3 days vacation completely spoiled
Short stay with 3 nights, completely spoiled by very high construction noise, just below the terrace, from 8AM in the morning. Just not, okay in the high season.
I had booked a comfort room with terrace and sea view. Nice room and terrace, but what does it help when you cannot stay in the room and terrace, a facility we had paid extra for. We had just chosen the place because of the view to the Baltic Sea and not least the opportunity to have a few quietly days, most of the time with a book at the terrace.
The hotel did not respond to two written complaints the first day. First the next day after another written complaint, there was a response. A bottle of vine, and a letter asking us to go the the Front desk. The front desk was very sorry but it was "unexpected" and they could not do anything to it, and promised it would be the last day with construction noise "tomorrow", but would not help us much when we were leaving that day. As a consolation, they offered us a voucher for a "Buffet with free wine" – that was all they could do. The problem was, that we already had had dinner before we came back to the hotel, so the front desk got their voucher back.
I we had been informed about the building noise, we would not booked a room there – who would to high season prices. But the hotel never told us. They could have sent information by mail or at least informed about it at check-in, and given us an option to cancel the booking, a room on the other side of the hotel or a reduced price.
The place is great, but if you do not want to hear scream from seagulls from the sunrise to midnight, then you should choose somewhere else.
The hotel is big. There is no air conditioning in the hotel itself, in the lifts or in the rooms. There are only 3 lifts and 13 floors - maybe about 500 rooms ... therefore there was almost constant waiting lines and crowded lifts.
