They canceled my flights without my authorization. I suspect their mobile apps have bugs. They said the cancellation was done through my mobile app. Could be their system is being compromised. They refused to listen to my explanation and closed my case.

Hi, I just want to say that Orbitz is a horrible scam. I paid nearly $1,200 for an all-inclusive package. When I arrived at the hotel, they only booked the hotel, but not the meals. I am absolutely sure that the mistake was caused by the chat because I had chatted with them about something unrelated to canceling the all-inclusive package.
They still haven’t refunded the money, and I also discovered through the hotel that Orbitz works with Booking and Expedia. In other words, when you use Orbitz, they are not direct, and that’s why there is so much confusion.
If you’re planning a trip, go directly through Booking or Expedia. They work directly with the businesses.
Things are fine until they aren't.
Things are fine with Orbitz until they aren't. Having to make changes or cancel reservations within the app is more cumbersome and you have less latitude when dealing with hotels through Orbitz than if you booked directly with the property. With the quality of websites maintained by most hotel chains using a service like Orbitz just doesn't make since.

I rented a car from Fox through Orbitz. The booking was for $223. After I returned the car, I was charged $405 extra(no damages or or penalties).",After contacting Orbitz customer support,they said i need to call car rental company.I will never, ever book anything on Orbitz ever again because they work with vendors who defraud their customers, and do not protect their customers from abuse.

I recently booked a long-haul flight with Orbitz for myself and my 13-year-old daughter, assuming Orbitz would provide reliable service. Unfortunately, our experience has been anything but. Despite confirming identical itineraries with Qantas and receiving printed confirmations from Orbitz's website, I was denied boarding because the airline’s records showed a different routing for me than what I had received from Orbitz. When I reached out to Orbitz, the support process became incredibly frustrating. Orbitz’s lack of accountability and inadequate support turned what should have been a simple booking into a stressful, costly experience. I would advise anyone considering Orbitz to be cautious, especially for complex or multi-segment travel. Their customer service team has not provided any reliable solutions, and the financial impact of this experience has been significant.

I had to give 1 star to continue, should be zero stars. I booked a flight with orbitz to Sarasota FL for October 2024. When I got my credit card statement I was charged by Orbitz and Suncountry for the same flight. 800.00 x2. The flight was canceled due to hurricane damage to airport. Suncountry refunded my money within a week. I called Orbitz and questioned why they charged me as so did the airline. A hour later Orbitz really couldn’t answer that question. They requested a copy of my credit card statement showing both charges. Called few days later to check if email was received, was told no can’t find it. Told her I will hold till she does. So I’m on hold she checks in every 15 minutes or so and said still looking, another hour long phone call. She then asked if I took the flight I said irrelevant but no it was canceled due to hurricane damage. She stated she shows flight was not canceled, again irrelevant. I said was canceled and Suncountry refunded me. She said so you got you money back, why are you calling..WHAT???? I explained 800 to Orbitz and 800 to Suncountry =$1600.00 I got credit for 800. Again 1 hour into this call, and call was dropped. Called back tell my story for the 5th time! Another hour on the call. So after 5 phone calls and at least 5 hours on the phone, she said Orbitz will send a credit to my credit card, still waiting for that. I was told by Suncountry that they see this a lot. Also, if you book thru Orbitz they (Orbitz) charges for carryon, Suncountry does not, interesting. I am hoping customer service from Orbitz see’s this and reaches out to me cuz I have a story for them.
Never again
Never again! Booked a hotel with roaches, hair on sheets and pigeon feathers on the bathroom towels. Yellow stained pillows with one missing the pillow case. We couldn't even put our luggage down and in the room for 5 minutes. Orbitz refused a credit back.
iPad Orbitz website bad
The iPad Orbitz website is nearly unusable. Does anyone at Orbitz test its pages against a full range of possible customer inquiries?
Charged in USD without a proper notice.
I got tricked by their smallest one line statement of "prices quoted in US dollars". I never paid attention to that hidden line on any other website since they mention prices like USD400 or so.... not like these scammers who wrote $400 and one line warning at the end.
A ticket that was easily available for CAD500 on other website cost me CAD700 from Orbitz since they presented price like $450 and a small one time line that the $450 is USD.

These people pretended to be Royal Caribbean. If you Google Royal Caribbean it's really Orbitz number. I called to cancel my cruise due to Hurricane Milton, and they said it would be a $595 change fee. I didn't believe Royal Caribbean would be so heartless. I also knew it didn't sound right because my trip was insured. The real Royal Caribbean later sent me an email stating hope to see you soon. I knew then my dam cruise wasn't really cancelled and that these blood thirsty animals were frauds. I immediately locked my card and reported them to the authorities. Please stay away from these dumb crooks unless you love to give away your hard earned cash.
Worst experience with Orbitz and I would never recommend this to anyone
I made a reservation with itinerary 72911425152491. I got 2 bags with my reservation. My initial leg of reservation is with Alaska airlines, they rebooked me with United as the flight was delayed. United charged me $200 for the second bag. Now orbitz not helping me with refund of baggage fee I paid. I should get two bags without additional charge as per my reservation.

Sept 10’2024 I canceled my flight from Philadelphia to Lihue, HI scheduled flight on sept 12’2024 n speak with an agent and he told me I will get my money refund about 7-14 business days, again I called them on sept 24’2024 since I never get refund yet n the answer I will get refund to my account before September 30’2024. Finally today as October 1’2024 I called orbitz n finally the answer they only give me travel credit, really they just running away from responsibility to get my refund they supposed to be giving me money back (I cancelled before 24 hours) n they said the Alaska airlines only gave me travel credit, so what is the point I bought from orbitz if something happened I need to deal with Alaska. Absolutely just stay away from this company

I booked a flight with them and the reservation number is invalid and there is no possible way to get a person on the phone or email so I have lost all my money. This is the worst possible site - never, ever use them. There are no people working there just bots and articles.

I want to warn people about Orbitz…
I want to warn people about Orbitz overseas. I have used Orbitz almost exclusively for my travel needs (Last year I spent almost $15K with them) and I recently went to Ireland and rented two cars with a group. The cars were small and the 5 day fare was only $175 a car, which was great. Problem was that when I got to the SIXT check in desk, they told me that ORBITZ removed 100% of any coverage I had for the car and that if anything happened I was 100% responsible and could even go to jail. They then told me that I would need to pay $58/day to have coverage which with my two cars meant the rental rate went from $350 total (2 cars) to just over $1,000. BTW many insurance companies in the US do NOT cover you in places like Ireland, I would suppose because of scams like this. The thing is, if I had walked up to the window without a reservation (Which I did with Hertz immediately after this scam) you AUTOMATICALLY get coverage with a $2,500 deductible and no threat to go to jail. We rented two cars from Hertz on the same day, and paid a TOTAL of $41/day INCLUDING coverage. So Orbitz removed the coverages to make a few more dollars, and never told me about it (May have hid that in the small print) and lets the travelers deal with crappy companies like Sixt and their additional fees and insurance scams.
Just want people to know and be careful.

After several failed attempts, I ended up with **10 temporary charges on my card** and no confirmed reservation. Customer service's response was disappointing: they just told me to contact my bank and clear my browser's cache. While the agent was polite, they offered no useful solution. The most concerning part is that I was left wondering if I'll even be able to secure the booking before prices increase or seats sell out. **In short, a chaotic and extremely frustrating experience**, with no guarantee of resolution.

Car rental nightmare with orbitz. The ACE car never showed up at the airport and they didn’t even have a stand with someone to talk to and their phone # was disabled. Of course orbitz doesn’t have a contact number and their virtual agent is disabled and so is their email. I ended up renting from a different car company. I’m afraid I will never get a refund from these thieves. If I don’t get a hold of orbits, I will also submit a complaint to the attorney general of Washington State. Looks like this is common issue with orbitz.
I will never rent a car from Orbitz and Budget again
I rented a car from Budget through Orbitz. The booking was for $190. After I returned the car, I was charged $420. The invoice included the expected charge of around $190, plus a "Misc Charge" of $200. There was no explanation for what it was for, or any evidence of damaged car, flat tire or anything else - simply "Misc Charge". After contacting Orbitz customer support, they investigated this case and came back to me to say that Budget refuses to remove the charge and there is nothing they can do about it. I will never, ever book anything on Orbitz ever again because they work with vendors who defraud their customers, and do not protect their customers from abuse. Good bye Orbitz.
