Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 228 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, describing it as unprofessional, unhelpful, and often non-existent, making it nearly impossible to speak with a real person. People also found the website difficult to use, with issues like unclear pricing information, problems with booking, and a generally poor user experience. The pricing was a major point of contention, with many feeling that tickets and snacks were outrageously expensive, and that advertised prices often differed from the actual cost. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with the staff, describing them as polite, professional, and helpful, and some even received excellent service that turned a negative situation into a positive one. Some customers also noted that the cinema itself was lovely, offering a cozy and enjoyable experience, especially when not crowded.

Guy on the desk failed to scan my booking code. So I receive an email stating that I've failed to attend a booking and they are considering suspending my Limitless membership. Email "Guest Services" which was a complete waste of time as Kelsey refused to amend my record and appeared completely disinterested.

High priced and broken

Stepping over the high priced snacks and broken fittings in the toilet, they had a problem with the sound system broken and distorting. If you don't complain and leave in the first 30 minutes, there is no refund. Central customer services aren't interested in taking your complaint, contacting the cinema management at Swiss Cottage and clarifying the issue. I went to see the opera being broadcast live and it's quite expensive so you don't want to leave in the first 30 minutes and hunt for a member of staff to complain to and then leave the cinema because it's a one off performance. Certainly the corporate caring is non-existent so this customer will just vote with the feet and find another cinema. It's a shame, but that's their system.

Totally shocking from a cinema that thinks £16 for a cinema ticket is right. Tried to book online, three times I got the 'something went wrong' message, three times I got charged, tried to call them, no longer have a place you can call, try to contact them via online chat, but they only have this from 10.15am to 4.45pm. Totally ruined a Saturday night out for my partner and I.

My only experience was wasted time and frustration

I don't think Odeon wants me to visit their cinema. My previous password now doesn't work, so I tried signing up again on 2 different browsers with a new, carefully created, password. No joy. Try contacting them? Forget it. Just a wild goose chase and no one to speak to.
From now on, I'm simply going to pretend that, as an entity, Odeon doesn't exist. So I'll only bother with other cinema companies. And if it is not on there, then I won't bother.
There really are plenty of other things to do!
Odeon are time bandits!

Exploitative ticket pricing

Online booking would not work despite repeated tries. Cost extra £4.50 to buy same tickets on foyer machine. Online system claims it includes £3 online booking fee, so presumably it means foyer machines charged £7.50 for buying ticket there. Adjusted budget by buying less of the overpriced snacks. Won't bother going again, £42.47 for 2 adults and a child at a lunchtime showing. No issues with the staff who were professional, but obviously have no control over pricing issues or reliability of online system.

POOR SOUND for live concert film in Preston

I went to see Dave Gilmour concert at the Odeon in Preston last night. Enjoyment was marred by low volume of the music. No atmosphere and sound quality at the venue - so poor for such an event. At £15 a ticket you'd expect an amazing sound and vision for a concert as great as this. And once again, NO LOO ROLL! I did'nt bother with icecream and coffee etc after my poor experience last time I visited. Won't be going again.

Let’s cancel late notice

Booked tickets 2 weeks prior for an 11am showing on Sunday 14th September, only to receive an email at 8:20pm on Saturday 13th telling me the performance has been cancelled. No explanation, just a note saying the refund has been processed so I don’t need to do anything. A great day out with lunch all planned, and now ruined thanks to Odeon Stafford.

Customer service poor

I've tried to resolve this for months same negative responce .
I purchased i max tickets at a cost of £23 as the trailers started people from the cheap seats came and sat in the exspensive seats i informed the staff with seat numbers they did nothing.
I contacted customer service who said tough and said I should read T&Cs
Do not buy exspensive tickets just sit where you want .
It's by far the worst customer service and the film was rubbish

Sent a complaint and had no response

STILL NO RESPONSE ITS now march 2026
Sent a complaint and had no response. Then had a email to ask me how customer service did. I wasn't even responded to. Bottom of the screen is cut off when you recline in the "better" seats. Film was so low that you could hear everyone. I had to leave my seat and sit right at the front as people was constantly getting up and down and talking all over. Why is there no staff anymore to monitor the rooms. Anything could happen and no one would know. Totally spoilt a rare night out for me. Won't be renewing my membership this year. Constant issues. From mice for months to poor seats that you can't recline as the wall Infront covers the bottom of the screen. Sound is to low it's boiling hot at the back of seats of the cinema and freezing at the front. Will be going to Vue cinema from now on

Not odeON…it is odOFF

I am a limitless plus member of Odeon for nearly 1 year now. All most all times that I have visited Odeon, more than half of their seats are empty. I can't remember a time seeing even new movies full house. Still they ban your online booking rights if miss shows. Totally unhelpful company. Too much hype. It is no way near luxury. I have actively discouraged friends and family from going there. It not odeOn, it is odeOFF.

I usually visit a different cinema…

I usually visit a different cinema because I can get discounted tickets through work but on this occasion showing times weren't ideal so we decided to book with Odeon. I bought the two discounted voucher codes to use only to find that Odeon add a booking fee after you've added the voucher codes (so no way to decline to continue the transaction) for every seat you choose. This meant that with the booking fee added, there was actually no saving to be made from buying through my work - which is the point - it's part of the benefits package. Choosing the 'better' seats in the cinema resulted in an additional £3 per seat booking fee! I will not be going to Odeon again but stick to the two cinemas who do honour the discount vouchers. Also, as others have said, the website is deliberately opaque about pricing and clunky at best. Be warned!

Odeon Wimbledon

Ladies toilets are disgusting, reported to staff running tape
Over flowing bins
Paid extra
For Lux chairs don’t seem any different to the seats behind.

Odeon has a truly awful website

Odeon has a truly awful website.
As soon as I click on their weblink it refuses to connect & this message from CLOUDFLARE comes up

“Sorry, you have been blocked
You are unable to access odeon.co.uk”

Why have I been blocked?
This website is using a security service to protect itself from online attacks. The action you just performed triggered the security solution. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data.

So clicking on their website to buy tickets is now an online attack? Hilarious 😆
Guess I will be using the Cineworld from now on.

Utterly embarrassing website

Utterly embarrassing website, I just tried booking seats for the Fantastic Four movie that came out recently to go watch with a friend of mine but the payment got frozen on the website for some reason and the payment was taking ages and ages to go through and never did. So I tried to restart my order again but because the seats I tried booking previously are kept in reservation since the payment hadn't gone through for the last order, meaning I couldn't rebook with the same seats we wanted even after waiting an hour to see if they become free again. So not only did my order not go through and I can no longer get the seats I want, I can't even get back the £34 I just spent until probably a week later since I can't cancel pending transactions when we were planning to go watch the movie tomorrow!
