “Hva?”
This behavior is absolutely unacceptable for anyone working in a customer service role, let alone representing a well-known airline like Norwegian.
What makes this experience even worse is Norwegian’s customer service response.
I submitted a complaint, clearly explaining that my issue was with the attendant’s behavior, not the act of lifting luggage.
Instead of acknowledging the disrespect, Norwegian completely ignored this point and sent me a generic response about baggage rules — as if they didn’t even read my complaint.
I no longer feel safe or respected flying with Norwegian.
If this is how they treat customers and handle complaints, I strongly advise others to think twice before booking with them.
Norwegian, if you care at all about your reputation, please train your staff to treat passengers with basic human decency.

Booked a flight on July 10th which without any reason was just cancelled few hours before take off was supposed to be. i booke a flight, since a family member had a stroke and I needed to come back hole to help. But instead I had to wait until next day to get a new flight. Which meant I had to get a hotel, grab food and so on.
Which by law I'm entitled to get a refund on. Made a claim and now over 3 months later and after contacting costumer support on multiple occasions. I have still not heard anything from them nor have I received any reimbursement yet this long after. Travel with Norwegian at your own risk, and hope nothing happens, because you will not get what you rightfully should.
Al though it might be a low budget airline company, it could end up costing you way more in the end!
