When you have tinnitus the last thing…
When you have tinnitus the last thing you need is an app that doesn't support the hearing aids 100% the NHS gives you.
When I pair the aids and it recognises them and then when you attempt to connect to the app it fails time after time, absolute rubbish!
Absolutely rubbish bluetooth…
Absolutely rubbish bluetooth connection. You can buy simple cheap BT headphones and all sorts of other things that hook up seamlessly. But their multi thousand pound items cannot. Get your act together. Currently just one aid enabled and have given up with the other.
Absolutely dreadful
Absolutely dreadful. Bluetooth connectivity is extremely poor. I contacted the support and have a chain of emails going back nearly a year with them giving me various instructions that made no difference whatsoever and they made me feel like this had never happened before! Which it obviously has Reading these reviews. The service alarm sounds like the national security alarm which had me in a right panic. I just went to Audiology and they’ve changed the size of it and the volume button which I didn’t ask for and I feel is not very helpful at all I wonder if they have anybody with hearing difficulty working at Oticon?? I somehow doubt it.
Worst app ever
Worst app ever . Blue tooth connection very hit and miss.
Forever deleting app and restoring most mornings .
As reliable as a 1980's Lada
I have already placed a review about Oticon on their app on my previous NHS hearing aids.
I now also have a different set of Oticon (more advanced) hearing aids and the same bluetooth problem persists and it is absolutely useless and just not fit for purpose.
I use alot of Bluetooth devices (music speakers, watch, car etc) Bluetooth on Oticon is by far the worst.
When Bluetooth does work, it is fantastic but 85% of the time the connection is intermittent and unreliable where sometimes one hearing aid works, then the other
But very seldom both together.
Oticon replies with the same exhaustive list of instructions that look more like firing up the Apollo Space rocket. The problem solving list is simply ridiculous and time consumung and all with very limited results.
In a nutshell, the Bluetooth on its Oticon H/A's seems to be more of a gimmick advert to put on a box to boost sales.
My advice to any potential purchaser is read the reviews & don't bother with Oticon and opt for a more reliable brand that 'does exactly what it says on the tin'
Oticon named my devices incorrectly changing my nationality my sex and my name for something which contain the same number of letters!
Their app is rubbish and they have decided to name my device in a way which not only changes the spelling of my name it changes my sex and my nationality. I have been complaining about this for months. oticon tries to blame Apple who are adamant that it's oticon who is responsible. It's clearly oticon because I tried pairing my spouse's new hearing aids through the Apple accessibility menu and they named them correctly the minute he installed the oticon app they change the spelling of his name to something incorrect. Oticon doesn't care!
Have had aids plus iPhone checked
Have had aids plus iPhone checked, downloaded app about 20 times. Sometimes works, most times just annoying. Glad I’m not paying for app.

Since the new update these are possibly the worst yet, constantly having to close down and reload. Please fix!!!!!!!

Enough Said
Zero customer service Intent 1
Be mindful that you purchase the most expensive hearing aid (intent 1) from a global brand, Oticon, from your local audiologist, then you get zero customer service in another town, Citi or country. (No globally customer service)
You have to stick with the audiologist you purchased the hearing aid. Or you need to find another audiologist and pay another £600 for the basic fitting or any further adjustment.
Do they care?
Have to reduce my previous three star rating to one star, given the deplorable performance of its associated App. Surely that is something that can be fixed? Why aren't they getting down to fixing it?
Hearing aid now unusable since new App
Since they changed the app a £3k set of hearing aids are now no longer usable ny by mum. Constant disconnects, re-install / re-pair etc etc like everyone else. Even got mum to buy a new Gogle Pixel Phone on recommedation of her audiologist. Same problems. Take a look at all the terrible reviews on google play store for the companion app. My Advice - don't get Oti'con' hearing aids - the clue is in the name!
Oticon Customer service is deplorable
Pleased with the hearing aids but since I followed their instructions to 'upgrade' their app. I have become more and more dissatisfied. The new app will not connect with my phone (purchased last year!)
Having wasted hours trying to follow their instructions, I contacted Oticon!
Contacting Oticon Customer Service has been a nightmare - American 'customer satisfaction' jargon, failure to answer my questions, prevarication, attempt to get me to buy more equipment, attempt to get me to phone USA from UK, eventual admission that their 'upgraded' app will not work with my two year old aids.
Very poor performance
I cannot believe how poor the Oticon Companion App is - having spent a fortune on the hearing aids (Intent 1) the least I expected was a working App to control them!
The App constantly looses connection and I often have to turn off my phone and go through a hit and miss procedure to eventually reconnect. I can return the aids within 30 days and as I’ve only had them 7 days I shall probably return them.
It’s clear from other reviews that this is a long standing and well known issue that Oticom can’t solve.
AVOID OTICON!!!
I am not one hundred % happy with…
I am not one hundred % happy with Companion they take so long to connect to my Zflip5 phone. I sometimes need to restart my phone, and even then it doesn't connect or if I'm lucky one hearing aid will connect. I went back to the previous App and that connects every time in about 3 seconds.
How difficult can it be to set up and…
How difficult can it be to set up and pair hearing aids. This is the worst experience ever. Tried all the suggestions to set up on iPhone but got nowhere. Gave up in desperation.
Awesome products and people!
Been using Oticon now since 2016 and have never looked back. After 30 years of struggling with my hearing I became a super Oti user! Have Connectline streamer, TV adapter. Oticon Companion app works seamlessly for me so not sure why others are complaining. I had 1 small issue which Oticon Brainac's solved within 48 hours.
Oticon's customer service staff are absolute legends along with their UK repair centre.
I have no reason to move to another manufacturer.
Thank you for changing my life for the better.
Oticon Real
The last time I complained about Oticon Real losing Bluetooth connection, Oticon stated that they would be putting out a patch (or Apple would). Hasn’t happened. £6000 for digital hearing aids that keep losing connection is rubbish. The Oticon app is absolutely necessary for using the aids. Furthermore, Hidden hearing charges twice as much as other distributors for Oticon Real.
Very satisfied
I didn't even know that I needed hearing aids until I sat in on my partner's test. I then had my own test and found that my problem is with higher frequencies not volumes. I opted for the most expensive Oticon aids and I'm very satisfied. I can hear much better conversations in crowded situations and I can stream from my iPhone with no problem at all. The help and support that I have had from The Hearing Care Partnership in Blandford has been outstanding.
