I was a Nuskin distributer

I was a Nuskin distributer, and from my experience, many of the distributors do not give honest reviews. There is a lot of focus on ‘pretending’ to earn a high income from Nuskin and living the dream. Those who shout the loudest on facebook are the worse. I have noticed that some of the more ‘positive’ reviews on here are likely to be fake. Especially those using the statement – ‘changed my life’! This has been copied and reposted several times. I am guessing they have been put in because they don’t like the high number of more honest negative reviews.

I love the products

I love the products, it’s nice to work with a brand whose products follow such a strict process to make sure they do what they say they will.

The business model isn’t for everyone and I wish not just anyone could join. Other than that though it’s AMAZING!

Brainwashing cult experience

I agree with many of the comments I have seen here. I joined NuSkin a few years back and quickly realised the amount of misleading information the distributors use to advertise the products and themselves. We are all made to believe we are 'entrepreneurs' or 'business partners' of the company. I'm not sure if anyone has really looked up what these words truly mean. In a nutshell, you are a sales representative who works on a commission-only basis from the number of products you or your down line sell. There is some training, but it is mostly down to you on how you sell yourself!

For example, one of my 'business partners' fiancée has a highly paid ‘office’ job and pays for her lifestyle and holidays, but she uses this to advertise the 'rags to riches lifestyle NuSkin has ‘given’ her, enticing other unsuspecting people, (mostly women struggling financially with families) to join under her.

Negative comments are not allowed, even if you have concerns!! Any negative comments I have heard are against misleading information distributors have given and poor customer service. They will send out patronising comments on social media like ‘they don’t understand” – “its not their time yet” – “banish the negativity’ – with the constant need to justify their actions and telling you how you should live your life. Refusing to listen to both bad and good feedback, which is an important part for any business.

I did this too and I’m not proud of it. You are brought in very subtly, thinking you are going into a genuine honest business, and before you know it, you’re sucked and doing the same thing as everyone else. I can’t vouch for other MLM companies, but my experience with Nuskin and completely put me off all MLM’s.

I am all for women having their own businesses and being able to provide an income for themselves and family, but the way NuSkin distributors sell and advertise the products and themselves needs to be more controlled and accurate. At least 95% of positive reviews from other NuSkin distributors rather than from independent, honest reviews. Everyone is encouraged to promote the perfect lifestyle which they barely lead themselves!!

The distributors run in a ‘happy-clappy – love bombing – brainwashing – banish negativity and haters’, do as I say, cult-like groups. And a ‘hater’ can be someone who is simply questioning the authenticity of a distributers post, comment, lifestyle or marketing – they don’t like it at all. The more I see the more eye-opening it gets. A degree of positivity is always great, but this is on another level and VERY false, especially on Facebook. And yet the way they speak about each other behind the scenes is on a completely different level. NuSkin seem to turn a blind eye to it all.

They harp on and on about supporting local businesses but yet they seem to have forgotten they are working and supporting a big American corporation based in Utah encouraging import/exportation. They also say that no other business will give them the support and awards (like exotic holidays)… But the reality of this is that most ‘other’ businesses are not allowed to promote, give or receive bribery of this type and have been banned for many years in certain types of corporations and industries.

BBC did some investigation into these MLM companies back in 2019, and it included Nuskin. Another proper investigation should be done, and I'm sure it would be very eye-opening and highlight much of the underhanded bullying and brainwashing techniques distributers run and advertise themselves. It is almost impossible to make a good living out of Nuskin. A lot of time and effort is needed for very little return and the cult-like system can and does destroys families, friendships, finances and mental well-being – I have seen this through my own eyes, and still trying to make amends with my family. Most other companies would not get away with this. Those who do make a decent living out of this, are a tiny-weeny percent of distributers around the whole world. 85% of distributors EARN NO COMMISION or very tiny amount. I worked out my current ‘employed’ wage is about the equivalent (before TAX is taken) of Ruby-Emerald monthly position. You can argue that my holidays are paid, I have sick pay, National insurance and pension. Very very, few Nuskin distributers can reach and stay at that level and don’t receive those extras!

If you are thinking about joining Nuskin I seriously encourage you to do your research first – I mean from independent reviews, not Facebook reviews from those selling NuSkin products and promising you the perfect job or lifestyle – Again this is technically not allowed on Facebook but they will still do it!! Or better still, start your own REAL business. I promise you it will be much more rewarding!

Incredible Customer Service.

Had an issue with my Lumispa, sent all the information over email including a video of the fault, got an immediate replacement, no questions asked, delivered NEXT DAY. Incredible customer service, really polite and prompt solutions.

Not worth the value!

I spent well over $1k on a single order to buy NuSkin devices and products in 2021. The LumiSpa device went faulty right after the warranty lapsed. I contacted the company but they refused to help. All their products are really expensive and not really worth their value given the lifespan of the devices.

Bought a LumiSpa in 2021

Bought a LumiSpa in 2021, went faulty right after the warranty lapsed. Contacted them but they refused to even look at it even though I was willing to pay for a repair. Seems like the product is not serviceable at all and very expensive for the lifespan of use I got out of it. Was never dropped or misused, I look after my stuff as I work hard for my money. Very disappointing and I would not recommend it at all. Considering buying a knockoff from Temu as I can buy 8 for the price of one LumiSpa.

My charger broke, they fixed it!

My charger broke, but it was the old version of the lumispa. They made sure I got a new one even though they didn't have it in stock anymore. It took a bit longer because of that, but they only let me pay for the shipping costs. I think this is really great service.

Absolutely awful company

Absolutely awful company. STAY WELL AWAY. First off the whole company is a dodgy pyramid scheme. But the products themselves are vastly overpriced. I paid over £200 for a simply skin care device which should cost a mere fraction of a its price. And even then "Nuskin seller" claimed it was at a discounted price. The device couldn't even be purchased alone and instead had to be bundled with more overpriced skincare products, further ripping me off.

The Lumispa device did nothing for my skin and only made it worse, it even managed to cut open my acne despite using the device correctly. Apart from that, the device seems to make no difference to cleansing with my hands. I purchased this product out of pure desperation for my skin issues but now I feel like slapping myself for being so stupid. If you look at FB marketplace you will see this same device selling anywhere from 1/4th of the original price to even 1/10th of the price, and even then it likely isn't selling

A pyramid scheme that kills with…

A pyramid scheme that kills with kindness.

I have sat back and watched friends losing precious time with their families because of this poaching company that is making millions friends the innocents!

They use pleasure promises (holidays abroad which YOU pay for) and rope people in to be true positive friends with each other for life. Then they each use ‘peer pressure and love bombing’ to keep each other in this pretend MLM scheme. Then if they decide to try and move away from the company these new friends drag them right back in. A clever little love bombing cult.

I love my friends, but I know that if I said a single word about how they are being completely fooled by this company, then I would lose them.

I wonder if they test their products on animals? And why are my friends covered in spots and I am not. I don’t use any beauty products except drink water and wash with normal soap and water. I do not have a single spot or blemish!

So, there you have it, my friend please be careful.

Pyramid scheme of note

2020 Was they year of pyramid schemes, this is one of them , you will not be a able to start earning commissions if you are an honest person. You have to lie and say that these products work. Also the before and after photos of the teeth are definitely photoshopped. They will flood your facebook feed for positive comments and use the algorithm for false advertising and get the attention of your friends. Once you start selling that toothpaste to your friends, be prepared for backlash, once they realize that it doesnt work, and have cash ready to reimburse them or run the risk of ruining that relationship.
