Avoid them , really going downhill
First of all I would say that Orvis as a company has very much gone downhill , I placed an order online and it took weeks to arrive, I was emailed to ask why and didn’t receive a response, I called and the agent said she would get back to me and never did, I have bought other items before and the quality is just not there anymore with those.
I used to have a number of products from Orvis but I wouldn’t buy another again, I would say that the service from Orvis in the US was far better than Orvis UK so perhaps it is just the way Orvis UK is run.
Previously I had visited the flagship store where I was helped by Vito an Italian gentlemen who was excellent but I could tell he wasn’t happy there, given the way they have gone downhill he was probably treated badly which is a shame. I am sure he has now left the company which definitely isn’t a surprise, No doubt onto bigger and better things.
Dog Hammock
I ordered a 'hammock' to go on the rear seat of a car for a dog.
I think it is brilliant and it came pretty quickly.
I thought the side pieces might be a problem seeing how they fit to the window, but they are absolutely fine on a Discovery Sport.
Not particularly cheap, but good quality and definitely worth the money.
Thoroughly recommended.

For the life of me I cannot understand why it takes them so long to deliver items ordered online. Its been 4 weeks now and still not even dispatched yet

Service and beyond
I don't normally right reviews but in the case of orvis Edinburgh fiona the manager and the top man Lee Currie whose knowledge and expertise is second to none. The service I've received in the past year has been second to none no squabble guarantee on my Clearwater rod was replaced in 3 days.i also just a floating line replaced today free of charge, buy cheap buy twice, buy orvis you buy once with peace of mind carry on the fantastic service.
Beware the hidden charges
I ordered 2 shirts which were delivered within a week. Neither fitted, the length (body / sleeve) was good, but the rest is massive, I mean built for weighty people. Never mind I thought, they pride themselves on customer service I will return for a refund, less their £3.50 carriage charge. Ten days later I received a refund, less the £3.50 carriage and and additional £25.00 unexplained charge. So it cost £28.50 to try on 2 shirts. Buyer beware I guess.
Great customer service
I ordered a Kimbridge Chalkstream Net from Orvis UK and was initially frustrated as the first two nets I received were both damaged in transit by the couriers. I was not pleased to say the least. However, the Orvis customer care team came up trumps, replacing the broken net and refunding me the cost for my trouble. You really can't say fairer than that. If you have a problem, speak to the lovely people at Orvis and they will stand by their product 100%. Top marks Orvis.

Really love the products from Orvis. I have a puppy who chews and destroys everything but so far has been unable to destroy the dog bed I purchased from Orvis...really well made and delivery is quick.
Poor Service and Evasive
I ordered a sweatshirt for my wife a few days ago from the Orivs Website in the UK. After a couple of days I received an automated email saying that the delivery date was now 23 August 2018. I thought it was a mistake and queried it, but no - they do not have it in stock until the end of August. I cancelled it and told them in an email that the website should make clear that an item is out of stock - especially one with a lead time of 6 months. I then submitted a review on the Orvis website. However they then sent this response:
"Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time!"
There was nothing rude or wrong about the review - it was completely factually correct.
I have spent a lot of money with Orvis over the past ten years - at least £3000 of not more. We both have an account with them, but I find their pathetically poor service coupled with their not allowing the poor review the last straw. I would not recommend ordering anything from Orvis online.
The BEST customer service i have come across in years
I don't often leave reviews but felt I had to after the excellent customer service I just received from Orivs. I order my mum top for christmas which was a bit too big, so we sent it for an exchange... they had sold out of the same colour so refunded us. I just called them to order a different colour, hoping i could keep the disocunt i used on inital ordering, and the lovely lady i spoke to sorted the whole thing within minutes! Even made sure i wasn't out of pocket on any postage! A new top in the right size is on its way :) Top makrs Orvis, keep up the good work, it is so refreshing to speak to a "real" person, not an automated system, and such helpful nice people at that.
I ordered a jacket but smelt like a wet dog....
I ordered a jacket - it wasn't cheap but it looked great so I bit the bullet and bought one. It arrived quickly (2 working days) but when I opened it I was immediately aware of the damp musty smell. On closer inspection, both sleeves of the jacket had signs of mould on them. The jacket had, to my untrained eye, clearly been packed in to its plastic bag whilst it was damp - perhaps from the waterproofing treatment - and this had turned mouldy. I called Orvis immediately and they agreed a replacement would be sent. This one arrived another two or three days later and still smelt of damp mould but not as bad as the first one. The instructions on the garment say you should not wash it but I could not live with the smell and since it took ages to find this design online I decided to wash it and dry it properly. The smell has mostly gone now - mostly... The jacket is nicely made and Orvis customer service were OK to deal with. The second jacket was apparently taken out of its bag and inspected before being sent to me - I received a call from the person checking it to say its 'absolutely fine'. It wasn't - it still had an unpleasant smell - just not as bad as the first one. In the end I fixed the problem for myself but you should not expect to have to do that on an expensive jacket. Since ordering I get Orvis adverts popping up all the time online - which is OK, I like their clothing - but I will not be ordering from them again. For me, Orvis clothing is now associated to smelling like the wet dog that appears all over their website and I don't find that appealing at all. Disappointed - I wanted to like this brand.

Quality of products are good but slow delivery timescales is ridiculous and I have to pay for the privilege. I ordered an absorbent door mat on 2nd Sept and now 20th Sept and still not arrived!!. This is not the first time neither, I have been promised a refund for the delivery costs. Sort out your stocking levels!

Orvis - Excellent
I've ordered so many things from Orvis and the materials and quality are just excellent.
They can be a little slow on dispatch, but why do people moan so much if they don't get an order instantly, the products are worth the wait.
Sizing is USA, so a U.K. Xl will need a L in Orvis clothing, but once you have your sizing sorted the customer service is great.
Don't trust their sales...
I have ordered a few things from them in the past but their dispatch times are getting ludicrously slow and they have now taken to listing things for sale and then emailing a week later to say that the item is now out of stock but that you can buy it at full price if you still want it...
This seems hugely dishonest to me so i will be staying clear in the future.
One other word of warning - the sizing is ridiculous; I am L or XL in the UK (I have a 42' chest) but find an Orvis M to be about right so be warned...

Wow Orvis, great Customer Services - NOT
Excellent!
I ordered a Barbour jacket from Orvis. It arrived within the quoted time, well packaged and tracked via Royal Mail. The communication from the company was very good and I was notified when the item was in Royal Mail's delivery system.
The jacket was great quality and a perfect fit. I will definitely be a returning customer.
