A regular visitor to Ottolinghi as it is within walking distance. Up to now I have balked as prices have increased, portions have reduced but on the plus side staff have always been friendly and efficient. I was there for lunch today after a break of a couple of months. The lunch was served on a smaller plate ? Smaller portions and the cheapest bottle of white wine is now £40. I had a tasty piece of chicken and 2 salads and my friend had 3 salads with her chicken. We rather reluctantly ordered a bottle of wine. I won’t go into details but they made a mess of our order but eventually got it right. When the bill came it was £120+ and I honestly felt this was very poor value for money, a rip off. We had commented how quiet the restaurant was and I wonder if other regulars have also said

It was my dear friend’s birthday and she opted to have dinner at the Spitalfields restaurant. To say the food was poor…is an understatement. I ordered their moussaka, which tasted like onions, stewed in chopped tomatoes, The grilled aubergine was revolting -cold and crunchy. We were served a random dish of something that looked & tasted like Lidl's finest cream cheese…garnished with fresh herbs. The service was pestering -not allowing people the opportunity to relax and chat. Every 2 minutes someone was fussing
over us. All in all, it was a poor experience. The food was grim and over priced and the service pushy to the point of annoying.

A very dear Danish friend was in London recently. She wasn’t keen to go to “my favourite restaurant” until I told her it was Ottolenghi then she soon agreed to go. Apparently it was one of her lifetime ambitions to go to an Ottolenghi eatery. I treated her to lunch on her day of departure in 29 July (bill no’23876). Fantastic food, amazing service from our very diligent waitress Maria. Also, lots of delicious goodies to take away. Ottolenghi in Islington has a cool, vibrant ambience with a great relaxation vibe. Five star experience - again (!) - and superb value for money. Thanks again Team Ottolenghi!

I have always loved the meals and dishes put together by Ottolenghi. But the latest takeaway meal that I bought from the Marylebone Lane shop (green beans, tomatoes in sauce, beetroot salad and potato salad), which was outstanding, sadly had small stones in the green beans salad.
One of the tiny stones nearly broke one of my teeth. So the beans were not thoroughly washed.
My love for Ottolenghi though has not changed.

i have always wanted to go ottolenghi and finally went yesterday for my birthday to chelsea. it was very busy and had to wait for a table although there was one that was reserved but during busy times tables should not be reserved.
anyhow i shared a table with other people and order three salads and a cup of coffee. the salads were small portions and were put on to a very small plate and with a cup of coffee my bill was over £25.00. did i feel ripped off yes i did!
although the salads did taste nice it wasn't worth the price!!
please present your salads on a better size plate.
incidentally, the waiting staff looked tired and exhausted and didn't smile very much!!

Tremendously tasty and delicious food conceived and served with skill and care, and creativity. As such, amazing value for money and attentive professional service from Tamuka, for whom nothing was too much trouble.

What we ate: A birthday lunch of two salmon dishes with choice of salads (beetroot aubergine, chargrilled Hispi cabbage); and fried sea bass (cauliflower and chilli, aubergine) followed by coffee and my favourite, sumptuously light sponge apple and vanilla cake.

Thank you Tamuka and Team Ottolenghi - you deserve all your plaudits for years of at the vanguard of affordable fine dining, with an unrelenting commitment to fresh local produce, and social good ( I will never forget what you did in feeding local school kids in need during Covid so will always show loyalty to you and your values).

The cakes are amazing , and I would recommend anyone who has been to go as they are second to none , the carrot and walnut cake is to die for

I do love OL’s food, but please label your food for allergies better. I bought mince pies recently and asked whether these contain nuts, which I was told they didn’t. My god daughter had a severe reaction, and thankfully is fine now.

Very poor customer service. Ordered a hamper for Christmas with delivery booked for 20 December, as website says ‘ Our fresh products have a 10-15 day shelf life, please choose your delivery date accordingly. The dispatch date can be chosen during as you checkout (delivery available from 29th November).’ I chose the later date and booked online. Had an email to say delivery tomorrow (6 December) and tried to contact customer service. Called twice and left a message, and sent an email marked urgent. Still no reply, so sadly we will have to send the hamper back☹️ Would definitely avoid if you want a trouble-free hamper order.

Great customer service, Andreea was really helpful with changing the delivery date for my order.

I used the mail order service for some food ingredients to go in with a Christmas present. It was too late for postal delivery but they managed to accommodate my order and made sure it was available for me to pick up the next morning. They did everything they could to help me out and for that I am very grateful. Top marks Ottolenghi.

I went to the Angel Branch last Friday for breakfast. It was cool, one suggestion only if the spice oat can be served hotter. For tall people also the long table and chair may not be suitable. All on aggregate the service was amazing. Will come back next.

I love ordering their pantry and fresh items online. Always delivered next day. So fast and kept well informed. Items always delicious. Have ordered several of their hampers as gifts and they are always beautifully packaged and presented. I would definitely recommend
