I had a great experience with Obie, I needed insurance for an investment property in a fire zone, even though it’s not anywhere close to one. I was able to get insurance the same day and reasonable price.

It's easy to select the coverage you need online. Once you have it though, it's SO hard to get anyone to reply to your emails and change anything. It took my lender 3-4 emails to get some information changed. Our closing date was pushed back and I emailed 3 times to get the effective date changed. No one ever emailed me back.

When you buy online need to know what the deductible is

You beat all prices that I checked on for insurance on our house! We appreciate this so much during these times today with prices rising on everything; but you helped us! I just hope in the future the economy will be better and maybe we will even get a great price! Thank you!

I talked with at least five Obie reps after receiving a last minute email notice that an extra $20 charge had been added to my new Obie policy altho I had received an initial confirmation of payment in full pending when I purchased the policy earlier in June. Navigating the Obie phone system was a major challenge - the music playing when I was put on hold many times was a country western knockoff with the singer complaining about being on hold. No one I talked with could identify what had gone wrong with my payment or how to fix it. I wound up having my financial institution research Obie to confirm that a attempt had been made to bill my account bc I was starting to think that the whole issue was an insurance scam. One of the five Obie reps made an effort to help, and I appreciated her explanations of Obie's system. It turns out that unlike other online payment systems, the relatively new Obie online ACH payment system only checks the financial institution's routing number - NOT the customer's account number so the initial confirmation I had received with payment pending status in the fine print was totally misleading. Obie refused to waive the $20 charge.

Rep who assisted me, Michael Martina, was efficient and knowledgeable, really appreciated his help. The delay appears to be after I accepted the quote and when the email to finalize is sent. I still have not received the finalize email since 3 days ago.

I collected quotes from four insurance companies. Agent Jimmy Clancy was the most personable and patient with me. His follow-up by phone, email and text was prompt. The coverage was good and up to half the cost of other companies. Obie had the best price of all the options!
