Why am I being spammed in German for this unsolicited trash?

What has happened to this site? It used to be my go to dating app. I’ve met friends and partners on there over the years. Now I tried rejoining after some time away, and okc keeps randomly deleting sections of my profile, but won’t say why or what to do to get the sections back. I guessed maybe it was that we’re not allowed to link to Instagram, so I made sure not to have any links in there. But today I refilled one of the sections they had removed, and what I wrote was that I’m looking for a committed relationship with an emotionally mature guy who wants to be a full partner in care of the home, that I’m feminist and do my best to be antiracist. I didn’t think there was anything inappropriate in there, but got a message half an hour later saying that this entire section had been deleted for having ‘sexually explicit content.’ I’m not sure if maybe they’re flagging people for writing the word ‘antiracist,’ or ‘feminist’? But I can’t figure out what else might have gotten the text flagged. Anyone else having this type of problem. My profile
is getting eaten away one content ban at a time, making a more and more boring run of the mill profile, till there’s not much left of the profile

Is this? Anyone else finding the same kind of problems on there? I’ve tried just leaving it but I have met good people on there in the past and did used to like the app.

I am so disappointed by OkCupid. My niece did open an account december 2024.And After 2 days her account was blocked, apparently she has an in contact with a scammer. I am so sad because it was me who paid for her profile to be active and suddenly they blocked her. To make the matters worse, OkCUPID has deducted money again from my bank account this month january 2025 without my permission. It's me to decide if i could keep on paying or not. On the contrary, how can I pay for the account which is not function at all...????

I gave OKCupid a try because of its reputation. I paid for a "premium" subscription.

I set the matches filter to those within 100mi. of me and specifically excluded "black" ethnicity. (My main motivation for that was to exclude those who actually live in Africa as opposed to Europe but lie about their location.) Crucially, I also set both criteria as "dealbreakers."

Imagine, then, my surprise when I wake up the next morning, see 34 "likes," and realize that 80% of them are from Kenya and Uganda (all of whom state their ethnicity as "black") and the rest from Indonesia, Philippines, and the like! I deleted them all. The next day, same thing.

I contacted customer "service" who replied with a copy-and-paste job advising me to set the match filters to my preferred choices and check the "dealbreaker" boxes. Gee, why didn't I think of that! Thanks a lot!

The smattering of matches who actually are located in my vicinity were women who can't sustain a conversation (and these are women 35+) or are juggling probably three dozen guys, but I can't blame OKcupid for that. Sad times we live in...

Banned for no reason after just setting up profile and being ignored by "customer service". What's the point in this site if real people are getting banned without any explanation?!

I paid USD 39.99 for a monthly premium subscription on OKCupid and within less than 24 hours, my account was deactivated without any prior communication or warning about any violations. OKCupid provided no specific details regarding the reason for the ban, only a vague reference to violating their Terms and Conditions OR Community Guidelines (which is it I wondered?). This lack of transparency raises serious concerns about their business practices.

I reached out to OKCupid twice to seek clarification and assistance regarding my account deactivation, but received no response whatsoever. It was only after I raised a dispute with my credit card provider that OKCupid finally replied. This highlights a clear failure in their customer support and shows that they only act when forced to by external parties, rather than addressing issues in a timely and professional manner.

Furthermore, because my account was banned, I was unable to disable the auto-renewal feature for my subscription, preventing me from managing my account or stopping further charges. This lack of access to essential account features further demonstrates the inadequate service and poor business practices of OKCupid.

Recommendations: If you find yourself in a similar situation, I strongly recommend disputing the transaction directly with your credit card or banking provider. OKCupid’s failure to respond to my inquiries until a dispute was raised is indicative of their poor customer service and lack of accountability.

Additionally, as per the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, you are entitled to a refund for services not provided. This Act ensures that services must be delivered with reasonable care and skill. OKCupid’s failure to deliver the service I paid for, their refusal to give any clear reasons behind their ban, combined with their lack of transparency and poor customer support, constitutes a violation of consumer rights.

OKCupid’s business practices are substandard, and I advise caution to anyone considering their services. Their failure to deliver on paid services, coupled with a complete lack of meaningful communication, highlights a troubling pattern of negligence and disregard for customer rights.

Don't waste your time with this shoddy site, it took my credit card provider 5 days to reverse the transaction and block OkCupid from any future auto-renewal charges.

Upon asking Google for the best legit dating websites was informed ok cupid is the way to go also that it is free to speak to women etc only to sign up which is the only thing that is free then took half hour probably more answering questions that are irrelevant got past all there politics and before putting up any pictures had recieved multiple likes 🤔 so naturally you'd want to inquire as to who could possibly be so desperate only to be informed i have to pay in order to see who the likes were from then in order for your profile to be seen upto 5times more than usual a fee for a boost is required then a further charge is required to message potential dates then not forgetting they also have the superboost which needless to say costs more than the boost feature along with the expensive premium so called deals to call it extortion would be a groce misunderstatement this is where the plot thickens while filling in your prefences I.e man seeking for woman between specific age body type ethnicity area etc i allowed them to use my precise location clearly stating within a 10mile radius while filling in the quote on quote prefences after the lengthy and tedious process off i go hunting whilst I'm scrolling through recommend matches came across a transgender which was somewhat daunting as it clearly ain't a woman regardless of how it looked and i clearly stated iam 6 oclock with my sexuality so I'm looking at it as we were matched so proceed to read it's story and there it was out of it's mouth transgender on here solely looking for sex i dropped my phone and cracked the screen this is no word of lie it was traumatic because looking at it's pictures you wouldn't believe it even if it presented you with its birth certificate as I'm new to the online dating scene was and am still in shock try to put it behind me live and let live so continued scrolling looking at recommend matches then i was matched with a dude a jacked shrek looking real man i quickly scrolled again saying to myself they must have made a mistake i go back and check my profile info it's all good get back to hunting only to be matched with another dude I'm like hell no logged out and asked Google again is ok cupid a legit dating website which ultimately brought me here to trust pilot and the reviews leading compelling me to reveal my experience my only consultation is that i never purchased anything after seeing that transgender then upon be matched with not 1 not 2 but 3 dudes alarm bells were going off like crazy that's when i logged out to make inquiries as i viewed despite them trying to force me into liking them send them a super like this that and the 3rd then mid scroll came up on my screen I'm out of likes for today and in order for me to like any other woman regardless of me not liking 1 single solitary profile i have to purchase some feature that'll allow me to like whoever till the cows come home I'm like i need to get up out off here immediately and for Google to sing them praises in 1 instance then throw them under the bus in the next instance is forgazy absolutely crazy so whomever is reading this trust me regardless of what Google says obviously it can't be trusted always check reviews prior to joining subscribing to any dating website imagine i was told years ago Google can't be trusted more than so,use alternative search engines duck duck go is one also brave browser is another one that is highly recommended as the latter is a ad blocker all you do is install it as your default browser and it will automatically do the rest in terms of ad blocking for those who didn't know will thank me later as of now iam about to delete my ok cupid profile 💯✌🏽🙏🏽

The app has problems and is not working atm .. I paid a subscription also and I’ve just tried to get it working but nothing is happening .. it’s a waste of time anyway .. I think they put in fake profiles and like you just to keep you interested

Signed up. Verified. Used for one day. Paid to see messages etc, as soon as I paid they banned me. All my photos were of me, non revealing. There was nothing controversial in my text and I didn't get chance to contact anyone. They refused to tell me why I had been banned and refused a refund. Effectively they allowed me to sign up and stole my money?! Customer service refuses to engage won't explain and say matter is closed, they will not respond to further contact. Avoid, they are scammers/thieves, please do not waste your money and get stung like I have.

i got banned and not sure why, they wouldn't tell me, they wouldn't delete my account, they were rude and i was left with no answers. they said they wouldn't respond to any other query i had even though they didn't answer the query in the first place. so awful

As many others have had many negative experiences. However, my complaint is mainly relating to their data protection regulations.

I have requested history of messages and OKC have stated that they won't disclose them due to GDPR, which is in itself a breach of GDPR. After a week and back and forth with customer support here I am.

Girls are thousands of miles away none of them respond either too picky or racist. No new profiles either have to.pay to even look at the profile literally you can't do shit with standard. Go somewhere else people this app I'd a garbage hole

Has become an absolute shit show. No more unlimited likes, and you can't view intro's anymore unless you pay up. Never using this website ever again.

The only reason I gave it a three is because when I contacted them that I was not happy with the site and wanted a refund they gave me one. Most of the dating sites refuse to refund your money but this one didn’t give me any hassle about it and I respect them for doing so. It’s the one good thing about the site. Otherwise, I found awful matches and no one I would consider dating! It’s not what it was years ago when I first tried it. It’s very discouraging and hard to find a decent quality dating site. The other ones like Eharmony and Elite singles that claim to have more serious members have very few members to chose from and are mostly from far away despite putting a 100 mile range. I gave up! Probably would do better at a gas station or grocery store! But at least with ok Cupid I didn’t feel taken advantage of and ripped off!

I heard this site was bad, but I was surprised to find out how BAD it really is! I signed up for a 'Premium' account thinking that it would provide a decent opportunity to find someone compatible. However, what I got was comical. OKC gave me access to a very small number of profiles and after I reviewed them it told me that I had used up my allotment of profiles for the day and more would not be shown to me until the next day. What??

But that is not the worst of it. The profiles they did show me had no information about when the person was last signed on to OKC. So, I didn't know if I was messaging someone who was on the site yesterday or someone who had left the site 10 years ago!

Don't waste your time. OKC is an insult to the dating community.

OKStupid used to be a really great dating site but now it's full of women that say they're based locally but in actual fact are thousands of miles away in different countries and now, in an attempt to rescue itself, OKC are now posting hundreds of fake profiles with beautiful women to try and claw back users and bag more cash by offering 50% off!! To my mind that's a scam... Such a shame.

This is the worst dating app I have encountered. I wouldn't recommend buying a membership, you can never get on it. The app doesn't load properly, especially in the daytime. The only time I was sucessful was late at night.

I've been on it only a few days now. £40 or so for a month and I've got no matches slim to average average within 100 miles. Extend to 250 miles to get London and you may just get a few. I keep receiving likes from the Philippines, Indonesia, America and Brazil. I don't think anyone in the UK uses this app. S.ite!
